TOXIC OBSESSION

FIRST DAY

Nick drove to work and arrived at 7:55 a.m. he could not believe everyone came early as well, the parking lot was filled with a lot of cars.

He immediately parked his car and adjusted his suit before coming down and walking into the building.

He greeted the lady at the reception and he's a big nervous smile "Good morning!" he greeted trying to sound as confident as ever.

" Good morning" she answered " do you have an appointment?" she asked

" I am attorney Nicholas, I just got a job here" he explained

" Alright then, you take the elevator to the fifth floor and you'll be instructed on what to do next" she directed.

Nick thanked her before walking of toward the elevator, he stood in front of the elevator, he couldn't help but feel nervous, he wasn't the type of person to feel nervous but today was different for some reason.

He stretched his hand to press the last floor button on the elevator, he also felt a soft hand pressing against his.

" I'm sorry" a cute voice spoke, Nick turned around to see a beautiful woman, fair-skinned with dimples on cheeks as she smiled.

she was dressed in a short white gown and black boots that's were up to her ankle with a jacket around her shoulder, she held her bag and a couple of files in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other which she used to touch the elevator button.

" It's not a problem" Nick said with a smile

The elevator door danged and opened a couple of people got off at last floor as the elevator doors were about to close up, he could hear a voice calling out.

" Hold up! hold up!" The voice called out as she raced towards the elevator, Nick immediately held up the elevator to stop the doors from closing.

" Thank you, you are a life saver" she said breathlessly

" It's not a problem" he replied " good morning" he also added a greeting as well

" Good morning" she replied.

The lady was dressed in a blue suit but her hair was a mess, she also wore glass on her face, even though she was a mess you could see her beauty through the mess.

" You really can't be serious! why on earth would you rush to work looking like that?" The fair-skinned lady asked

" Well I woke up late and guess what, I forgot Mr Greber had an appointment today, he called this morning to remind me, that he's was going to come to the office in the next 30 minutes" she explained her reason for been a mess

" What, how could you forget something so important? I'm not even in your station but I'm aware he's coming to work today" she said still looking at her colleague.

" I know, look at me, I'm a living nightmare, I'm a mess and I didn't even get to arrange my hair from home" she said almost in tears.

Nick couldn't help but earsdrop on their conversation Mr Greber was coming to the firm, he was on his way and this was his first day.

His anxiety increased thinking about it, he would be meeting his role model on the first day at work.

" And you, who are you?" the lady who rushed into the elevator finally asked as she noticed Nicholas in the elevator

" I am Nicholas, I'm a new employee" he said with a smile

" New employee?"

" Yes" he answered

" That true we're having new employees today, I'm Kate his secretary" she introduced with a smile " and this is Milly, she's one of our top lawyers here at the firm" she added introducing the first lady from earlier,

" It's nice to meet you" he said.

The elevator finally stopped at the 5th floor, Nicholas got out and waved back at the lady's before the elevator continued on its journey. He walked into the office he could see just one person sitting down and listening to music on his headphones

" Good morning" he greeted as he tapped the glass of the office

" New employee" he asked without lifting his head

" Yes" Nicholas replied

" Name please?"

" Nicholas" he said

" Alright here" the man said pulling out Nick's ID from under his desk before raising his head his head, he finally met Nicholas.

" OH my god!" He exclaimed "why didn't you tell me you were this good-looking" he complimented before passing on to him his ID card.

" Welcome to our law firm" he added "your station is 1 out of the four arranged in side, you could pick the one on the right or the left" Nick smiled and walked into the office.

It was arranged a table of four well spaced, he could already see two people already sitting, he greeted them before picking out his sit.

He took a deep breath, he was a little bit uncomfortable but this was his first day and he was willing to do his best while his mind was still rolling, another person came into the room and took the last seats as they waited to be addressed on what to do next.

As for the Lian, he opened the cafe and it didn't take long for Gavin to walked in a few minutes later helping him set up and turning the closed sign to open.

The customers began to pour in as everyone needed their early-morning dose of coffee, after working for a while Gavin had to go to the back to get in more supplies, while he was gone his wife walked in with their baby

"Lian" she called out as soon as her eye met him

" Good morning" Lian greeting before turning towards Cherry in stroller

" Good morning to you" he said talking to the baby and making baby noises,

" My regular please" she added as she spoke to Lian " And where is my husband?" she asked in addition not seeing Gavin anywhere around.

" He went to the back to get some supplies" Lian explained

"Alright, could you do me a favour" she asked

" What's that?"

" Could you help me watch cherry for a while, I need go talk to Gavin, I need something really important from him"

" Sure he answered with a smile as she handed him cherry before proceeding to look for her husband.

The morning rush was just about get worst when Dan walked in

" Good morning, sorry I'm late to the traffic this morning was terrible" he explained " oh my god, who's angel is this?" he said immediately he saw cherry in Lian's arms

" It's Gavin's daughter"

" she looks just like him" he added as he played with her a bit " ok I'm going to change I'll be out in a few minutes" he said before walking off to change

" Good morning" greeted a customer that was her first time for coming into the cafe

" a cup of Americano please" the woman in her middle age said, she couldn't take her eyes off Lian and Cherry, he really looked like a parent

" Here" he said as he finished making her a cup of coffee and passing it on to her

" Thank you, your daughter is so cute and you are a young and good father

it's hard to see fathers who bring their children to work and take very good care of them just like you do" she added with a smile.

Lian was about to explain when she dropped a large tip and said for the baby, he just smiled and thanked her, he couldn't believe someone just complimented him on been a good parents, almost immediately Dan came out to help with the customers.
