When Elaine woke up, she had a pounding headache and didn't want to get out of the comfortable bed that she was currently in for any reason whatsoever. The pillow that she was laying on smelled like it had been sitting out by the ocean and the grey comforter that she was laying under was warmer than even then the comforter on her own bed at home. After a moment, Elaine moved to lay on her back, looking up at the ceiling for a moment before slowly sitting up as she rubbed her eyes, which she still had closed because she feared that if she opened them there would be some form of light in the room that would cause her greater pain.
After debating with herself for quite a while, she slowly opened her eyes to find that the room was rather dark. Looking around the room, she quickly spotted the black curtains on the window that was behind the headboard of the bed as well as over the windows above the window seat not too far from the bed. When she noticed that she wasn't at her house nor in her own bedroom, the events from last night started to run through her head, causing her cheeks to flush ever so slightly.
Elaine remembered flirting with Elizabeth in the bar and then not being able to keep her hands still while she was riding on the back of Elizabeth's motorcycle. An image of her hands making their way towards Elizabeth's breasts caused her to shake her head a little to shake away the memory only to wince at the sudden movement with her head. Her cheeks flushed deeper as she thought about that before putting two and two together to connect that the bedroom she was currently in had to be Elizabeth's.
Taking a better look around the room to find anything that could prove what she had assumed, she soon got the proof that she was looking for when she saw a little handwritten note laying on a white nightstand to the right-hand side of the bed. There was also a bottle of Tylenol and a glass of water. Slowly reaching out, Elaine picked up the glass with one hand while picking up the letter in the other.
Morning/afternoon sleepy head. After last night I'm assuming that you aren't exactly feeling 100% so if you have a headache the Tylenol is beside the water. Feel free to take some if you think they will make you feel better. Also, if you want to shower, there is already a towel, washcloth and some clothes in the bathroom for your use. Feel free to use whatever soap you need to and take your time. I'll be down in the garage if you need me, just follow the sound of music when you need to find me.
Elizabeth
Elaine read the letter and couldn't help but smile. The smile still on her face, she set the letter off to the side and picked up the Tylenol and took two of them before taking a rather large drink of water. She sighed slightly after she put the glass back down, rubbing her eyes once again as she folded the comforter of the bed back and slowly got out of bed. Heading towards the bathroom, she soon got there and smiled a little as she saw the clothing that had been set out for her, just like the letter said they would be.
Quickly locking both of the doors to the bathroom she started to strip, starting the shower after a moment before getting in. It didn't take her long to shower at all and once she got out, she quickly wrapped her towel around herself before looking at the clothes that had been laid out for her. There was a large grey hoodie that she could wear over the white shirt that was there and then there was a pair of long black sweatpants that she knew would be too long for her.
Despite the fact that the cloths were most likely going to be too big on her, she pulled them on after putting on her panties and bra. Once she was dressed, she looked towards the mirror to find that the steam from the shower had fogged it up completely and she couldn't see anything, so she reached out and wiped a circle in the fog so that she could see herself in it. Seeing her hair, she bit her lip slightly as she thought of what she could do with it rather than just allowing it to hang there. After a moment, she got the hair tie that had been used to pull her hair back yesterday and used it to pull her hair back into a sloppy bun before she headed out of the bathroom. Before she left the bathroom however, she gathered her clothes and set them outside the bathroom so that they weren't all over the floor of the bathroom.
Heading down the stairs, Elaine was silent so that she could hear the music that the letter had mentioned, after all, that would be the only way she would ever find the garage. When she got to the base of the stairs, she could hear someone singing to her right, so she headed in that direction before coming to a hallway that either led her to a bedroom on the left or a door to the right. Having heard the singing from the other side of the door, she turned right and opened the door, walking into a little laundry room before opening one more door silently.
Once she opened it, she smiled slightly when she saw that Elizabeth was in the garage. The girl was sitting on a stood in the middle of the garage, a microphone in front of her and an acoustic guitar in her hands. She was wearing a pair of dark grey sweatpants and a white shirt that had the quote "I can't drown my demons they know how to swim," on the front. Elaine looked around the room for a moment, seeing that the room had pretty much been turned into miniature recording studio. When she looked left, in the corner of the garage was a drum set that also had a few guitars around it, all of them standing on guitar stands. In the far corner of the room was a little booth that she assumed was sound proof because from the outside it looked a lot like a recording booth. On the wall in front of her, Elaine could see the control panels that would be needed to record a song and she thought that it was amazing that Elizabeth had all of this.
Elaine was getting ready to ask where all of this stuff had come from before she heard the sound of the guitar being played, which caused her to immediately close her mouth. If Elizabeth planned on singing, Elaine didn't plan on interrupting it for anything. She wanted to hear it and she soon got what she wanted.
When Elizabeth started singing, Elaine loved the sound of her voice. She was singing Windows in Heaven by We Are The In Crowd and Elaine thought that Elizabeth's voice was perfect for the song.
Seems like a dream,
Awaken before it was done.
How could this be?
