Clara's Pov
"Miss Bradenton, it's time for dinner."
Already? I mentally cursed while sitting up. I rubbed my eyes, trying to hide the frown on my face. I was actually enjoying the sleep when she suddenly showed up, interrupting my dream.
"I'll be there in five."
"Okay." She left while I went back to sleep. But then I heard mom's voice from the outside.
"Clara, sweetheart, dinner is ready. We're all waiting for you." I grunted as I finally stepped out from the bed. I was sure mom didn't hear me.
I went to the door, she was still standing there with this smile that always showed her one sided dimples on her right cheek. "C'mon, they're waiting for you."
"They?"
"Yes, hun, Alpha Darius and his sons. They are already at the dining hall, you're the only one left."
We made it down the long stairs. We passed through the sitting room before making it to the dining hall. Before we got to the hall, I had to tell mom to stop. I was feeling different immediately I got to the sitting room, the atmosphere felt strange at the moment.
I took so much effort to calm myself down, taking in as much air as my lungs could contain. Mom held my shoulder, "You look nervous." She said
"I haven't been invited for a grand dinner like this before."
"I understand, and I don't blame you. But you don't have to worry, this is your new home. It's time you start feeling at home with the rest of your siblings."
I nodded my head, feeling a bit relaxed at her words.
She opened the door for us to enter, I could feel the once gone nervousness once again. My heart was beating so fast at the number of grown up men in the room, and I was the only little one in the house. They almost had the same looks, but one thing or the other made them easily identifiable.
"Sorry for keeping you all waiting." I apologized, finding it difficult to raise my head.
Mom noticed it, she held my hand, squeezing it in hers. "It's gonna be alright." She mind linked to me, weaving me an assuring smile when I looked up at her.
"Nonsense. You don't have to apologize, we learned you were sleeping. Hope you had a good dream?" Alpha Darius asked.
I went to sit in the empty chair beside mom. "Yes. A good one I'll say."
"I love to hear that."
I made sure I didn't exchange glances with any of Alpha Darius's sons, but Alpha Darius had to introduce them to me. "Clara, once again, I welcome you to your new home." I forced myself to smile. "Here are my sons, I know you aren't quite familiar with them."
I traced my eyes on them one after the other, my heart pounded aloud as they glared back at me with an unexplainable expression on their faces. Only one out of the three was putting on a faint smile.
"This is Adrien, my eldest son." He started, pointing at them as he introduced them to me. "This is Kelvin, my second son. And lastly this is Gerek, the third."
I'll just keep my mouth shut.
"Nice to meet you guys. My name is Clara Bradenton." I introduced myself but they weren't acting like I was actually talking to them.
Gerek tried to smile at me. "It's nice to have you home, Clara. I hope you get used to your new environment."
"I hope so too."
We started dinner, and I'll admit, I wasn't feeling quite comfortable any more. I mean, I was at first, but ever since these annoying brats snubbed me and made me look like a crazy moron for making a nice and formal introduction, I think I was done for tonight's dinner.
Alpha Darius had to pour me a glass of wine himself, I can see he was actually trying to play the nice going dad. At the end of the day, I only spoke with mom and dad, the rest of the guys, we all played the not so familiar siblings to each other which I am totally cool with.
After dinner, I left for my room after having a brief conversation with mom and alpha Darius. "I hope you enjoyed tonight's dinner?" He asked me.
"Yes, dad, I did. The meals were delicious, I loved it."
"I'm pleased to hear that. One more thing, just in case you need any thing, do not hesitate to let me know. Okay?"
"I will. Thanks." He placed a kiss on my forehead, "Good night, child."
"Good night, dad." He left for his room.
I noticed the way mom was looking at me. "What?"
"I saw how the boys treated you back there, don't feel too bad about it. I've noticed they aren't familiar with ladies."
"I noticed that too. But Gerek was a little nice though. At least he is better than the others."
"Yeah. He's kinda jovial, just like his late mother. But nevertheless, don't worry about their attitudes, you'll surely get used to them."
"I didn't come here because of them, remember? I came here because of you." She hugged me and kissed my forehead. "Good night, mom."
"Good night, sweetheart, sweet dreams."
"You too." We went our separate ways. I took the right direction which led to my room, then I noticed a room was halfway open. Curious as I am, I tried to get a glimpse of what the room looked like, then I noticed some one staring back at me.
I took my gaze off the room, now staring at the cold looking eyes staring back at me. It was Adrien, with the horrifying gaze which sent cold shivers to my skin. After what felt like minutes, he slams the door.
"Ouch. Next time, don't let your curiosity get to you."
