''Call the cops.'' Jackson told Stiles.
''No.'' Stiles shook his head.
''Wha-what do you mean no?'' Jackson said, glaring at Stiles.
''I mean no. You wanna hear it in Spanish? Noh!," Stiles glared back. "Look, Derek killed three people. We don't know what he's armed with.''
''Your dad's armed with a complete sheriff's department," Jackson said. "Call him!''
''I'm calling.'' Lydia said, taking her phone out.
''No. Lydia, would you just hold on a sec-'' Stiles tried to stop her but Jackson pulled him back.
''Yeah, I'm in Beacon Hills High School," Lydia said on the phone. "We're trapped and we need you to... But-" Lydia unglued her ear from her phone and stared at us in disbelief. "She hung up on me.''
''What?'' I said.
''The police hung up on you?'' Allison said.
''They said they got a tip of warning calls about the school.'' Lydia explained
''Then call again.'' Allison urged.
''It's no use. They won't believe us.'' Stiles said.
''What-what is this?," Allison placed her hands on her head in frustration. "Why does Derek want to kill us? Why is he killing anyone?''
No one said anything. We didn't know what to say. Allison, Jackson, and Lydia were the only ones who didn't know about Scott being a werewolf, and I didn't think that Scott was planning on telling them any time sooner.
We all turned to him. ''Why is everyone looking at me?''
''Is he the one that started the attack?'' Lydia asked.
''No-I don't know.'' he answered.
''Is he the one who called the police?'' Allison asked.
''I don't know.'' he snapped at her.
Looking hurt and upset because of what was happening, and because of how Scott had talked to her, Allison turned around to face the other side of the room. Stiles took Scott to a corner of the room and the rest of us stayed in the other. ''I can't take this anymore, I'm freaking out.'' Allison said covering her face with her hands.
''It's okay, Allison. Everything's going to be alright.'' I tried to comfort her by placing an arm around her shoulders as she put her head on my shoulder, not removing her face from her hands.
''Alright, you ass-heads!,'' Jackson called Scott and Stiles. ''New plan. Stiles calls his useless dad to bring some of the cops. Do we go with that?''
After seeming to ponder it for a moment, Scott turned to Stiles. ''He's right. Tell him the truth if you have to. Just call him.''
''I'm not watch my dad getting eaten alive.'' Stiles said, shaking his head.
He turned around, so he wasn't facing on us anymore, with his hands placed on his hips. ''Alright, give me the phone.'' Jackson said, putting a hand on his shoulder to turn him around, but when he did Stiles punched Jackson right in the face.
Even though it wasn't the right moment, I still felt some satisfaction when Stiles punched Jackson. But, apparently, Allison didn't feel the same way. ''Jackson! Are you okay?'' she said, kneeling beside him.
I stood next to Stiles and watched as Allison gave him a look of disbelief. ''Nice one.'' I whispered in Stiles' ear.
''Thanks.'' he whispered back, nodding his head once and taking out his phone. ''Dad, hey, It's me... and It's your voicemail. Look, I need you to call me back, now. Like right now-''
The constant hitting of the door started as the beast tried to get inside the classroom, making us all jump and step back. ''We're at the school. Dad, we're at the school.''
The door was about to open. ''Oh my God.'' Lydia kept muttering next to me.
''The kitchen," Stiles looked as if he suddenly had an idea. "The door out of the kitchen that leads to the stairwell.''
''Which only goes up!''
''Up is better than here.''
We didn't think about it anymore as we started to run as fast as we could. We ran up the stairs that led us to a hall. Then, we entered the Chemistry classroom and Scott pushed a chair against the door. The howls from the other side of the door could still be heard. Stiles placed a hand on Scott's shoulder. Allison's head was down, her eyes closed in fear. Jackson was looking around, with wide eyes. Lydia covered her mouth with her hand, and so did I. Then, we saw a shadow passing by, through the tiny window on the door, and the howls vanished. Everyone let out a sigh of relief at the same time.
''Jackson, how many people can fit in your car?'' Scott asked.
