Sam managed to get the team together after school for a few of the practices her coach asked for but it was still difficult since the other players had much more active social lives. She liked being active with team and she couldn’t wait for the season to start even though it did probably mean less time with Meri.
After a few more weeks, it was time to shift to formal active season practices because the first game would be soon upon them. Ms. Hamm was now running the practices and her first task was to make sure the girls were in shape. She ran the girls almost the entire practice and when they weren’t running, they were doing strenuous drills. Even Sam, who thought she was in good shape, found herself tired.
