Chapter Six: Giant Baby

1967 Words
Linus stopped Abe from getting inside the car by clasping his shoulder. "You are not going home yet." Abe threw him a puzzled look before it turned to a skeptical look. "You're actually serious about that? But you literally just ran twenty laps earlier!" he tried to reason out, but Linus was not having none of that. "Stay." he commanded him before he took out a piece of earphone from its case and wearing it before tapping it twice. Marcus gave it to him together with the other gadgets he'll need, but don't want. Apparently, they don't need to put a damn tracker on him because the chip is a tracker enough. Still, he has to ask permissions before doing something first. A typical puppet chained to his master's fingers. "And you're calling because?" the familiar energetic voice asked him. The earpiece is made by him and it is designed for the bodyguards. It will automatically connect to a call with Marcus with just a tap. "Because I'm asking for your permission to kidnap the heir, which will probably not be that hard considering he is unarmed and unguarded as a f****** fly." he responded with a chuckle and caught Abe's frown at his words. He got no laugh from his joke. No surprise there. "State your reason because I don't want to waste even a second talking to you. Consider yourself lucky that I will let your rudeness to Mrs. Hemmingway slide." "Same. I called to ask if I can take the brat somewhere to train him. I would have taken my time training him, but it seems like you never taught him anything and we'll start from nothing. And thank you, I appreciate it." he responded, voice full of sarcasm. "Why? We have a training room here. We have a boxing ring, a gym, anything you'll need." Linus scrunched his face before he sniffed and crossed his arms. "Your Master told me to train him. To teach him. He did not specifically state where, did he?" "Still. It'll be unsafe. Our enemies are all over the country, Savage." Linus sighed in annoyance. "I'm sure he'd love to hear the concern from you, Sharpie. Fine. Whatever." When they reached the mansion after an inspection that took like forever to make sure the car had no tracking device, bomb or whatever, Linus grumbled under his breath and swung the bag on his shoulder. He turned to Abe who's following after him. "Change into a more comfortable outfit preferably a training outfit. I better see you in the training room or I will drag your ass there whether you like it or not, got it?" The Giant Baby just rolled his eyes at him. "Whatever." Linus licked his teeth as he stared after him. "I'll be sure to fix that attitude too." "WHAT SORT OF training have you done so far? What is your everyday routine?" Linus opened up as soon as Abe showed up five minutes after he came dressed like some brand sponsored him from head to toe. The room is spacious enough for them to move and it has everything you'll need. From refreshments to equipment. Looking up at the ceiling, you'll see countless CCTV monitoring them. It made Linus actually if men will come running if Abe is in danger. Sure, he's the legal son, making him the heir. But he thinks and sees that it is only for the eyes of the people. But in reality, Lucas sees and considers his first born as his real heir. Even a blind man can see that he favors the son out of marriage that his son has from his wife. But Abe need not worry because Linus is here to help him. He will help him grow and be the perfect heir to Lucas. Abe will be the next Master of the Levisay clan and he will make sure of that. "Uhm, physical education?" Abe answered while scratching his cheek. Linus resisted the urge to slap his forehead. "And your everyday routine?" he deadpanned. "Breakfast, School, home and sleep." He groaned in annoyance. "I meant your workout routine, doofus." "Oh." Abe exclaimed and chuckled awkwardly. "I don't have any." "Hopeless. You're hopeless." Linus chanted with a sigh and shook his head. "We'll literally start from nothing." he told him before he scanned his swimmer's body. "We'll need to put some muscles in you to withstand the training. Before that, you will learn basic self-defense in order to protect yourself with those bullies. I'm not going to be around to help your ass all the time." Abe just blinked repeatedly at him like he just spoke a different language. Linus starts to walk in circles around him. "First thing you need to know are the vulnerable areas of a human body. You need to focus on that in order to fight them. What are those? Eyes, nose, throat and groin area. An attack to these will guarantee an escape and self-defense." Abe remained silent and Linus stopped in front of him to see him with a troubled look on his face. "I... don't really like fighting or hurting people in general." "And you'd rather them hurt you instead, is that it? You'd rather have them beat you into a pulp and do nothing? This is why you're second to your brother. This is why he favors him more than you. Why? Because you are a coward." Linus taunted him. One thing Linus learned from his adoptive Father who taught him is to hurt your feelings. To hit where it hurt the most. To point at someone's weakness in order to prove a point and start from there. To use that weakness as a strength. And he succeeded because he