A couple of months had gone by. We had the court date and, as Kaci told us, she requested the case to be closed. I wasn’t in the courtroom, because I’m still not allowed, but Jonah told me everything. After everything we’d been through and everything the kids had been through, the judge had no objections to closing the case. We couldn’t have been happier. No more court dates, no more state visits and no more DCYF involvement. It was such a relief to finally close that chapter of our lives. The kids all finished the school year in the middle of June. Illy will be going into 8th grade, her last year in junior high. Tristan will be a junior in high school and Jaxson will be a sophomore. I couldn’t believe these kids were growing so quickly. It’s amazing how fast time flies. July came along
