As the days passed, the situation escalated. Liam’s frustration boiled over, and he found himself lashing out at Emily. The weight of the accusations hung heavily over them, and he struggled to reconcile the woman he loved with the possibility that she could betray him in such a horrific way.

Emily’s eyes widened in shock, tears brimming as she tried to defend herself. “Liam, please! I didn’t do anything! You have to believe me! Frank is lying!”

“Lying?” Liam spat, his anger boiling over. “He’s the one who’s going to jail because of you! You’ve put me in a position where I have to choose between you and my family!”

“Liam, I love you! I would never hurt you!” she pleaded, her voice trembling.

But Liam was too consumed by rage and confusion to listen. “You’ve made this whole situation worse! You’ve put my life in danger, He turned away with his wheelchair, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

“Please, just think about what you’re saying,” Emily said, her voice breaking. “I’ve been here for you every step of the way. I would never harm you!”

But Liam was not in a place to hear her. The accusations had taken root in his mind, and he felt betrayed and cornered. “I can’t do this anymore,” he said, his voice cold. “I’m calling the police. I’m going to tell them to arrest you.”

“Liam, don’t!” Emily cried, desperation in her eyes. “You can’t do this! You’ll ruin my life!”

But Liam was resolute, he reached out for his phone, his heart pounding with anger and confusion.

“I want to press charges against Emily,” he said, his voice steady but filled with pain.

“Liam, are you sure about this? There’s still an ongoing investigation, and we need to be careful about how we proceed.”

“I don't care!” Liam snapped. “She’s the reason I’m in this situation. She’s the one who paid Frank to tamper with my brakes. I want her arrested.”

The officer hesitated, clearly conflicted. “We need to gather more evidence before we can take any action. Are you certain you want to go down this path?”

“Yes,” Liam said, his voice firm. “I want her arrested. I can’t trust her anymore.”

Meanwhile, Emily stood beside him in hospital room, her heart shattered. She couldn’t believe that Liam had turned against her. The man she loved, the man she had fought for, was now accusing her of the very thing she had been trying to help him escape.
