Trouble
Ken Wolf had always loved the deep evergreen forest of Agon, the calm stream running nearby where he could easily have a drink from, the tall green tall trees which stretch so high that you would think they could touch the sky, with their unique green trunks, the soft fresh grass, accompanied with the sweet low melody of birds chirping, calling their loved ones to bed. He knew he should head home too, but it just felt so impossible. It was a place where he felt most peaceful and comfortable. He was a quiet person, who was definitely in love with nature. He had red hair and a solid, but charming face. All the girls in the village would always fall for his charms. Well, almost all the girls. His friends see him as a proud and peaceful person. Once, he had even saved injured gryphon from country-side poachers. He ignored the dangers of fighting an entire caravan of criminals. It is still a mystery how he managed to outrun them. One night, Ken stood in front of the window of His small private hut. He gazed at the water droplets from the rain rolling down the glass window. He had planned on going for a walk in the forest, but it seemed as though nature did not agree with his plans. Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It kept on coming closer until he could identify it as a woman's silhouette. 'Which woman would be crazy enough to come to my place in a storm like this? Am I really that irresistible?' He looked closer till he saw the figure clearly. It was the figure of Emily Bryon. Emily used to be a gentle girl, who grew up amid grief from the tragic death of both parents. She had fair skin, wild white hair, and a muscular physique. Ken saw Emily as a weak girl, always trying to be fierce. Hiding her pain behind the violence. She would never accept her weakness, which is grief. Ken gulped. He knew that where there's an Emily Bryon, there must be trouble. But he knew how to deal with her. Ken stepped outside and Emily came closer, he could see the frown on her face. Her hair was damp from the downpour. In her hands, there was a brown, blood-stained cloth bag which she threw on the floor and a chicken's head rolled out of the bag. Ken scrunched his nose at the sight of a beheaded chicken. Emily glared with all the wrath of 1,000 brave horses. She said, in hushed tones, "You did this!" She spoke these words breathing heavily. Ken knew exactly what she meant. Earlier, she was practising her archery skills around the market square and somehow managed to clear-cut off a chicken's head with a single shot. A normal civilized person will apologize to the trader and pay for the dead animal but since Emily's moral of civilization and respect was shut off, she just walked away and even swore at the trader when he tried telling her to pay for the dead animal. Ken, hoping to teach her some morals picked up the animal, put it in a cloth bag, and threw it through her bedroom window. "Ah! I can see you've received my gift." ken tries to be sarcastic. As angry as Emily was, she was in no mood to listen to ken's trash talk. She pushed Ken against the wall and rushed into his house. Ken knows how hot-tempered Emily is and is aware of what she can do when she is angry. He pushed her so hard that she knocked herself on the well-carved wooden table and dropped it on the floor. The pain from the knock made her so dizzy, she felt like she would pass out. But she kept on fighting. Ken, realizing how weak Emily was, quickly placed a white handkerchief over her nose. The handkerchief contained a plant-based substance. Its smell is intoxicating that it could make the person inhaling it feel nauseous. Emily felt the cloth cover her nose. Her instincts took over her, telling her to fight back. She fought against Ken's arm to get that cloth away from her nose. Her head ached badly from the fall and as if that were not enough, her enemy was trying to d**g her to sleep. Not happening she told herself You need to keep fighting Emily. She started feeling tired. Her body was giving up. She could feel her body slowly giving in to the warm feeling around her. Inviting her into its calming bosom. Her hands stopped fighting. Her body went numb. Her mind was beginning to shut down. She tried forcing herself to stay awake, and fight against that comforting feeling surround her, but she could not. For the first time in a lifetime, Emily had lost against Ken. There was no changing it.
