Chapter 42
The next couple of weeks were uneventful with school restarting for Meri and Ms. Hamm attempting to get the team back in shape, there wasn’t much time for Sam and Meri to see each other. Their relationship mostly consisted of talking on the phone, which was something Sam wasn’t a fan of doing. The only time they saw each other was briefly at games.
After an easy game, the team would be playing a stretch of tough opponents again. The team and Sam were getting more attention and this time the reporter came to practice and asked more questions of other players and the coach. The team had yet to lose a game this season and it meant a big deal to the school and the diocese.
Sam found it a bit hypocritical that the girl the school was ready to dump as if she was yesterday’s garbage
