The arranged beginning

At least I didn’t fail

"Mom am back!" I shouted walking towards her room I saw a maid greeting me.

"Where's my mom?" I asked

"She not back yet, young miss" she said politely

I thought she said she not going anywhere today? Maybe something just came up.

"Okay" I said I went back to my room.

I lie down on my bed and I slept for a while. Then I was woken up by my parents voice.

They are back! But why is my mom yelling? And who is she talking to??

I stand up lazily cause I felt tired. But still the voice was really loud

Did any maid make a mistake? But mom was not the type, even if something happened she always corrected them low key or was she in a bad mood

"What!" Shocked by seeing the bedspread stained with the makeup

"Oh my God! I forgot that am still putting on make up. Now the sheets is dirty" I said lazily.

I went to the bathroom to clean up and take a shower. Looking at my self in the mirror "I look so horrible, I wonder how Myles was coping with this face? He’s kind of a nice guy, he’s Funny!" I smiled and then I heard a sound.

It was a message from my phone, I check it and saw that it was a message from Myles.

"Hope you like it?" that was the caption written down the picture.

He's weird! I open the picture and saw him

"Wow" I muttered

He looks so handsome, I wonder who took the picture for him. Everything was so accurate and the view background was perfect. I almost had a nosebleed staring at the picture.

How can someone cheat on this hot guy? He looks so hot and he's a good person I guess?

Am going to do a lot of work, the girl will really regret it 100%

I smirked at the thought

"How can you do this!" Mom yelled

That's right why is she shouting so hard I forgot that she was the one who woke me up. I left the bathroom

"You came to my office to started yelling and now that am back still the same!"

I was about to go inside but I heard my dad voice. He sounded angry so I was taken back.

"Because you didn't care about your family! How could you ever think to do this? You betrayed us!!"

"If I didn't have this contract, we might go bankrupt cause I have spent a lot on this project and it’s not working out and Mr Wilson will help if this works out. This is also for the family! Do you think am also happy with it!"

"Happy with it?" mom scoffed and continued

"Do you know how sad that girl was? All her life she has always wanted to please you, she is a funny and cheerful person but you complained and said she doesn't act like how she's supposed to, she always acts very preserve and bossy just for you and that makes her lonely throughout her childhood!!"

"She graduated with a good grade, not having any boyfriend so that she can be focused and for you not to be disappointed in her. And now for her to marry someone unknown! The wedding date is on?? This Saturday??" Mom shouted at dad and he was speechless and so surprised

I felt hurt hearing that from my mom, I know it's true but I never knew mom noticed that. I always act like there's nothing wrong but still she saw me! She's fighting my dad for a very first time all because of me. She always try to be calm for dad even when he wronged her. She’s a quiet type and always feels like if she fight with dad it might turn out the bad way and it won’t be good especially for me she don’t want me to grow up without a fatherly relationship. Even when they first got married since it’s was an arranged one there’s nothing like love there if he did something wrong she won’t complain even if it affecting her so badly but for the first she didn’t even care

I don't know when I started crying, mom noticed I was at the door when she heard a sound.

"Darling you are back?" She asked with a surprise unhappy face.

I was silent and she came closer to me. She saw my face full of crazy makeup and now that am crying the mascara has washed down on my face

"You look so ugly! Am sorry I couldn't help you, that's why you look this way. I should have done this earlier" she said bitterly

"Mom! You don't have to do this anymore, I had agree to marry him" I said with tears

"What?" She asked with a confused face and dad was also surprised

"Since it's going to help dad business, I would do it. moreover the date has been decided, Saturday and today's is Thursday" I fake a smile

"Maeve!"

"Am sorry!" Dad apologized.

"What are you doing! This may work if you give me more time" she shakes me cause she thought I was unconscious of what am saying.

"It's fine" I said with a smile.

Mom looked at me with a pity face, it's really sad for me to say that, even if I didn't accept Myles plan. I would have done it by hearing what they are both saying. Dad said it's for us, it's really not going to be okay if we go bankrupt.

“Am sorry!” That’s what dad keeps saying. He feels guilty and he don’t know how to face mom cause he was disappointed at his self

I went to my room and lie down, seeing that the bedspread has stained again. It makes me want to pull out all my frustration on it.

I started crying, I was tired of all this

"Maeve" mom called standing at the open door

I quickly cleaned my face with my hands and it was full of make up, I looked at her and fake a smile

She came closer and explained everything to me, about her life and how it went. the whole night was full of words of consolation.

After we both cried and I realized it wasn't that bad, Am just getting married for a while and that’s it

"Mom, I don't want you to cry again. Am marry this guy because I like him not because they set us up. Remember we both went out for a date, and when he was talking I realized he's okay" I explained with a smile

“You like him?” She asked

“Yes, he’s my type and he’s a cool guy too” I winked with a smile

“Okay what about him?” She sounded so curious right now cause she knew one sided hurt the most

“He was the one who even call dad for the second date, he likes me” I had to cause if not she will be worried

“He do??” She wanted to confirm what I just said

“Yeah” I smiled

"Really? I thought he was an old guy isn't!" She asked curiously raising her eyebrows

"No" nodded and pull out my phone from my pocket. I show him the picture.

"Are you sure this is him??" Mom was surprised

"Yeah, handsome isn't?" I asked with a smile

"Yes, so handsome! Am sure girls will be chasing after him. You are so lucky!" She laughed.

Her reaction showed that she's really happy, hearing that I said I liked him and he was also handsome.

Even though he is handsome but am not into him.

"What do you think?" Mom asked with a grin

"At least I didn't fail!" I said with a smile and she hugged me.

"AHH! You had stained me, look at your bedsheets" she shouted

She's back to her real mood again.

"Errrmmmm......... Sorry!" I stuttered and quickly run into the bathroom to clean up
