The Humans Secrets

The next morning came quicker than Jane had ever thought possible as the sound of the horn for the train sounded. It was a little after 6 and she was surprised that he had arrived so quickly. Jane ran to the gates, and arrived just as Brian did with the other ranked members of the Pack. She could still feel the link to her Pack as it had not faded entirely, and could see through the gate as if she even knew the enchantment on the gate. Everyone watched as the train approached, and Thirty people stepped off. It was clear that there were just over a dozen that the others were protecting. Jane lifted her hands and commanded the gates open, surprising Brian. She didn't wait for them to finish opening as she walked through them with no guards flanking her. The guards reacted before any of the Men did, and had risen weapons at her when a voice commanded that they all stand down. She was surprised by the Aura that accompanied it, for she knew it would be almost as strong as hers. "You men have nothing to fear from me or the Wolves of this pack. If you cross this gate it shall be done so with that in mind. If you threaten one of the Wolves under my protection in such a way, you will answer to me as it will be seen as a challenge to my authority." she told them all with her Aura barely eminating. President Andrews knew she was one of the strongest Wolves any human had ever encountered. "Men, you are among friends. You have assurances from War Chief Jane that you enter these grounds under her protection. We will not ask you disarm, however we ask you allow our warriors to do the job that they have been given of protecting you." Brian said surprising the Knights that had gathered. They were not aware that Jane had been elevated to War Chief already. "Very well, we accept you assurance and will allow your security to protect us." President Andrews answered for them all. He stepped from the middle of the formation and led them all as he walked forward. "War Chief Jane, I present the Knights of the Round Table, and ask that you allow us entry into your Pack for the Conclave that has been called." he stated formally. "I, War Chief Jane, hereby grant you protection as a guest of mine and this Pack. Please step through the gate as a friend and ally." she said formally. "I, Master Andrews of the Round Table hereby accept your protection for this Conclave." he said as he led the Humans through the gate. The Humans were nervous as they were led through the Pack to the Administration Building, where they had set up a conference room for them all. President Andrew was surprised that the entire Alpha Council was not present as it was called for under the Treatise. "Welcome Mr. President, as I believe introductions are in order, I shall begin. I am Jane Anna Esvolt, War Chief of the Unified Wolf Army." she said introducing herself to all of the humans. Only 13 of them had sat at the table, the others taking up stations with the Pack Warriors providing security. None of them looked comfortable as they stood next to the creatures that were supposed to be enemies. They each knew however if they were the cause of an altercation there would be hell to pay. "You are absolutely correct. My name is Master Kelvin Andrews, Master of the Knights of the Round Table." he said shattering the entire Pack beliefs about the Human political system. The other 12 introduced themselves, and Jane knew these were the leaders of the Human Clans. "Welcome, it is an honor to have you as our distinguished guests." Jane said when one of them leaned forward. "The Alphas of the Packs are required to be here for it to be considered a Conclave. When will the others arrive?" he demanded of her. "Section 1, Article 2a., Any duly elected War Chief may represent the will of the Packs. The other Alphas have been dispatched to prepare the packs for the coming War." she told them all knowing how to address the situation. "Very Well, shall we begin than. The Clans have heard the Declaration from the Heavens. We assume the Packs have as well?" Master Andrews asked. "All the Alphas were here and saw the illumination of Olympus before and after Zeus bellowed the order for them to assemble for war on the Mortal Realm." Jane informed them as she displayed the pictures some of the Pack members had managed to take. The Knights gasped as they saw the clear outline of Olympus. "This is an interesting development." Master Andrews said. "However we believe there are a few surprises for the Wolves to be subject to ad we forge a new bond." "I think you have already given us a few surprises. The Mages of the Roundtable under Arthur and Merlin are known even among the Wolves, even if it is thought to be of legend. Seeing as you all stand before me now, I assume that the stories of legend are accurate?" she asked them all and they nodded. "They are. We Humans have remembered through the Ages of when Man and Wolf first fought the Titan Wars beside the Olympians, and Magic freely infused our people. Since the Titans were sealed in Tartarus we have lost the ability to feel the flow of Magic, but we have maintained our knowledge of it for the time we knew it would return and bring war to our door again. We however did not expect this war to be against the gods themselves." Knight Arcturus said from his seat. "You will find that they are indeed real, and we remember our complete history, at least those among the Knights do. Not all choose to follow us even though we will never forsake the protection of all Men." Andrews said. "That is why we have called for this Conclave. You refer to a time that we have recently learned has actually happened, and we are hoping to forge a new alliance. One in which all Men and Wolves fight side by side, not for the survival of one over the other. If either of us are to survive, I believe we must stand together as equals and fight side by side for