It was the first Monday morning of the new year and Sam was dreading this day because of what happened just before the holiday break. She saw Meri often over the break but she hadn’t talked to Janie since that night when the she exposed their relationship. Hearing she was doing fine from Meri wasn’t the same as talking with her. She was still worried this might have damaged her friendship with Janie. There were going to be so many questions regarding the relationship with her sister. By now, the entire school must know about it and surely feel the need to inundate her with questions about it. She only cared about how she would deal with Janie’s inquiries regarding it.
