So, I was stuck in a car with my least favorite werewolf. I'll give you a hint. His name starts with L, and ends with iam. You guessed it! My Alpha mate! You're a genius! Just kidding. (A/N No offense to your IQ)
At the moment he was on the phone whining about how he couldn't explain his shitty predicament over the phone. What about my shitty predicament? Do he actually think I want to be here? With him? Even hell is better than being within a one mile radius of him. I pity the person he was telling it to.
He sighed and turned to look at me with his serious alpha face, and it was my turn to sigh. "What the hell do you want now?"
"I need you to promise me something."
"f**k no."
"Why not?"
"I don't have to explain myself to you, but if it will make you shut up, it will be worth it. Because, I don't make promise unless either it is for my well being, someone I care about's well being, or I don't plan on keeping it."
"In other words, your promises don't mean s**t. I get it. Just please don't start any fights. I know firsthand how annoying you can be, but you got lucky earlier, it may not work out the same again. I may not be able to protect you next time you piss someone off. I don't want you getting hurt. " He pulled his car over. "If you get hurt, so do I."
I knew there was a catch, he didn't seem like the person to act for someone else's benefit. "I won't get hurt. I will be fine. If someone tries to hurt me, I apologize in advance." I sneered, " I'll be fine. " I paused and stared him dead in the eyes, "I promise."
Satisfied by my statement he slowly began to drive again. "Good because we're here." Yay. The momentcar came to a stop, and I was out before he could even blink. If I had spent another second in that goddamn car, I probably would've blown the f*****g door off.
"Liam! You're back!" I heard a voice behind me, and turned. She was beautiful. Brown hair and blue eyes, flawless skin. She looked like a super model. No joke.
She instantly leaned in to kiss Liam. I was bored of this already. I pointed to one of the bystanding wolves, "You."
He looked irritated, "What do you want? And why should I care?" A temper, perfect. I like him. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure, but I want a soda and a lawn chair. Spit spot."
"No." Well, I changed my mind. I don't like him very much anymore. He's nothing but a little b***h. I reached out to his mind to use my powers.
"I asked you for something, didn't I?"
"Yes, master. I will get on that. Right away, master." Don't you love it when people just obey their superiors.
He quickly returned with a chair and about twelve different kinds of drinks. "Sorry, master. I didn't know what kind you wanted, so I brought all of them." He shrugged.
"Thank you darling. You've been quite helpful." I grabbed one, sat down, closed my eyes, and began to relax.
"Umm, hi."
I opened my eyes to see the brunette from earlier. "Can I help you?"
"I'm Chelsea. It's nice to meet you, I think."
"Is it?" I raised an eyebrow. "Who are you exactly?"
"The Luna of this pack."
I smiled. Liam had a fake mate. Finally, some good luck. "In that case, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm sorry to admit that I had no part in my coming here. Your mate really didn't give me much of a choice."
"Sorry about that. I know he can be pushy sometimes."
"I should introduce myself. You can call me Alex, but not for much longer. I'll be leaving soon."
"What? No. You're stay--," Liam stopped himself.
"Liam, if she doesn't want to stay, she doesn't have to. Stop going all , 'controlling Alpha male'."
"Yeah, Liam. Why would I stay anyway? I'm not a wolf. Even if I was, I've never really been one for packs, or whatever."
"You have to stay because..." He looked at Chelsea, "She's my mate. My real mate."
Chelsea looked heartbroken. I knew she really cared about him. She nodded sadly. "I get it. I knew this day would come. I have a mate out there, too."
He walked away guiltily. I chose that moment to speak. "Chelsea, I'm leaving. Leaving Liam. You can have him."
A tear fell from her eye, "But you're his mate. He'll never stop. He'll follow you anywhere. That's the way it works."
She began to walk toward me with a murderous look in her eye. "I love him. I would do anything for him, but I can't have him as long as you are alive."
"Chelsea, you don't want to do this."
"You're right, but I don't want to live without him. I'm selfish."
She put her knife to my throat. I grabbed her hand and tapped into my powers. "I was serious. You will regret it."
I seared off her skin and she screamed. "Holy s**t! Where the hell did you get powers?"
"Funny story, actually. That's where I got them."
She attacked again, this time slower, easier to anticipate. "You shouldn't have done that. This is a fight you are fated to lose."
I snapped her neck and set her body on fire. "No! My baby!"
"Can I help you?" I have said that a lot lately. Jesus. Some people.
"You killed our daughter!" She shifted and the guy behind quickly followed. Oh. They're related. That makes sense. No wonder she was so emotional. I understand now.
After I killed them and set their bodies on fire, I ventured off to find Liam, who had run off during my fight with the girl. Shows how much he cares. It's about as much as I do. That's not much.
Liam was talking with some dude. Must be his beta. Oof. "Hey. I had to kill that girl from earlier. Chelsea?"
"Why? And how did you survive a fight with a wolf?"
"Wait you killed the Luna?"
"Yes. Are you deaf? I just said that. Also, some dumb bitches didn't get that by attacking me they would be signing their own death warrant, I ended up killing too. I think they were her parents or something."
Liam's jaw was hanging open, beta boy on the other hand didn't have the same reaction. "You killed the Gamma family?"
"Yeah, sorry. I didn't mean to. Okay that's a lie. But karma goes where karma's owed."
"I'm gonna kill you." Wait, what?
"Excuse me?"
"They were my only family left. I can't let you live knowing that." I know the feeling.
"I'm sorry for your loss, but you can't hurt me."
"Why the f**k not? Cause I think I could rip your head off, and no one would care." That's probably true, but I just come straight back to life.
"I thought being an Alpha's mate would give me some respect." I shrugged.
He bowed, a sign of respect in the packs. "Luna, it's an honor."
"WHAT THE f**k!"
And that's when the real f****d up s**t began.