''Five, and someone could go in another's lap.'' Jackson replied.
''Five? I barely fit in the back.'' Allison whispered/hissed.
''It doesn't matter. There's no getting out without drawing attention.'' Stiles said.
''The janitor has a key.'' Scott told Stiles.
''You mean, his body has a key.'' Stiles clarified.
Then they seemed to start an argument with each other in whispers, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. But then Scott walked towards us and announced, ''We're getting the key.''
''Are you serious?'' Allison whispered.
''Someone has to get the key, so we can get out.'' he told her, walking closer to her.
''You can't go out there with that thing outside,'' Allison hissed. "How will you even defend yourself?"
He stared at her again, and then picked up a giant stick with a little hand at the end of it that was laying around in a corner of the classroom. ''Well, this is better than nothing.'' he said as he eyed it.
''Well there's gotta be something else.'' Stiles said, looking around.
''There is.'' Lydia said, nodding to a shelf full of visible chemicals.
''What do you want us to do, throw acids on it?'' Stiles said.
''No, like a firebomb," Lydia clarified. "And there's everything you need to make a Self-igniting Molotov Cocktail.''
Stiles looked at her as if she had spoken another language. ''Self-igniting-''
"-Molotov Cocktail.'' she finished for him, as if she was explaining something to a brainless person.
Everyone looked at Lydia, surprised that she knew such a thing. The thing was that nobody at school seemed to realize that Lydia was actually one of the smartest people around, even if most of the time she doesn't look like it. Everyone just notices her looks more often. ''What? I've read it somewhere.'' she shrugged as if it was nothing.
''We don't have a key to that, either.'' Stiles said referring to the shelf where the chemicals were locked. But Jackson found a way to open it. He used his elbow...
***
We all watched as Lydia made the Self-igniting Molotov Cocktail, in shocked by her skills, especially Jackson. Maybe after that experience, he would finally stop underestimating her.
When she finished it, she handed the bottle to Scott. ''No, no, no," Allison said all of a sudden. "This is insane! You can't do this, Scott. You cannot go out there.''
''I can't just sit here and wait for Stiles to check his messages.'' Scott said.
''You could die. Don't you get that? He's killed three people!''
''And we're next. Somebody has to do something'' Scott said, making his way to the door
Allison was quick to pull him back. ''Scott, stop! Do you remember... you remember when you told me that I was lying and I had to tell? So do you. You're a horrible liar, and you've been lying all night. Just please, please don't go. Scott, don't leave us. Please.''
I kind of pitied Allison seeing her like that, but, as much as I was worrying about Scott, we had no choice. He wasn't gonna listen to us if we told him to stay, not even Allison could convince him. ''I'll be back later.''
He was about to leave, but Allison grabbed his arm, again. I thought that she was gonna try and convince him again, but instead she kissed him. I turned my head, I definitely didn't want to see that. My eyes landed on Lydia, who gave me a knowing look. I can't let this get to me I thought to myself. Not anymore.
When they pulled away, Scott gave her one last glance before he left. Allison looked at us, her eyes full of tears. ''He's gone.''
I nodded, as well as the others. She slowly sat on a desk and we all stood next to her. ''I don't get why he's supposed to be out there, why he left us. I can't. Ah, s**t, now my hands are shaking.''
''It's okay,'' Jackson said placing his hands on hers. I could tell by the look on Lydia's face that she was fuming. ''Really, It's okay. It's going to be okay.''
Allison nodded and gave him a sad smile. ''Okay.''
I wasn't the only one who saw Jackson's sudden smirk appear and then disappear again. Stiles noticed it, too.
''Jackson, you handed me the bottle I asked you, right?'' Lydia said.
''I gave you exactly what you asked for tonight.'' Jackson replied, turning to her with an annoyed look.
''Yeah. Sure, you did.'' she said with nod.
***
''Scott's taking too long, isn't he?'' Allison said.
''Allison,'' I sighed. ''I know you're worried about him. We all are. But I'm sure that he's alright. He'll be back soon.''
She took a deep breath and nodded. ''You're right.''
