"Kayla Jones?"
I couldn't believe the name he said. Nor, could I envision Kayla having an extramarital affair with the husband of a woman she knew. Judging from David's comment I don't think he realized just how overlapping his two lives were. And, I don't think he had a clue that Kayla and Renée knew each other from the country club.
Detective Byrd jumped on the information. Pulling out his notebook and pen he was writing Kayla's name and comparing it to the list of suspects he had spoken to. I concluded faster than him, only because I knew the women from our volunteer work. With the small community within the country club, everyone knew everyone.
