Chapter Twenty Five- Finding the Fae

1172 Words
Finding the vampires was relatively easy, it only took a few days. Finding the Fae however was turning out to be an impossible task. They kept themselves well hidden from the world. It seemed that they couldn't be found unless they wanted to be found.   "UGH! this is impossible." I groaned. Michael rubbed my shoulders as I slumped over the desk.  "We'll find them love, don't worry. The Fae are an evasive species. They are tricksters and deceivers, though they can not lie. They will give you answers in riddles and answer with questions. Not all Fae are like this though. The Fae prince used to be an honorable man. But it has been a long time since we have had contact with one another."  I sighed. "What about the creatures there?" I asked. "Are they able to be trained? To be trained to fight?"  Michael sat beside me with a heavy sigh. "The creatures there are drawn to power. The prince's power has drawn not only a phoenix but a manticore to him. He controls them, and they serve his every command. There are other more powerful creatures there like, dragons, griffins, centaurs and more. Fae legend says only a person wielding unlimited power can tame a dragon. They are fierce, their body impenetrable, their talons sharp as razors and deadly to any species. Their flames that can turn even angels to ash. Many have tried and failed to tame one. There always have been only two in existence. The red dragon. fierce, angry and unrelenting. He serves the power of the sun, his fire as red hot as the sun itself. Then, there is the blue dragon. Calm and harmonious. She serves the moon. Her flames a brilliant fiery blue that can reduce diamonds to ash."  My jaw dropped at the creatures he described. They would be great assets in the war to come. But they were not able to be tamed. I always had my hellhound. Dad said I had to keep him in Hell until I was older and ready for him to come to me. Maybe I could do that now. I'd have to ask my father if he could bring him to me. Erebus was my companion as a child in hell and I missed him.  "We need to find the Fae world Michael." I stated firmly. Michael rubbed his chin, contemplating what we could do.  "The closest thing to Fae we have at our disposal is in the shadow world. But no one has been able to walk the shadow world in over a millennium." I looked over to Michael and smiled. "What is it Ariel?" He asked.  "What creature in the shadow world would know?" I asked, carefully avoiding his question.  "Well the Reapers travel through dimensions all the time. They reap all souls. Supernatural and mortal alike."  I jumped up from my seat kissing him fiercely. "Great, thank you." I beamed.  I ran out of the room without another word. Quickly summoning my shadows, they took me to my favorite place. My personal oasis. Once settled I closed my eyes summoning more shadow to surround me and take me to the shadow world.  The shadow world was dark. It was made up completely of shadows and smoke. Creatures roamed the endless vastness of shadows without a destination, without a purpose. Now however a lot of the creatures had a purpose, all of them waiting for my call to arms.  I stood in the middle of the endless shadows "Reapers, come to me please." I commanded. Smoke swirled around me, encasing me, embracing me. Then an army of reapers stood before me, all them willing to help me in any way. "How may we help the Queen of the shadows?" One of the reapers asked.  "I need the location of the entrance to the Fae realm." I told them The reapers were formed entirely of shadows and smoke. Black hooded cloaks covered their head and body, hiding their faces, smoke billowed from under them as they glided towards me. One of the Reapers' smoky hands reached out to me, covering my head in their hands. Then Images and a map formed in my head.  Trees as tall as skyscrapers and as thick as lakes flashed in my mind. Lush green grass lies underneath them, covered in flowers, fresh dew and moss. The entire area was canopied with leaves and branches. Straight ahead of me was one of the grand trees. An opening lay at the bottom of the tree, creatures came and went from it. This was it, this was the entrance to the Fae realm. It was in Washington, where the redwood forest was.  I thanked the reapers for their help then swiftly returned to the mortal world. Pleased with myself and the information I retained I shifted to my wolf and made my home. We had to plan our trip to the Fae realm. I was excited to see this new realm, no one knew what dangers or mystery the realm held. We also didn't know how long it would take. We'd have to carry enough food, clothes and drink to last. Especially since we didn't know what was safe to eat or drink there.  Reaching home I shifted as I reached the porch "Michael, Gabriel, Asmodeus, dad!" I yelled running through the door. All of them reached me quickly.  "Where did you go?" Michael demanded.  "Sit down. I have much to tell you." They all looked at each other before looking back at me. Curiosity and concern lined their features as they sat around the kitchen table.  I took a deep breath and looked at each of them in turn. "I can walk the shadow world." I stated. They all took a sharp intake of breath.  "Since when?" My father asked.  "Ever since I was first able to use my shadows. I have gained the trust and help of the creatures there. They have named me Queen of the shadows. They are ready and willing to fight if the time comes. The reapers have shown me where the entrance to the Fae realm is. It is deep within the Redwood forest in Washington."  "Amazing." Asmodeus whispered as he stood, wrapped me in his arms and spun me in circles. I giggled like a little girl as he spun me. Before I could register what was happening he crashed his lips down on mine. Kissing me with abandon. I moaned into his kiss, completely forgetting we had an audience until someone harshly cleared their throat.  I felt the blush heat my face and ears as I turned to the others surrounding the table. My fathers face was grim while the others were amused. "Sorry dad." I said shyly.  He grunted as he rose from his chair. "I'm going to go plan for your trip to the Fae realm." He told us and disappeared.  I laughed turning back to Asmodeus and wrapping my hands around his neck. "So" I said "Where were we?"