''Besides, with that thing Lydia made, I'm sure he's gonna be fine.'' Stiles added.
''He should be'' Lydia muttered.
Suddenly a loud howl was heard, one in the many we'd heard that night. It was loud. Too loud, maybe. ''What the hell is that?'' Allison asked as we all covered our ears.
Jackson kneeled on the floor and let out a cry of pain. Yelling now, he removed the hand he had on the back of his neck and my eyes widened as I saw the line of scratches he had. Werewolf scratches. I looked at Stiles and he back looked at me. He was most certainly thinking the exact same thing that I was thinking. When the yelling stopped, Allison and Lydia helped him get up. ''No, I'm fine,'' his voice turned serious and normal, again, and he stood up as if nothing had just happened. ''Seriously, I'm fine. I'm okay.''
''That didn't sound okay, at all'' Allison said, shooting him a worried look.
''What's wrong with the back of your neck?'' Stiles asked him, trying to touch the back of his neck, but Jackson slapped Stiles' hand off. ''Nothing's wrong.''
''Oh please, Jackson. It's been there for days and you wouldn't tell me what happened.'' Lydia glared at him.
''As if you would actually care.''
''She does care, dumbass'' I stepped in.
''Was I talking to you, Penny?'' he snapped.
''Penny, it's okay.'' Lydia said in a calm tone.
''Alright, can we not argue for a second, here?'' Stiles stood between Jackson and Lydia.
''Where's Scott?," Allison ran a hand through her hair in frustration. "He should be back by now.''
Then, we heard a sound coming from the door. ''Scott.'' Allison breathed.
The sound got louder. ''Scott!'' she called louder and trying to open the door.
''Holy-''
''Scott!'' Allison kept calling while hitting the door repeatedly.
''Stop!,'' Lydia told her. ''Do you hear that?''
''Hear what?'' Stiles said.
''Listen.''
We all looked through the window. The parking lot was now filled with police cars and it was the most beautiful view I had ever seen. ''They're here.'' I said, sighing in relief.
***
''Yes, mom, I'm fine.'' I said through the phone. I really wasn't fine, but she didn't have to know all the details of what happened tonight.
''Are you sure?,'' she said through the phone. "It's getting really late and I thought you'd be home by now."
"I'm on my way now, don't worry," I assured her. "Also, can Lydia stay over? She doesn't cause any trouble."
Mom chuckled. "Of course she can."
''Great," I said. "Then we'll be home soon, okay? You and dad can go to bed now.''
''If you say so," she sighed, you could definitely tell that she wanted to go to sleep as soon as possible.
''What did she say?'' Lydia asked.
''She said that it's fine.'' I told her and then looked at Allison. ''Are you sure you don't wanna come?''
She shook her head no and gave me a small smile. ''No, thanks.''
I put an arm around her shoulder. ''Are you okay?''
She sniffed and looked at me, a sad expression on her face that she stopped trying to hide. ''Honestly, I'm not.''
I nodded. ''I understand. I don't think none of us are.''
She laughed quietly through the tears that were starting to form. ''I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow, guys.''
''Bye'' we said as she walked away.
I saw her approaching Scott once she left us, but that was normal I guess. But I hadn't talked to Scott ever since he left the classroom to save our lives, and I wanted to see how he was. So, when I saw that Allison left him, I made my way towards him. ''Scott!'' I called.
He didn't look at me. He didn't move. ''Scott,'' I said again, placing an hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"
The only thing he did was shake his head. I was about to ask him what happened, but he suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tightly. I was definitely shocked by the action, but I quickly hugged back by wrapping my arms around his neck. Then, he started to sob, leaving more confused than ever. ''Scott, what's wrong? Do you wanna talk about it?''
I felt him shake his head against my hair. ''No.''
''It's okay.'' I said softly.
So, we stayed there, just hugging. I didn't say anything else to him, because I just didn't know what to say, since I wasn't sure what was bothering him. But, letting him cry it out might've helped him a little bit, and hopefully he'd talk to me tomorrow. I just hoped that he, and that we all, felt better by tomorrow...