I walk alone,
But sometimes I picture your hands held in my own.
My brave face it's too late now.
If you could see me now,
Would you be pleased and proud?
I'm doing fine,
But sometimes I cry,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
To see me now,
Through all the sky and clouds.
Living my life,
With a heart full of pride,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
You didn't leave,
But you left behind more than you know,
More than I see.
Still can't let go,
Your image I can't say goodbye,
Here from below.
My brave face it's too late now.
If you could see me now,
Would you be pleased and proud?
I'm doing fine,
But sometimes I cry,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
To see me now,
Through all the sky and clouds.
Living my life,
With a heart full of pride,
When I see your face.
Take me back to the times.
Together we'd seek out, together we'd live out,
All of the rest of our lives.
For just one more minute,
I can't get you in it.
One moments of feeling less time,
Face it's too late now.
If you could see me now,
Would you be pleased and proud?
I'm doing fine,
But sometimes I cry,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
To see me now,
Through all the sky and clouds.
Living my life,
With a heart full of pride,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
To see me now,
Through all the sky and clouds.
Living my life,
With a heart full of pride,
When I see your face.
Are there windows in heaven?
Maybe getting drunk was a good thing this time if I get to hear this, Elaine thought. When the song came to an end Elaine couldn't help but smile happily despite the fact that she wanted to cry because of the feelings that the song made her feel. After a moment of silence in the room, Elaine soon cleared her throat causing Elizabeth to jump slightly at the sound. Elaine looked at the girl and bit her lip slightly as she walked down the few stairs so that she was on the same floor level as Elizabeth.
"I... I didn't mean to scare you, I just wanted to tell you that I thought that was amazing. Your voice is perfect for that song." Elaine said, while blushing slightly as she offered Elizabeth a kind smile. Elizabeth blushed slightly as well, soon smiling as much as she could without opening the busted section of her lip. Pick still in her right hand, Elizabeth ran her hand through her hair.
"Thanks, and it's okay, I just didn't hear you walk in. Normally I can hear that door when it gets opened. Anyway, how did you sleep? I hope the bed was comfortable enough for you and I hope the clothes fit. I-I tried to get the small size of whatever I could find because I know you're nowhere near as tall as I am." Elizabeth started to ramble on about the various things that she had gotten ready for Elaine this morning. Elaine set out a small laugh as Elizabeth rambled, reaching a hand out and placing it on the girls shoulder after she got done talking for the moment. Elaine was going to save her another rambling session.
"Elizabeth, calm down. Everything was just fine. Thank you for doing all of that for me and as for the clothes, the sweatpants and the hoodie are a little big, but I'm not worried about that at the moment. I actually wanted to come down and apologize for what I did last night. I shouldn't have flirted with you like that in the bar a-and I'm terribly sorry if I did something to upset you on the bike ride home. I-I'm not normally that..." Elaine stood there, blushing deeply as she fiddled with the longer sleeves of the hoodie that she was wearing as she tried to come up with a way to sum up how she acted on the motorcycle last night.
"Touchy-feely? It's okay Ms. Watson, I don't blame you for what you did last night. If you say that you're not normally like that then I believe you. I'm not going to assume that the way you act under the influence is how you act when you're just out of school in general." Elizabeth said while smiling softly. Elaine listened to what the girl said and couldn't have been happier. Elizabeth was willing to understand what happened last night wasn't really Elaine. Well, it was but it was the side of Elaine that had already had a little too much to drink which caused her feelings for her student to grow slightly and start to show itself.
"Thank you so much for understanding. Oh, by the way, the offer to call me Elaine still stands since we're outside of school." Elaine said with a happy smile on her face, causing Elizabeth to nod slightly. Elizabeth looked as if she was getting ready to say something else but was suddenly cut off by the ringing of a telephone inside the house. Elaine glanced back at the house before looking at Elizabeth, thinking to herself for a moment.
"Would you like me to get that for you while you put your guitar away? It's the least I can do for you seeing as you allowed me to stay here overnight, use your shower and your clothes." Elaine asked while wanting to make up for running Elizabeth out of her bed somehow.
"If it's not too much to ask of you that would be great." Elizabeth answered with a slight nod. Elaine shook her head as if to say that it was no problem at all before heading back inside the house. Following the sound of the ringing telephone, Elaine soon found the house phone sitting on the granite counter-top of the bar. Quickly she made her way over and picked up the phone, pressing the green answer button before putting the receiver up to her ear.
"Hey, Liz. It's me, Diana. I was just wondering if we were still on for tonight, because if so I was wondering if you could swing by a little early so that everything is ready when they get here?" Elaine heard a rather cheerful voice ask on the other end of the line before she even had the chance to ask who was speaking.
The way that the girl on the other end had spoken of still being on for tonight caused Elaine to think that maybe Elizabeth had a date planned for tonight. Elaine's heart sank a little bit at the thought of Elizabeth going on a date with someone else and that there was nothing that she could do about it, because there was no way that she could be able to ever act on the feelings that she was slowly starting to develop.
