Chapter 7 The new chapter Part 2

We moved onto the ingredients next and Chloe had her own little surprise for me. She led me to the pantries. One was hardly used and was more of a*****e cupboard for the extras we had when we had big events going off. She opened it up and It was spotless.

“What’s this for Chloe?” I asked her.

“Well if you were to take out your baking bits I would have more room anyway so I thought you may be able to use this cupboard for all your baking Ingredients and utensils, them sort of things.” I was shell shocked.

“Are you sure?” I asked her.

“Well your going to need more ingredients aren’t you? So you will need somewhere to put them all.” She said.

“She’s got a point, numpty.” Star piped up.

“Star how can you say that to me!” I scolded her. I knew she was teasing me on purpose.

“Come on, Lauren!” Chloe said. “Let’s get some bits moved in here so it’s not as empty, shall we?” She said with a smile. We began to move some of the ingredients in and then the baking utensils that were already in the kitchen. Chloe needed to order more bits for herself so we both worked on our shopping lists together. After about an hour we had done the orders and Chloe said she would take them up to the office herself.

The Stuff wouldn’t be here until this evening at the earliest, so there wasn’t much I could do. I decided I would head to the gym and see if I could find my locker and someone I could order gym wear from.

“Finally!” Start said. She was happy now. Only took me 4 years to make her happy.

“Hay, I am not that bad, am I?” She asked.

“Of course not Star. I Would have given up long ago, if it wasn’t for you!” I told her truthfully. It was the truth. Star came to me at my darkest times and gave me something to look forward too.

We walked to the gym and I found our locker pretty easily. I opened it to find an order sheet for clothing. I needed to tick the items I wanted and the sizes I needed, put my locker number and name on it and tried to hand it into the office but no one was there, i decided to take it to the alpha myself.

“Oh god!” I said, my voice filled with dread.

“What, what’s wrong?” Star questioned me.

“I have to go up all them stairs, again.” I told her. She laughed at me

“It’s a good way to build your legs up. It will make you run faster.” She teased. “Yeah, it’s not you that does the work is it?” I jokingly added.

“Not be long and I can do it for you.” She told me. “Oh yeah and that’s a sure way to be noticed, a white wolf walking up the stairs.” It was almost my 16th birthday and I would shift for the first time. It was supposed to hurt from what I had heard but it got less painful and faster each time you did it.

“And will totally be worth it!” Star said to me. I was looking forward to being Star. I could see her in my mind but being her would be completely different. She was so unique.

I double checked the order form and added a water bottle too. I don’t know what it would cost but I got my wages soon so would use them. I made my way to the office on the top floor of the pack house. Catching my breath at the top of the stairs. As I was doing so the faint scent of pine and cinnamon hit me again. Star begin wagging her tail this time.

“What’s gotten into you?” I asked her.

“I don’t know, but that scent is making my mouth water!” She said. I could see her playfully prancing in my head. That wolf was so odd at times.

“And that’s why you love me!” She said matter of factual. She was right although her mood swings were giving me whiplash.

I walked to the Alphas office and knocked on the door 3 times.

“Enter!” Was all that came through the door. I entered and and took a quick look around. There were other people in the office and I became really nervous.

“Oh I am sorry Alpha, I will come back later!” I said. I had already started to back out slowly.

“Nonsense Lauren. This is my son and his band of hooligans.” He told me “You will need to involve him as he will be taking over soon, so come in!” He added. I had never really dealt with the Alpha so much but I must admit he was kind of cool.

“I just wanted to drop off my gym order form if that is ok?” I asked him. Not looking directly at him as that would be a challenge.

“Yes of course you can.” He spoke.

“I can bring the payment up when I receive my wages, if that is ok?” I asked rather nervous.

“Payment?” He asked me with a look of surprise. “you won’t need to do that! We had a deal and as long as you keep up your end, this is all free. However if anything needs to be replaced, then you will need to pay for that.” I was taken back by his response.

“Yes of course.” I said hurriedly.

“Now I have put you order in for all the kitchen items and ingredients. It will be here about 8:30 so you will need to sign for that. Ok?” I couldn’t believe he had just said that.

“Yes of course. I will be waiting for it and get it all sorted before I finish. Thank you so much.” I answered him. I took my leave and began to walk out the door. It was as if I was dreaming and would wake up any minute.

“Hell, no girl, we are going to make our true life now!” Star told me.

“Onwards and upwards.” I answered her. We walked steadily back to our room and decided that we would work on our menu for the baking for the next week.
