The fate of two - unlovable

my name is jj, jj Henderson to be exact and I just turned 19 I have long black hair as dark as crow feathers and eyes that are as green as apples, I live in Alaska in a small town named willo falls about 45 minutes out of Anchorage but it is not my home I don't really know where home is since I never really had one. my parent gave me away when I was five so I don't know much about them other then the last time I saw my mother, she handed me over to the state turned and walked away never looking back. and i am unlovable, well that's what I've always been told by the people I was placed with all those cold, hungry nights and the neglect and abuse I suffered at the hands the so called foster parents but now I am grown and living with Mrs Cotterson. I met Mrs Cotterson the day my foster parents kicked me out for the first time. I was sitting on the steps of the apartment building where I lived. she was walking buy like she always dose at 4 in the afternoon but the difference today is she stopped and was looking in to space like she was in a trance like state. then she turned to me and said "chin up girl this won't last forever" we became fast friends every day she would walk past my apartment building at 4 pm and I would be sitting on the steps waiting to say hello. she also took me out for dinner. Mrs Cotterson is a tall woman at 6,3 if I had to guess with pure white skin the colour of snow, dark gray hair that looks like straw and the blackest eyes I've ever seen ( with the personality of a rhino) but she respects me and tells me how it is even if it hurt (like my dream) or should I say the dream. (The Dream) i am walking through the darkness but it is so dark i can't even see my feet, I'm scared and I'm running my chest feels so tight like some thing is squeezing it from the inside.I have sweat and tears running down my face I can hardly see I have to constantly wipe my face. then I see him but I can't see his face, it's like he's just out of focus and hidden in the shadows I run to him but I never seem to reach him. I don't know who he is or where he comes from all I know is that he needs me and reaches for me but then I wake up and he is gone. that is my dream I started having them when I turned 18 I don't understand what it means but I am determined to find out. it has to mean something this mysterious stranger that seems to haunt my dreams. Mrs Cotterson thinks I'm just lonely but I know she knows more then what she tells me for when I first mentioned the dream im sure she had the look of sadness and something close to fear in her eyes but then it was gone. she refuses to discuss the dreams any more saying it's just my own insecurity manifesting into dreams. im sitting in the coffee shop with Jennifer my bestfriend and a (rabbit shifter) that I met at a bar one night when my foster parents finaly gave me the boot. thinks I'm right. "you know Mrs Cotterson is like" Jennifer said "that woman knows more then she says" "i know, I just don't understand why she won't tell me jen". "she is just being protective that's all", "just give her time she'll come around and tell you when she ready jj" Jennifer replays with an apologetic look in her eyes. "ok your right jen" but what Jennifer didn't know was that I felt like I was running out of time. "well jen I better head off to work, be for ben and matty give me a scalding for being late again" jen looks at me with a smirk "ha how many days this week"? I tap my chin thinking "four day I think" "ok jj well you better head off, give me a ring later ok. " ok jen" I yell back as I head for the door I get out on the street and head to my old silver Toyota, she's a bit rusty but she is reliable and gets me from A to B so that's all I need right now especially with what I earn. I head to Ben and matty's auto repair's, it's quite large garage with bright red rollers doors that are connected to the office front and three rooms in the back. with an old faded sign in big red letters says Ben and Matty Auto Repairs. it looks like a regular old auto repair shop from the front but in truth it is a lot more then that. run by the local vampires, they may look big and scary at first but their just two big teady bears. ben and matty also deal in weapon repairs for the local hunter's and are the local healers for the supernatural community in this region. all the locals come around for Ben's medical remedies, healing energy and advise. matty is very experienced in weapon repair's. ben matty's father and the fairer of the too with short sandy blonde hair and purple eyes stands at 6 ft and built like a brick house. matty on the other hand has tan skin with long chestnut hair and these amazing blue eyes and is quite stickie for 5'8. I pull up in the rear car parking lot and hop out of my Toyota turning around to lock my car do I freeze feeling as though someone is stairing at me I look around but see no one. shrugging it of as my imagination. I head to the rear of the garage and take the steps two at a time, walking