CHAPTER 4

2052 Words
JANE I just finished preparing for school, the sun is already out and it's beautiful outside. I'm wearing my black leather dress that is just above my knees with my front low top sneakers with just a mini makeup on, I only did my eyebrows and put on a nude lipstick today. I stand in front of the mirror thinking about the day ahead of me. My first class is Math and Luke and I are both doing Math, I'm not ready yo face him after I had just told him off yesterday. I know I sound crazy but I wish he could've at least tried to stop me or kiss me to shut me up or maybe hold me. There's no denying the fact that he drives me crazy, I miss him, I can still feel his touch on my skin, it felt so right in every possible way. I understand why girls are crazy about him, I mean who wouldn't? he's thee devil, the Greek God, he's also the arrogant bastard, that's a surreal. Why am I thinking about Luke? He's a player, I'm sure he thinks I'm just a slut who opened her legs for him the following day I met him. What is wrong with me? So you don't miss his touch, his lips against yours, his long fingers inside your tight walls? "Okay stop thinking about Luke. Knock it off, get over it, he'll never be yours," I say to myself. You won't just get over it, Jane, you like him. I can't like a guy like him, he's damaged. "Aren't you looking beautiful?" My mom says coming in. "But isn't that dress a little too short?" She continues. My mom is a little bossy, everything I do, she always has an opinion about it, it kind of irritates me sometimes. I love my mom so much, I really do but I'm eighteen, I can take care of myself, I need to make my own decisions without her breathing down my neck all the time. "Mom, I like this dress so I'm wearing it today," I say turning to face her. "But honey, it's short and you know the world nowadays is cruel and I don't want you to get hurt," she rambles. "Mom, I'm fine, no one is going to hurt me so please relax, we're getting late so let's just go." "Won't you have your breakfast?" She asks. "I'll have it, let's go," I respond taking my backpack and head to the kitchen. The drive to school is quiet, my mom offered to drive me. She's a good mom but sometimes she turns to be an obsessive person, she's too bossy, she's clingy. Sometimes we don't even get along because she wants things to be done her way and I hate that. She can be a little bit of a psycho. "So is there a boy you're seeing in your new school?" I didn't expect that question and as soon as she asked that, I just thought of Luke. Why do I keep thinking about that devil? Because you want him, sweetheart. My mind says and I quickly brush it off. But what happened Saturday night was amazing, I've never felt anything like that before, I felt loved, honored and worthy. Is that how s*x is supposed to make you feel? Come on, Jane, it's just s*x, nothing more, stop being a loser. "So?" My mother continues. "I'm not seeing anyone, mom." "That's more like it, we don't want you to fail now, do we?" "Mom please," I say, she laughs as she stops in the parking lot. "We're here," she says. "Thanks, mom," I kiss her check and exit, she exits too. "Where are you going?" "I love you," she says. "I love you too, mom," she hugs me then enters her car and drives off. "Mommy's little girl huh!" That deep voice says behind, I don't even need to say who it is, I know exactly who it is. I sigh and turn to face him. "Luke." "Jane, you look beautiful as always," he mutters, I blush and quickly look down at my feet. "I'll see you later, Jane," he continues wetting his bottom lip and walks away. I try to say something but my voice fails me. Where did all my saliva go? I let out a sigh and walk behind him but a bit far from him. I get to my locker and take my books then make my way to my Math class. "Hey! Finally, I thought you weren't coming," Erika says making a space for me. "I wouldn't try even if I wanted to." I put my backpack down and sit down. Right there Luke comes in with his friends. I can't take my eyes off this guy, he is gorgeous and anyone can testify to that. "Stop staring," Erika says diverting my attention from Luke. The class goes on and the bell rings, we go to our next classes then we go to our break. The whole class goes out, I stay behind gathering my stuff. "Miss Adams, you're needed in Miss October's office," the intercom informs me. What am I needed for? Am I in trouble? I can't he in trouble, I'm new here. I take my stuff and head to the office. I knock and open the door. "Miss October, you asked to see me," I say going in. "Miss Adams, take a seat," she instructs me, I sit down and wait for her to say something but she doesn't. The door opens and guess who comes in, the devil himself. What is he doing here? Luke sits next to me and wait for Miss October to say something. "Thank you both for coming. You must be wondering why I called you here. Jane, I need you to rewrite the quiz we wrote, I noticed that you didn't do well so I'm giving you a second chance," she explains. "I'm sorry, Miss October, it won't happen again," I mumble. "I know it won't happen