saw how his eyes glistened with tears and clench his fists. And Linus saw the old him at Abe for a little moment. He saw how he did the same. "But I will help you. I will help you beat him. I will help you fight those bullies, but in order to do that, I need you to be cooperative, okay? Are you ready to learn from me?" Abe was silent for a moment before he sniffed and nodded slowly. Linus patted his shoulder before he continued with an earlier explanation. "Focus on the vulnerable areas I mentioned and avoid hitting their chest and knees. You need to make your every move like it will be your last chance to fight. You have to be determined enough. Your aim is to protect yourself and not win the fight, okay? With this basic self-defense, you can fight them or run, I'm not telling you to go Bruce Lee on them. That is another training for another day." "You can use your hand, elbow, knee, shin, foot and fingers. There are more than ways to protect yourself, but you just have to know how to use them properly." First, he taught him the Hammer Strike. "If you have a pen or pencil with you, it'll be a good use for defense too. Do not use your fingernails, because it'll only hurt you more than them." Next he showed him how to kick someone's groin if they're far or near enough. "You need to be precise with your move 'cause it will paralyze them. Always use your dominant leg. You need to aim for it. And nothing hurts a man than to hit where it hurts the most. Come on, try it." he encouraged him with a motion of his hands. Abe lifted his right leg and attempted to hit him in the groin using his shin, but his moves were too slow and Linus managed to avoid it. "You need to be fast, the attacker won't adjust to you. Again." This time, his move was too rushed and it missed his groin, Linus was about to open his mouth when Abe moved once again, and this time because he'll closer, he used his knee to hit his groin and he succeeded. "F***!" Linus cursed before he cupped his balls and jumped like a rabbit. He glared at the Giant Baby to see him sending him an innocent smile. Oh, he's a little cunning, isn't he? "You'll regret that." Their lessons continued and Linus made sure that Abe was able to do the seven techniques he taught him. He didn't stop until Abe almost threw up and almost crawled into exhaustion. He also didn’t stop until he had consumed five large bottles of water and nearly fainted. When they're done, they just both laid back in the middle with him chilling and the Giant Baby catching his breath with their heads almost touching. "Y-You're a M-Monster." Abe told him in between huge breaths. "Oh, those were the basics, you big baby. Tomorrow, you will start a daily workout routine for that muscle and we will repeat all the seven steps until you can actually do damage." Abe made a sound of protest, but he just kicked his shin. "You'll thank me for this." A few minutes of silence passed between them and the only thing that could be heard around was Abe's breathing. "I never wanted to be their heir, you know. I don't want that life. I want... I want a peaceful life. I want to be able to do things I like without feeling like I'm chained to something with the limitations of what I can do. I want to enjoy life without being told what I can and can't do." Linus is listening, but he didn't say anything. "I told my Dad that he can give Adrien the position, but because of my Grandfather, he will never be able to do that. Adrien is the bastard son and I'm the legal son, but why do I feel like the roles are reversed?" Abe voiced out, his voice faltering and lowering every now and then, signalling just how his words affected him. From the corner of his eyes, he saw how Abe turned his head to look at him. Linus blinked softly before he too turned his eyes to him. Bright blue eyes staring back at his hidden mismatched eyes. One's full of emotions, but sadness is dominating. While Linus' eyes held nothing. The last time, he laid with someone like this, that someone ended up dead. That someone was the reason he was alive and now, he's with someone once again. But this time, he's with the one he's going to use to justify Tyler's death. That night when he's preparing himself to sleep just after taking a much needed shower that probably lasted an hour, Linus stepped out to the balcony and looked up at the sky. The absence of the stars brought sadness in his heart. They used to stare up the sky back in Hope Orphanage and count them. Now, there are barely enough to star to count. "The moon looks so big from up here." he muttered out loud, his mismatched eyes free from contact lens staring up at the beautiful moon. Just then, he heard the familiar sound of the voice he first heard when he came here. Warm hands gripped at his heart and he found himself struck by the voice once again. This time though, the voice sounded near so his eyes hurried to look at where it's coming from. And there, opposite his room, he saw the source of the voice singing to the moon with his eyes close, his fingers streaming his guitar and his lips muttering the lyrics. Linus found himself chuckling under his breath before he looked up the moon once again. How could it be you with that soothing voice of yours can calm me and touch my heart? How could you be, Abe Levisay?
