TOXIC OBSESSION

A PROMISE

Cobi sat trying to weighing his options, so far he had zero ways of leaving his current situation than just getting married to Anne, it was going to be one of those marriages of convenience, just because his dad needed to gain more power and influence and that's was why he needed to form sort of alliance from Anne's dad but he didn't love her.

He just saw her as a friend, both Cobi and Anne grew up together because their father will practically close friends, she knew everything about his life, including the fact that he was gay but he was started to get irritated with her when she started buying into the idea of them being together.

And now to worse the story his mum's life was at stake, he needed to make his decision and fast. This was the second week of him being in Paris, he knew he was running out of time.

His father had given him a limited amount of time to make up his mind.

" Baby what are you thinking about" his mum asked she had been standing in his room for over 20 minutes and he couldn't realise someone was there with him

" Nothing much, just some random stuff" he said with a smile as he patted the bed indicating that she should sit with him " mum!" He called out " Do you still love Dad after everything he had done to us?" He asked

" Baby what's wrong? is that what's bothering you?" she asked looking at our precious son

" Yes I just want to know" he replied, not sure if he was getting his answer

" I don't think I do anymore, there was a certain time I believed I would still love him no matter what he does but now, thinking about it I feel the correct answer to that is I never did" she spoke remembering all the bad memory " That man was just a worker in my father's company, the first day we met I felt some sort of spark within our souls, I felt we clicked together but I didn't have any feelings for him yet then you grandpa came up with this idea of how he was actually scared of getting me married to some stranger and instead of that happening he got me married to your father.

He was somebody we knew and trusted with everything" she was still smiling trying to hide her tear

" First two years of our marriage was heaven, I couldn't wish for anyone much better than him. I starting to believe that maybe just maybe we could start falling in love with each other, which I did. I fell hard than a bag of rice but then my father and mother died, the company finally became his, that was the worse days of my life" she added as she tried he best to hold back her tears, Cobi couldn't help but feel the pain as well.

" And I never thought he change, I would have never believed that the hard-working man from a few years ago would be a monster" she said with tears flushing down her face.

" Then you came along, my only hope and I thought maybe things could actually get better but they didn't at all, they only continued and got worse" Cobi was starting to feel a bit bit bad for reopening old wounds that his mum wanted to forget.

" It's alright mum, things are going to change they're not going to stay the same anymore, trust me.

All I need is time to think and put things in order" he said while pulling her into a hug as he shared a few tears as well

" Baby promise me that you will never hurt you partner, no matter what happens" she said looking at her son she passed through a lot of traumatic experience but she wanted her son to have the best life with his partner.

" I promise mum I'll never" he said staring at he before kissing her hands.

After the hug his mum started to feel strange about what was happening she lifted her head staring at her son's face " Baby why are you crying" she asked staring at his face as she wiped of the tears from his eyes.

Cobi was already used to his mum's switch but he couldn't help but somehow think that her mental illness could be as associated to the trauma she went through with his father, the doctor's explained it as some sort of compensation to make her forget things she really wanted to but as long as she was under his care she was not going to get any better because she was continuously reminded of her struggles.

After his little emotional moments with his mum he decided they needed fresh air.

Ever since he got to Paris, he has not been outside. he walked towards the lady from the airport he didn't care to ask her name and honestly he could give a damn about it

" Prepare the car will be leaving in the next 20 minutes" he informed her as he was about to walk away to get ready

" I'm not sure that's possible" she voiced out

" I'm not asking you for your permission that was an order" Cobi clarified his statement " I am your boss regardless of the situation so get the car ready we are heading out" he added

" But you are not my boss" she replied with the same confidence she has always had

" I didn't sign any contracts with you" she indicated, Cobi was getting irritated.

If there was any reason why he wanted this power so much, she could actually pass off as one, he wish he could make her disappear not just from the face of the Earth but the entire universe as well and also making sure she was never reborn in any form whatsoever because she knew how to get on his nerves

" I don't care who hired you, Because I am going to get you fired. So better give your so-called boss a call because I am going out and there is nothing anyone could do to stop it" he added before walking off to his room.

She sighed before picked her phone out giving his father a call to inform him of his son behaviour

" You can let him go out but keep a very close eye on his mother, even if Cobi runs away, he's always going come back home because of his mother" he explained.

In a matter of minutes Cobi got dressed and made sure his mum was dressed as well before stepping out.

Mrs Graber loved the idea of going out, she had always been locked in the house but today she was having a change of scenery.

They both drove towards the mall to get some supplies before moving to the beach

" Is there anything you would want, I'll get it for you" he asked his mum as they entered into the mall

" Ice cream" she said in excitement

" Alright then I'll buy you a very delicious flavour" he held her hand as they both worked towards the ice cream parlor of the mall.

All the guards that went with them had their eyes were fixed on Cobi's mum more than himself, he noticed it but pretended everything was cool, he knew better than running away with one, to start with he was brought here against his wishes, he didn't have time to make a very accurate plan.

" If I were you I wouldn't do anything stupid" the female bodyguard said as she got closer to Cobi after she saw the grin on his face.

" Don't worry, I don't plan on doing that anytime soon the only thing I want is to get you fired and out my site" he replied looking at her in the eye.
