I was slowly killing myself. No sleep, no food, not stopping. Ronan had given me nothing. And there is no way in hell I would ask Damien for help. Pun intended.
I had gotten nowhere. And I still didn't have proof that Edalyn really existed, and Ronan wasn't faking this as a ploy to keep himself alive. And his promises really didn't mean much. Even when I was threatening his life.
"Ronan, you better f*****g tell me where to find her because according to every lineage book written, she doesn't exist." I spoke as I paced the room, every once in a while looking up to make sure he was still tied to the chair where I had left him.
I could tell they could feel the heat radiating off my skin in waves. It happened when I got mad. Or stress. An unwanted downside of my powers.
"You know what I want. Once I have that, you can have her." I scowled at him.
"I'm not having s*x with you. So it seems to me what you actually want is to expire before your due date."
He smirked, "You won't kill me. You need me."
"Wrong. I have your son. I don't need you."
I turned to Sebastian, "How do you feel about us going on a trip with me?" He smiled.
"Where are we going?"
"Would you mind taking me to meet the rest of your family?" By that I meant our sister, of course.
"You'll love my home. I'd be happy to take you there." Ronan's smirk dropped as his son spoke.
"See, asshole? He's done trying to impress you. You're a horrible person, and an even worse father. And my betrothed is weirdly loyal to me, not you," I sneered at him.
"You're never going to find her." He stated that like he was the smartest person in the universe hiding his favorite toy. It was childish and wrong.
"Well, me personally, I had been held by my father for 80 years. I know how diabolical homicidal people like you think, and I know how to escape them. If someone mattered that much to you, you'd keep them close. But not so close that you purposely introduce them to someone like me. Goodbye, Ronan."
In a flash he ripped off the chains tying him to the chair, sped up to me, and pushed me up against the wall. I peeked in his mind, noticing that his mental block was gone. Must've worn off. I looked around, and saw a lot of bad things, but one stood out. I saw what he wanted to do.
Sebastian tried to help, but I pushed him away. I had to do this, thought I totally didn't want to, I didn't think I would end up regretting it. So I did what I didn't want to do, "DAD!" I screamed his name, hoping he would respond.
Damien appeared out of thin air, "What?" He was annoyed. At me. Hopefully, I could redirect some of that annoyance.
"Damien, he's hurting me." I winced intentionally, to sell my story, "He wants me to sleep with him and have a kid so he can take your place."
Damien fumed, like there was literal smoke coming out of his ears. He has pyrokinesis too. (A/N For those of you that don't know, pyrokinesis is the ability to create and/or control fire) "I let you into my home, and you do something like this? I gave my daughter to your son. She is my greatest asset. My heir. I gave your bloodline a chance at the throne. To rule. You surprised me, Ronan."
Ronan fell to his knees, "Your Majesty, I didn't-- I swear I wasn't-- She's lying. Sir, please."
Damien wasn't convinced by his plea for mercy. That or he just didn't care what he had to say. Nothing could change his mind once he thought something.
I grinned wickedly, "Father, should I take him to your -um- personal chambers?" Torture chambers, or course.
His eyes glittered with excitement, "No, Scarlett, I think I'll deliver him there myself. There are a few things I have to do there anyway."
That's one thing we had in common. We like to hurt people who have hurt our pride.
"Sire, please. I'm sorry. Please," he begged.
"Save it. He's not listening anyway, " I snapped at Ronan. He deserved this. Every second of what was to come. And I was enjoying his suffering.
I turned to talk to Sebastian, but he was no longer there.
I walked to his bedroom to find him packing, "Hey, are you okay? You just ran out and I got worried."
"Yeah, I'm fine." He didn't look at me.
I turned his chin so he was looking at me. He was angry.
"Sebastian, what's wrong?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
He scoffed at me, "He's my dad. You lied about him to your father. The actual devil. You can't just do that. Turn him over to Damien for no reason." He looked away again and continued shoving things into a bag again." And then you act like you did nothing wrong. Like nothing happened."
"Wow. You think all that was a lie? That I could make that up? I didn't." My imagination isn't that good, "I looked in his head. No matter what he's done to me he's still your dad. I couldn't hurt him without hurting you. I get that. And he's all you have left."
I shook my head, "I lost everything. So, yeah, I get it. And if Ronan really means that much to you, I'll request that he lives. Personally."
His lips twitched upward a little and he walked over to me, "Why? You deserve your revenge. What he did to your mom," anger flashed in his eyes, "it's unforgivable."
"I'd do it for you. Right now, it seems you're all I have. I don't have Luca, or my friends, my dad hates me, and I'm not sure we'll ever find our sister. All I have is you, damn it."
He smiled sadly before nodding, grabbing my face, and crashing his lips to mine.
