Chapter One
There was a successful entrepreneur, Lucas who reside in a very quiet part of the town called Matribus, Lucas was always the type who felt something was missing from his life. Ever since he lost his wife during their honeymoon in the Atlantic City of LaAfik, one of the most beautiful countries in the world surrounded by tall mountains and vast lands of Savannah, with all kinds of resorts spread here and there, it makes a bit confusing on which part of the country to go as a tourist, and because the green forests that spread across the entire vast land, made the places constantly cold; Lucas love it there, but the beautiful life out there also took away the very best thing life ever gave him, Beatrice. Lucas's life has never remained the same ever since the demise of his wife.
Nothing in his world ever again made sense or made him happy, not the fleets of exotic cars or his beautiful multi-million dollar mansion that spread across the coast, facing the vivid view of the Atlantic, nothing else made sense to a man like him, he couldn't understand how his wife could just die like that, if money could buy life, Lucas could have gotten nine just like the cats.
Lucas ran into depression feeling his entire life and essence was vague, he felt he could not protect the only thing he cherished the most in his life, suddenly, his wealth looks useless to him as he would seat in the living room for days in his PJ without a shower, drinks himself to stupor most of the times, all the maids, butlers and servants in the house may have never seen their Boss this way, it became tiresome as there is little they could do with Lucas, he was like a god to them.
One morning one of his managers came to see him and find him in this terrible shape, for Lucas was on the floor, he was unkept, and he looked like he hasn't had his bath since he lost his wife. The manager Mr. Harry, was a very straightforward man, in his early fifties, he has been in the family since the inception of the company, he began to work in the company when he was a boy when Lucas's father LateRobinson'son judge found him on the streets, a young man fresh out of college without any clue of what he wanted to do with his life.
Mr. Robinson was in his Lemo, I think he must have been waiting for someone, and indeed he was waiting for someone; it was his wife Mrs. Robinson. I would never forget that evening in the city, right in front of the Eleganza cafe, I saw the dark glass rolled down and I saw a man, with a cigar in his mouth and sunglasses, and when Mr.Robinson called me, I moved closer and the nice fragrance greeted me as he gave me his complimentary card and asked me to come to see him 8 am the next day, shortly after Mrs.Robinson came to join him in the lemon as they drove off.
" Mr.Lucas, you won't whisk your life away like this, I know how much work your father and grandfather put in to make you who you are," Harry said as he called the butlers to raise him "it won't be on my watch" Harry whispered to Lucas's ears as they took him to shower.
Mr. Harry was already in the antic room having some tea when he saw Mr. Lucas already dressed in his favorite colored suit, smelling like himself. "Thank you, Harry, I didn't know I smelled so bad until I was in the shower," Lucas said as the two men laughed one of the maids brought Lucas a fine coffee just the way he likes it as the two men discussed extensively, and concluded as Lucas told Mr. Harry of his schedule the next day, Mr. Lucas won't be available to attend to any meeting until Monday, he wants to go on a hike and see if he can fully regain himself as the manager Harry left in his black sedan SUV.
Lucas still misses his beloved wife, she is someone that he would miss for the rest of his life, Lucas was certain of it that there would never be another like Beatrice. They say a man can only truly fall in love once in a life, he will continue to miss Beatrice as long as he lives. All his life has always revolved around finding the right woman, having the right woman was all that matters to him and then God gave him Beatrice, the most beautiful woman he ever saw.
Lucas would never think the finest things in life would be in some of the darkest places, he wasn't looking yet he found her, and he found her alone in that coffee store reading her newspaper while waiting for a client. I couldn't remember what it was that I was doing there but I was there the most important thing, I think I had judged in the Pentagon luxury hotel just opposite the coffee store. I remembered that I ran down on my PJ into the elevator as if my life depended on it. Everyone thought I was crazy but I had a reason as my bodyguards knew what I had seen and they just run along.
Here I am in front of the most beautiful woman, with so much peace, the ambiance and energy that surrounded her was top-notch, I couldn't help but stare. "Are you ok"? She asked in such a wonderful voice, the finest I ever heard, something inside of me wanted her to speak some more and she raised her eyebrow as she sips from her cup of tea.
She took a second look at me and said " I hope you will be a good boy and not mess things up for me, I have been tailing this deal for weeks, please don't ruin it ok" she said in a gentle voice, she gave me this look like a wizard who just said a spell and was sure the spell was active. I nodded my head in total submission.