through the door I head to the work bench where matty is working on a set of throughing knife some one dropped off the day before. "hay matty" I call out he turns to me with a smile "hay jj on time for once ay. the old man will be pleased" I smile back " oh cool is that a electrical wristband neutralizer" I ask with a spark of excitement in my eyes. "it sure is, ay jj would you mind handling the front desk for me it's just I have more then enough to handle with the repairs back here and dad down at the local hunters market trying to round up more business" he states with a desperate look in his eyes " yeah sure thing" I call out as head towards the front desk halfway up the hall I stop as a wave of dizziness hits me. what the hell is wrong with me I think to myself. as I use a hand on the wall to support myself and my free hand to rub my temple. as another wave of dizziness hits me bringing me to my knee's. I start gasping for breath like a fish out of water I try to call out to matty or just get his attention but collapse with my face pressed against the floor this is it, I'm about to friggin die! and it starts to go dark slowly my vision is fading and then I black out. the order of asmodeus Axis pov - I hide in the shadows watching her as she leaves the coffee shop hoping in my car as silent as the wind. she doesn't even seem to notice me following her the corner of my lips curve a little, flint will be pleased I think to my self. as second in command of the order of asmodeus I am the one entrusted with the more delicate surveillance. so here I am following this girl to her place of work. she dose pretty much the same thing every day their is nothing special about this girl. I grit my teeth and my phone rings I answer it "axis here" " how is my prize" flint asks flint the leader of the order and a collector of sorts artifacts, talismans, scrolls and people any thing that can add to his power really. "she is fine I still don't understand what is so special she's just human" I grumble. "oh axis she is more than a human a lot more and soon she will be mine" I exhale loudly "fine" " it's time to retrieve her and bring her in to the order" he states firmly "yes sir consider it done" I answer finally some action. " and axis don't mess this up we've waited to long to lose her now" the phone disconnects. I watch as she pulls up to the rear parking lot of the dump she calls work, I slip from my car and creep along the shadows edging close with every step I take. I notice her lack of movement and how she starts looking around as if she is searching for something I freeze. she shrugs her shoulders and proceeds toward the back entrance. "for f**k sake" I clench my fists now I'll have to deal with the two vampires. as she enters the rear door I creep with stealth that only a leopard shifter could possess the target and vampire employer are discussing where she is to be working this evening I don't seance the the other vampire in the building. this might be easier then I thought I say to my self the girl starts to walk away to the front of the store her footsteps fading in to the distance. I plan to lie in wait till she heads home just before dawn. then I will abduct her pretty simple I smile to myself. I am momentarily distracted movement behind me somewhere in the trees and vegetation I do not dare turn around and alert the person that I'm aware of there presence and that's when I see it. two bright green orbs in the vegetation to my right at that moment it strike to fast to see just a flash of scales and a searing pain on my right side as I go flying through the air connecting with the side of the building driving the air from my lungs. lifting myself off the grown with a groan deep claw Mark's I feel my blood dripping down my side and over my hand and try to contain my instincts to change what the f**k was that and where the hell did it come from. realizing I have no other choice but to retreat and dreading to have to inform flint to the situation of tonight's events I flee in to the shadows struggling to stay up on my feet while holding my injured side. why I am not healing is worrying but I will be return for Flint's prize or suffer the consequences. as I reach my car and slide in to the drivers seat a searing pain going up my side taking my breath away I insert the key and turning the ignition as the engine comes to life I drive away fading in to the night. matty's pov working at my bench finishing of the last throwing knife so sharp it could cut through just about anything a proud smile spreading over my face. I love my work it dose help being the best Weapons Engineer, gunsmith and armorer who repairs, modifies and designs the weapons in this region. it's all about the weight, shape, velocity, aerodynamics, and impact in order to design weapons that hit their target and fulfill their mission, efficiently and effectively. weather its knife's, guns, or crossbow ect. I deal with all types mechanical, electrical, and computer systems – including radar, sonar, explosives, and