CHAPTER 18

PROPOSAL

Nero, the renowned pop artist visited the hospital as soon as he received a call that his mother was being admitted. The paparazzi and reporters swamped in like bees but Nero security swung into action.He pushed the door with full force and ran into the VIP ward breathing heavily .

" mum!, mum!, . omg what happened?", he sat beside her

" you're here Nero....I heard you had a shoot today,... i didn't want to disturb you wi..."

Nero cut in immediately

" don't say that mum. You're my only priority "

She gave a weak smile

" Thank you. I love you "

" love you more", he held her hands tightly and kissed it. The doctor walked in

" Good morning Nero"

"Morning doc", he stood up and stretched his hand for a shake"

" shall i have a talk with you?"

" sure", he turned to his mum.." I'll be back in a minute ".

The doctor explained that his mum had a serious heart condition and it has really eaten deep, and there's nothing to do except take drugs to prolong her life span a bit till the heart stops beating.

" I can't lose my mother doc. Help me save her, I'll pay you ".. Nero's hands trembled as he spoke

" you see .my boy, not everything is about money. Money cannot even buy life no matter how precious it is. I suggest you look after your mom and give her the best memories while she is still alive "

He sat speechless.

". I have to attend to another patient ", Dr Brooklyn informed Nero who quietly stood up and strolled to his mum's ward..

"About you going to college, i proposed a deal earlier....i think its right time to let you know ", aunt Sarah spoke

Ethan just stared

" why are you so hushed, at least say something "

" go on with your proposal "

" My husband left me a Newspaper Factory and Nathane is uninterested about helping me out. Since you're matured enough, you should help me run the business please. In return i'll sponsor your education "

" how pathetic. Why do think i'll agree to such an absurd proposal huh?, besides your husband never liked me"

"That's all in the past Ethan. Just forgive and forget "

Ethan scoffs

" coming from aunt that never cared. You think its easy to move on?"

She called calmly

" Ethan I'm sorry for whatever you went through, i mean it broke my heart as well"

" I decline your proposal "

" at the expense of your education?"

Ethan stood up, backed his aunt

" If you really cared, if your so sorry, why give me a condition before helping me?"

" you know....i never enjoyed my marriage. Micheal cheated like crazy, i stayed, endured all his mess because of our son. The only property i struggled to get from him was the Newspaper Factory. Nathane hated Michael and he never wants to be associated with anything that has to do with his dad. Ethan i know Michael wasn't nice but i'm begging you, not because of him, but for my sake, i really need a helping hand please"