both of our people to survive." she said to them all flatly. "I believe that is as well said as it can be, and sums up what the Clans have concluded as well." Andrews said nodding. "Gentlemen, it is time for us to change the fates of Men. We know what we each feel we must do, and I believe what I am about to propose would be the best way forward. "I propose we join the Wolves for the first time in millennia, and bind our fates together in battle." Andrews said from his position. "Aye." the person to his right said. It took less than a minute for all of them to vote in favor of what he proposed. "How do you propose we move forward War Chief?" Andrews asked. "First we must remove the restrictions of the Treatise from both of our peoples. Please know we will take every precaution to ensure that humans are not accidentally changed against their will. We shall not abandon the spirit of the Treatise, but for us to stand side by side we must all be equals." Jane said standing. "Agreed, we will start with the portions of the Treatise that treats us as equals. Those that restrict the races from training together are the first that must go, and we should all know the history that is accurate." Andrews said. "What about those that are newly changed? We all know that despite the control of Mature Wolves, those who are first changed are unpredictable." Knight Aarons said from across the room. "By the time the next full moon rises, I believe I will have a solution for that." Jane said feeling that what she was about to say was accurate. "What solution is there for the Craze of a newly changed Wolf?" Knight Williams asked curious as Master Andrew was curious at this point as well. "The War Chief Ascension will occur on the full moon in just under two weeks. At that time the Alphas of every pack will partake of my blood as they swear fealty and loyalty to me. This will occur prior to the Changing Ceremony that all new Wolves will be going through. I believe that because of events that have occurred through time that the Ascension Ceremony will correct the Craze that we Wolves have suffered through since the fateful day that Tantalus scratched Dartanion and than William." she said confident. "How can you know this?" Andrews asked. "Well, the only way to assure you of it would be for me to shift. However to do so without doing so would have to be to tell you I am not a werewolf, but a Lycan." she told them as if it were a simple matter of fact. "And what would the difference be?" Williams asked. "You have all dealt with me for several hours now, how far into the change would you be willing to believe?" she asked them. Except for President Andrews they all guessed between 2 and 3 years and he laughed as he was the last of the humans to speak. "I felt my answering first would be unfair to you Ms. Esvolt, I happen to know it's been 2 weeks since your first change. I must say I am extremely amazed at how much control you have." Andrews said as most of the others became nervous at what he said. "Thank you Mr President, however it is not due to anymore than a completion of a prophecy to protect our peoples. It has finally completed in me, and I do not suffer from the Change Craze." she said. "I would be honored if we could see your Wolf to assure the rest here that you are in control." President Andrews said. Jane stood and felt her bones stretch as her Wolf emerged, and she opened her eyes with her Lycan senses in full show as she stood there. She knew by the looks on their faces that they had only see Tantalus do this in the past. "The second Lycan." Andrews whispered knowing of the Prophecy. "So it is true, and you do not experience the pain?" "No, my first change was painful, but I have always had complete control. Once my blood infuses the Packs and corrects the Curse, the Change will only be painful for Wolves on their first change. We will no longer experience three years of uncontrolled rage." Jane said as she let herself change back, knowing she had when the world wasn't as bright. "I propose we name War Chief Jane as Supreme Commander of the Combined Armies." President Hayes said surprising all of the Clan Leaders. "I will second the motion." Williams said knowing it was required of this motion. The other Humans all nodded and said Aye nearly unanimous, knowing that it would be best for them all. Someone had to make the hard choices, and she had trained for this her entire life. "Very well, we will have to bind this oath in blood." She said grabbing a dagger and slicing her palm slightly, and handed the dagger to President Andrews. He didn't hesitate and sliced the meat of his palm and shook her hand as soon as his blood started to run. As their blood mixed there were two suddenly very bright spots that shone by each of them. Next to Jane stood Selene the Moon Goddess stood, with Mother Mary standing next to Master Andrews. "Greetings our children, and Blessed be." Mary said greeting them all. The Humans Recognizing her immediately while the Wolves knew Selene. "Finally we can combine the fates and we may finally stand a chance." Selene said with a smile on her face. "What is happening?" Knight Williams said. "For the first time in history, Wolves and Humans have altered the loom of fate and changed what was written. Never before have the fates of two races been so thoroughly intertwined as they are now." Mary said knowing that none of the Guardians knew what would happen with the way events were unfolding. "Know our children that you embark on the only journey that gives you a chance at survival. We are glad you took this brave step forward, and from this moment forth your choices shall be your own. The loom has unspooled and cannot account for what your Alliance will accomplish. Step forth and fight for what has always been yours and determine your own worth and value." Selene said as they both disappeared in flashes of light.
