The Top of the Waterfall

'Let me just grab a t-shirt and my walking shoes then we can go' Justin said with a grin as he moved away from the door frame.

I let out a deep breath, I hadn't realized I had been holding in. I have to say I was kinda hoping he'd leave his shirt off...

He took afew strides towards me after throwing a shirt on, 'okay let's get going he grinned as he sauntered past me. '

Even though it was early you could already tell it was going to be a hot day.

It felt so humid walking on the path through the rainforest. As it was not yet light it was peaceful, as there were no sounds from birds or bugs that lived there.

The sounds of our footsteps and of us catching our breaths were all that I could hear, it really was rather peaceful. Being with someone and not having to talk.

Justin broke the silence. He glanced across and casually asked 'So hows sabrina?'

Sabrina is one of my best friends from way back. I met her first day of pre-school. Her family were also fishermen, her dad Evan worked on the boat under mine and him and Ron were also close friends, when our family got together her younger brothers and mine loved playing together.

'Keep away from Sabrina' I huffed.

We were only walking but we weren't too far from the waterfall and the path was starting to get steep.

'aww someone getting protective?' he asked as he nudged me.

I automatically put my hand out to stop me falling over and landed on a rock. They were starting to get thicker the higher we climbed with less and less rainforest.

'Ouch Justin!' I rubbed my hand. It wasn't bleeding mum could fix it later with her powers.

I got upset now 'Yes I am, Sabrina is my best friend, you could have any girl on the island, I don't understand why you have to ask me about her' I spoke in a hurry.

'Okay I was only trying to wind you up, I'm sorry about your pushing you. I didn't realise how strong I was and how small you are' he smile apologetically. 'Can I take a look at your hand?' I nodded shyly

By this point we had stopped, 'Come here over by this rock' he said while sitting on it himself. I clambered up next to him. putting a bit of pressure on my wrist. 'ouch' I breathed. Justin pulled my hand closer and inspected it 'yeah you'll defiantly need to get it looked at' I glanced up at him, his blue eyes were staring into my own as if they were trying to search for something there.' yeah thanks, I was going to ask my mum,' glancing away first. 'Come on sun's almost up crays will be asleep soon.' I said jumping off the rock. As I walked away I could feel his eyes staring after me, and I felt it was almost in a longing kinda way.

I just kept walking and brushed it off, 'Hurry up slow poke" I yelled back to him as I took off at a sprint
