The dinner was ok, but the dessert was amazing. There was a choice of Victoria sponge or chocolate cake. Arron was just going back for second helping of the chocolate cake. He came back to the table with the remaining piece of chocolate cake on the cake plate. We all looked over at him perplexed.
“What! This is amazing cake.” He defended himself.
“Well the girl we spoke to is the one that makes all the desserts and muffins.” My mother said matter of factly.
“Alpha you should make her Head baker.” Arron said without actually thinking. When he realised what he had said he froze.
“You know what Arron, you are actually right.” My dad replied to him. “That’s about the best thing you have ever thought of ya know.” He finished off with a grin on his face.
“Really Alpha?” Arron looked at my dad shocked. My dad always saw Arron as a joker and never took him very seriously.
“Yes. For once it was a good idea..” my dad said. With that Arron finished the cake and and began writing something on the plate.
“What on earth are you doing?” I asked him.
“You will see!” He replied. He finished what he was writing and looked down at the plate. The words Thank You wrote on it very clearly.
My mum giggled a little while me and my dad shock our heads. Mum grabbed the plate and collected the other empty one on her way past.
“I will take them for you Luna.” A girl said to mum.
“No thank you dear. I want to speak to the baker if you can show me the way please.” My mum said. With that the girl led mum back into the kitchen. I wish I had gone with her. I could have gotten a good luck at the girl.
We continued our conversations at our table until it was time to leave. Me, Arron and Jason all followed my dad up to the Alpha office to discuss major pack things. We were discussing things like who I wanted as my Beta and Gamma, and financial aspects for when I take the total in a few week.
“Have you even thought about a Luna for the pack?” I almost fell off my chair. The boys started laughing at me and my dad just looked at me.
“Don’t tell him about the girl, yet!” Lynx said in my mind.
“I do not intend too, don’t worry” I reassured him.
“Not really dad. I have met every eligible she wolf in this pack and don’t think she is here.” I lied.
“Well there will be a lot of Alphas coming to the ceremony in a few weeks, so maybe you will find her then.” He replied with no emotion.
There was a knock on the door thankfully that made us change the subject.
“Enter.” My dad said. Just then the girl I had been wanting to see up close opened the door. She looked up in our direction and apologised and began to back out. My dad stopped her and told her that she could speak in front of us as we would be taking over the pack soon and it would be good for us to be here.
Lynx came up to the front of my mind so he could get a better look too.
She approached the desk and her and my dad started discussing something to do with her position changing. I was honestly not following the conversation but looking at her angel like figure. She thanked my dad and began to walk away. Lynx was going nuts trying to break free and claim her.
She smelled Devine and my mouth was watering being close to her.
As she left the room my dad turned to me and asked
“Do you think that deal was fair?”
“Erm, yeah that seemed fair dad.” I said not even thinking before I said anything.
“Who is she dad?” I asked him after I had calmed Lynx down.
“She is the Omega that came to us about 10 years ago. There was her and that other Omega, what was his name?” My dad was explaining.
“Jake Briggs, Alpha sir.” Jason piped up.
“Yeah that’s it. Briggs. They were the lone surviving two of the blue moon pack. You would have been 8 or 9 when they came to seek sanctuary.” He continued.
“Briggs, as in the note pad Briggs!” Lynx said putting two and two together. “she’s an omega?” He added. She couldn’t be an omega. The moon goddess wouldn’t have paired me with an omega surely. Her eyes were a grey looking colour. Not the silver I saw in the woods. There was something not quite right with her. I needed more information and I needed it now.
“Dad, may I speak to you alone please?” I asked my father. The boys took the hint and left us alone.
“What is it son. You are acting odd!” He said looking intently at me.
“What happened to that pack, again.” I asked acting all interested. I was interested but I didn’t want my dad to figure out why.
“The Alpha and Luna were actually our allies. Clair and Benjamin Newton. They were only a small pack, freshly established. Called Blue Moon.” He began. He opened one of his draws on his desk and pulled out a photo he had and handed it too me. It was a picture of a man and a woman, holding a baby.
“They were attacked by a large pack of rouges, one evening. There bodies were found but their daughters body was never discovered, although they were burned after they had been slaughtered. The only surviving ones were the two omega that came to us and a couple that went to Dark Shadow pack.”
“Although only young girls and women made it. Apparently all the men including Omega men died in the battle. There were rumours that it was a coordinated attack, but was never proven. It was said that The Luna was originally from a pure alpha line making her as powerful as any Alpha known.” He finished.
I couldn’t believe it. That girl came from a terrible tragedy and that explained something else. The drawing pad was hers. It explained why her first drawing was so dark.
“We need to learn more about her, Lynx.” I said through the mind link.
“Yeah, I agree” he replied back to me. I left my father's office and went back to my room. I wanted to study the drawings a little more, before I gave it back. It would be the right thing to do, but how do I do it?