ballistics – into designs for missiles, bombs, rockets, and mines so if you need a weapon no matter what it is I'm your go to guy. sheathing the throughing knife's and putting them to the side I gather the electrical neutralizer wristbands I can't wait to get started with it. my senses are on high alert when a large bang coming from outside of the shop draws my attention putting the neutralizer down and using my vampiric speed I'm out side in seconds their was signs of a violent aultication I could smell the blood from where I stood but their was no one their not that I could sense around the building or in the area out of place other then the blood trail that led out to the street then I remember jj I speed around the side of the shop through the back door heading towards the front but it was deserted pulling out my phone I ring the only person I know that can help in this situation " dad jj missing and their is blood out side that leads to the street" I blurt out "calm down matty tell me what happened " ben asked in his soothing voice. " I was working and I heard a loud noise out side like someone through something at the side of the shop, so I went to check it out and their was no one their but a blood trail that led to the street". "I thought of jj and went to check on her and she wasn't in the office, not even her cent remained like she never made it their" I let out a long breath trying to calm myself once I finished I waited for my father's reply impatiently paceing the length of the office. when finally my father said in a concerned tone "don't touch any thing do you hear me wait till I get there I'll we'll work this out and find jj" the phone went dead I continued to pace when my dad came through the front entrance. releasing a breath that I didn't even realize I was holding I breathed out " dad thank God I was going out of my mind!" " it ok you need to calm down and walk me through what happened but you can't do that when your so worked up you may forget something" ben said in a calm soothing tone. "ok, ok" taking in a few deep breathes I went through the event of the night, starting with how I just finished with the throwing knifes and I heard the commotion out side. I took dad outside to where the blood trail started shuffling my feet with an urgency I've never felt before. ben walked towards the blood trail and nealt down dipping his fingers in to the crimson pool at his feet bringing it to his nose. with a shake of his head the looked up at me his puples enlarged with the sent of blood at his feet "this is the blood of a cat shifter son, this is not jj's blood" I let out a sigh of relief "then where the hell is she?" "I don't no matty but their is more then one scent out here, the other is not one I recognize" ben stated with a look of confusion that flicked across his face. ben turned to his son "since I am the best tracker here I'll go see if I can find a lead or trace of jj's scent and you stay here incase jj dose turn up" "ok" I said turning back to my father but he was already gone. I walked in to the rear entrance and started to pace again through the back up the hall to the office and back again rubbing my hand down my face another scent I thought what did my old man pick up that I didnt pacing in frustration witch felt like hours. my father ran through the front entrance I stopped mid stride "well did you find anything I asked" with a hopeful tone. ben shook his head with a look of confusion, sadness and something close to anger in his purple eyes. he bowed his head in defeat " we will have to notify the authority it's getting close to dawn and is to dangerous to continue" I looked up at him in anger that burned to my core " so that it we just give up when JJ could be out their and needs us?" I growled "no I never said we would give up let me make some calls and see if they can continue the search" ben calmly states. grumbling to himself as he walked to the back room to make some calls. jj's pov she awoke on the floor of the hall the dizziness completely gone but a strong urge to hunt, with a hunger you could only describe as insatiable gliding towards the front entrance and down the step she hid in the bushes. scensing her pray leaning up against the side of the shop she laid in wait and then she struck with a speed she didn't know she possessed her claws ripping through his side like butter. scensing a presence, she watched as her pray made his escape "vampire" she hissed in displeasure and slithered in to the night for more pray as she made her way through the back streets of willo falls her scenes picked up on raised voices in the distance a man and a women in the mist of a dispute JJ watched in excitement, the man grabbed the woman by the throat and slammed her against the fence in the narrow alleyway with such force the fence shook. " I told you enough b***h never disrespecte me in front of my friends" he yelled his speech slurred "yyes, Il'm ssorry" she whimpered he released his hold on her neck and she cowered in fear. with a