again, that's why I called Luke here, he'll be helping you practise." What? I opens my eyes wide, not believing what I just heard. There's no need for this. "There's really no need, I can do it, I'll ask Erika to help me," I stammer. Luke is so relaxed in his chair, he wants to laugh so bad but there's no chance, he's enjoying this. "Luke is good in Math, that's why I asked him to help you," she says. "I'd be happy to," Luke says, I give him the most vindictive look ever. "That's it, you can go," Miss October says, I take my backpack and leave the office as fast as I can. I get outside and stop near the entrance. I let out an exasperated sigh. "You're more cute when you're nervous," Luke says standing in front of me handing me his phone. I look at him confused. "I don't have all day, Jane, give me your tens and I'll text you and confirm the time to practise." I take his phone and dial my number then hand it back to him. "This doesn't mean anything," I say trying to act tough. Who am I kidding? This guy is intimidating. "Your words not mine," he says closing your the space between us and whispers to my ears, "but we'll see about that." Just like that, he's gone like he was never here. I make my way to the cafeteria and find Erika there. I warm my food and eat. "So where were you?" She asks. "I was in Miss October's office, I failed the quiz we write last week and now she wants Luke to help me with Math," I say rolling my eyes. "What?" Erika laughs her lungs out. "Are you serious?" "Yep, so yay!" "Come on, you'll be fine, he's not that bad," she says. "I guess so." I'm really not interested in this conversation. We indulge into a random conversation then go back to classes. The day continues as usual and then school is over. I head to hall where the cheerleaders are, we rehearse for about an hour, after the rehearsals are over, the others leave I gather my stuff and head to my locker. I put everything in place, my phone beeps, a text from my mom telling me to catch a cab, she can't make it. I should've driven myself to school today but she just had to be stubborn. "f*****g great," I say as I slam my door and lock it. I turn and then I see him standing at the distance focused on his phone. Does he have super powers? He's everywhere I am. I gather my strength then make my way towards him, just as I am about to pass him, he blocks my way. "No so fast sugarplum, I'll give you a ride," he tells me. Did he just call me sugarplum? "No thanks, I'll get a cab," I say trying to pass but he blocks my way. He takes my backpack not breaking the eye contact between us. "I'll take you home," he walks away. I clench my fists and obediently follow him. The drive to my house isn't that long but now it is long. "You're not going to talk to me?" He starts. "Do I have to?" "I'm giving you a ride home," he says. "I didn't ask you to," he looks at me like he doesn't believe what I just said. I didn't ask him though, he literally forced me to go with him so I'm reminding him. He stops the car and looks at me. What the hell? "And now?" "We're not going anywhere until you tell me what your problem is," he says. "I don't have a problem with you nor will I have it in future so please I need to go home, if that's okay with you. Besides I told you to stay out of my way and I'll stay out of..." I don't finish my sentence, he gets out of the car and leaves me there. Are you f*****g kidding me? What is wrong with this guy? I follow him and stand in front of him. Normally I don't have the strength to call him on anything but today I will. He's a Greek god yes and I'm crazy about him but I need to go home, he can't just do this. "Hello! I have to go home. What do you think you're doing?" I ask standing in front of him looking up at him, he's really tall. "I'm waiting for you to calm down," he says. "Calm down? Dude, I need to get home so if you don't mind, please get in the car and drive, I have so many things to do and I don't have time to stand here and play hide and seek with you." I ramble at him while he's looking at me like I'm crazy. "Why are you mad at me?" He asks in his sharp tone. Am I? "I don't even know you, so why the f**k would I be mad at you of all people in this world?" I close my eyes gathering my breath and I let out a sigh trying to control my anger. "I need to get home so please if you co-" I don't finish my sentence as his hand grabs the back of my head pulling me towards him and crashing his mouth against mine. His lips move fast against mine and I try to match up with the pace. I crave for him from every part of my body, every fiber of my tissues. My hands roam around his strong arms to his neck pulling him closer to me. My legs weaken at the sensation and if it weren't for him grasping my waist so tightly, I would've fallen down long ago. His tongue sweep against my lower lip asking for entrance and I grant him happily. His hands slowly glide up from my waist to my cheeks as he lowers the kiss and pulls back giving us time to catch our breaths. "You talk too much," he hums out. "Luke-" I mumble trying to calm my hormones as I peer into his ocean blue eyes.
