Scene 1 – Conflicts and Wars Between North and South
After the Israelites settled in Canaan and the land was divided among the tribes, differences began to emerge between the northern and southern tribes—not only geographically, but also politically, religiously, and socially.
The South – Judah and Benjamin
The tribe of Judah settled in the south, surrounded by strong mountains and fertile lands. Jerusalem became its center—a fortified city, prepared to become both a spiritual and political capital.
This region was relatively stable, but it faced threats from neighboring tribes and from the north, where the military power of the northern tribes was steadily growing.
The North – The Northern Kingdom and the Tribes of Joseph
The north comprised ten tribes, led by Ephraim and Manasseh.