bone chilling scream the woman fell to the ground unable to move or run just frozen in fear she watched as the man was attacked by a creature with its momentum it wrap around him and immobilise him squeezeing tighter with every breath he took, slowly his life fading till his heart stopped blood dripping from his eyes, nose, ears and mouth the last thing the woman saw as she got up to flee was the creatures large jaws opening wide to devour the man she onced love. the moment I consumed my prey I felt the hunger and desire that I felt so strongly slowly slip away leaving me feeling full, satisfied and utterly drained my body started to seize and muscle constrict so tight I thought they would snap the pain was excruciating and then it was gone. I lieing completely naked in the narrow alleyway I was was coated with sweat and exhausted shivering in the cold night air. where am I, and why am I naked and where are my bloody clothes? i thought to my self confusion and disoriented I slowly got to my feet. trying to recall the last memory I had of that night walking up the hall towards the front desk at ben and matty's and the dizziness why can't I remember cursing myself. slowly walking down the alley ducking behind a Bush or building to hide my nudity from passersby and on coming traffic luckily at this time of night in Willo fulls it was next to none. as I slowly made my way home through the back streets finally reaching the front of Mrs Cotterson house a cute little bungalow with a lovely garden out front I went to the pot plant to the side of the door and retrieved the spare key hidden underneath and pushing it into the lock trying to be as quiet as possible, opening the door and slipping inside I headed towards my room deciding I was to exhausted to take a shower I slipped on my cotton pajamas and and slid under the sheets pulling the blanket up to my chin. with in minutes my eyes started to close as sleep claimed me i was walking through the darkness but it is so dark i can't even see my feet, I'm scared and I'm running my chest feels so tight like some thing is squeezing it from the inside.I have sweat and tears running down my face I can hardly see I have to constantly wipe my face. then I see him but I still can't see his face it's like he's just out of focus and hidden in the shadows I run to him call out "who are you?, what do you want?" I run and run never shortening the distance between us. he's reaching for me waking up suddenly panting and covered in sweat, with a groan I flop back on my bed and pull the pillow over my face, to tossing the blanket and swing my legs over the side of the bed grumbling as my feet hit the cold floor, I really need to get a rug I thought to myself. as I dragged my stiff body to the bathroom I peered in to the mirror to see my dishevelled reflection with leaves and twigs in my hair and mud smudged over half of my face and down one arm. I had dark circles under my eyes and a pale complexion i looked like road kill and felt just as bad removing my pajamas. I exhaled loudly and turned on the shower getting under the hot spray I hissed as the scolding water hit my skin scrubbing all the muck from my body and washing my hair twice once I was satisfied I turned off the water and rapped a towel around my body as I exited the bathroom heading back to my room I grabbed some clothes nothing fancy just a red tank top and a pair of black leggings I headed towards the kitchen. I could hear Mrs Cotterson moving around the kitchen and the faint sound of the radio playing in the background. I smelled the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. entering the kitchen Mrs Cotterson turned to me with a cup of coffee in each hand. handing me one I smiled "thank you I really needed this" I said while taking a whiff of the delicious creamy liquid. I looked up to Mrs Cotterson looking at me with a worried expression "I didn't here you come in last night, and had a strange call from matty last night he was quite worried" she stated "oh I forgot about matty, I'll ring him to let him know I'm fine. I don't know what time I made it home last nigh" we sat in a comfortable silence while we drank our coffee. after I finished my coffee I went to the sink and rinsed my cup placing it on the sink. heading to my room to retrieve my phone when it hit me my phone would be at the shop, alone with my car and clothes " ugh" turning toward the lounge room to use the landline. picking up the phone dialing matty's mobile "hay matty it's JJ here" I paused what could I say I didn't even know what happened last night I sighed " sorry I ran out on you last night some thing came up and I had to go, I'll fill you in when I drop over to pick up my car and stuff" I hung up the phone and ran my hand down my face. what was I gonna tell matty when I rocked up at the shop, knowing him he wouldn't be satisfied with anything I would come up with. " I'm going for a run" I called out to Mrs Cotterson opening the front door I walk outside and started jogging down the street.
