Torn By Moonlight

CHAPTER: PRISONER

Tied up and held captive in another territory for three days now. My body weak, my strength gone. I could only rely on my animal instincts for survival. I don't care what it takes as long as it gives me answers to what I seek. I can't give up.

The sunrise sips through an opening reflecting in my eyes. The sound of gongs and noises wakes me up unconsciously.

“What’s happening?” I look through an open hole on the wall. I begin to hear footsteps approaching me. The door swings open with force.

“Untie her and bring her out!” Shout a member from Harold pack.

I was quickly untied and my hands and feet swelled up due to the tightness of the rope. I could barely stand up on my feet.

“Move it!” shouts the pack's adviser.

I tried to take a step but I tripped and fell flat on my face. Pains playing like notes in my head. I thought I would be treated with pity but rather I got dragged away by force.

Shoved and pushed like a donkey I knew things could only get worse from here. I clinged to my pendant hoping for an answer or some sort of way to break free.

“Open the gate!” A man yells a distance away from us.

The gates opened revealing Harold and his pack members. I was brought before them as they watched me come closer in their sights.

“We've brought her.” The adviser speaks, bowing down to Harold.

“You may leave.” he gestures to them.

I stand still gazed face to face to Harold’s eyes. No words could describe how I felt. The torture I had endured. The pain seemed to make me stronger. Now I face a judgement of a different pack: to live or die.

Harold takes a few steps towards me; he said,

“Welcome Daisy to my territory. I hope you've made yourself welcome enough. I'm glad you didn't try to escape, good girl.” He pats me on the shoulder.

“What do you want from me?” I asked, eyes firm at him.

He struck my face immediately; “watch it Omega. You do not talk to me in such a manner!” He yells provoked at the word I said.

“My apologies. I simply want to know why you've brought me here and refuse to let me go.” I tell him calmly, my face red from the slap he had given me.

“That's better. You see Daisy, you're something special more like a key to unlock hidden passages that nobody can. That pendant you have there just proves it” he comes closer to me and slowly lifts off my pendant from my neck.

“DON'T” I voice out defensively.

“Interesting, what power you have. Daisy the Betrayal's daughter” he growls, eyes shaped like wolves.

“You're in luck. I will spare your life but only for one reason.” he holds me by my jaws.

“What reason is that?” I ask awaiting his reply.

“You seem useful to me and my packs” he smiles at me.

“Are you allowing me to be part of your pack?” I asked anxiously with heavy breathing.

“Yes but as a prisoner. You would serve me your alpha with no questioning understood?” He clenches my jaws tightly in pain.

“Y…yes I will.” I struggled to voice out.

I got released from his tight grip. My mouth was sore from the pain I had endured. He climbed up to a wide stone wall. There he gave his announcement.

“Today we have brought an outsider to our territory. We won't see her as a threat to our pack but a prisoner who is bound to help out when ask. Welcome Daisy, an Omega and a Betrayal's daughter!”

Everyone howls coldly at me. Their faces filled with excitement. To me I felt mocked and insulted again but this time around in a different pack. I could only stare as drops of tears rolled off my eyes.

At noon…

I was brought back to my chamber where I was captured. Untied and left alone. I thought I would go to bed hungry and cold but I was given a live rabbit to feast on. The door suddenly opens.

“You're food. Eat up.” The pack adviser said dropping off a live rabbit to the ground. Heads off immediately.

My wolf instinct kicked in transforming into a werewolf. I grabbed the prey in my jaw and with one bite snapped the head like a twig. Oh the sweet taste of warm blood filled my mouth as I gobbled down the entire rabbit hole.

Not completely satisfied but having had a decent meal for a long time I called it a night and laid still on my bed. An hour passed but I couldn't fall asleep.

Getting up from bed, I take off my pendant from my neck and closely watch how beautiful it was. The wolf mark which is embedded on the pendant is the exact drawing on my wrist.

“What?” I gasped in shock.

I look at my wrist and look back at the pendant which began to glow impulsively.

A woosh of white light glows out of the pendant making a trace of line leading outside my cottage. Skeptical and curious, I began to follow the trace line which led me to an open field of dead branches and trees.

“Seriously?” I sigh disappointedly.

I take my leave but before I could take another step I notice the moonlight rays reflecting on my pendant. My pendant shone with energy as my body transformed.

My transformation wasn't a werewolf but something different entirely. After the transformation I didn't feel anything. I looked basically the same. What was going on?

Tilting my head backwards, my eyes turned red, fangs shooting out from my month and my body began to turn pale like I was half dead. I immediately was able to hear the slight of sounds and smell the faintest of scent.

Looking at my hands and feet which seemed normal. I hurried to an open river to see my reflection gone. I now craved blood more than usual. What could the transformation be called? I pounded thinking for an answer until it rang to my head.

“I'm a vampire?” My eyes widened in fear and shock.

“No, No, no!” I screamed. Slamming the ground.

My breath began shaky as my appetite to feed intensified.

“I need blood” I searched desperately in search of warm blooded prey but found none.

I sensed a sharp cut from miles away from me of an injured wolf child in the woods. My predator instincts shifted to the child as I moved faster than lighting.

There I saw my prey. It's heartbeat pulsing like it should. The temptation to go in for the kill calls me loudly. I need to make the kill, I need blood!
