THE FIRST SECTION

" My first question did you stab and murder Miss Bella?" Nick asked patiently waiting for his response.

" No, I did not" he replied while playing with his fingers

" Alright then do you know Miss Bella Kerenl?"

" Yes I do" he replied

" I would like to ask who was Miss Bella to you?" Nick asked giving Roy the floor room to process his thoughts before speaking

" She was my girlfriend" he answered with his eyes still on his fingers

" And where did you meet her?"

" We met each other when my family got back from a trip we had to France, she owned a property next to us. We got talking and started dating when we both moved down here" he explained trying to keep himself audible

" Could you describe your relationship with Miss Bella a little bit more, do you fight or argue with one another?" Perry asked

" What couple don't argue?" He asked back raising his eyebrows "we do argue quite a lot but they didn't last long before we resolve them and start anew"

" And what were the fights about?" Nick added

" Well mostly we fight because I was talking to younger girls, like girl in my school or my class. Basically she wanted me not to talk to any other girl apart from her which was kind of impossible" he explained " there was an instant where she poured a hot cup of coffee on my project partner who did nothing wrong to her, saying she was a slut that want to lure me to get bed and despite all of this I still loved and respected her" he added finally lifting up his face.

" So in other words she was insure and possessive?" Nick asked once more to confirm

" Yes she was"

" Did you ever hit her at any point in your relationship" Perry asked, Roy looked down once again as he played with his fingers before answering the question he was asked

" Yes, I did but just once" he said in a low voice feeling disappointed about his actions

" Could you tell us why you did that?"

" I was angry, I got to school and I was stopped from entering into the hall saying I had transferred all my classes to an online class and I didn't have to come to school anymore and this was not long after the coffee incident. The only person who would have done such a thing was her because we had fights about it previously where I did agreed, I got really pissed that she went behind my back to do such a thing and when I went to see her about it, we were outside and I just lost it because she kept treating me like I was a piece of furniture or property she bought with money and she didn't want anyone to have" he explained " And that was the only time I have ever hit her and I regretted it"

" What about her? did she ever hit you at any point?" Nick asked look for all possible holes in the story

" Well, I wouldn't say hit or if you would classify it as one but yes' he replied " she hits me when she's mad or when I did something wrong"

" What does she hit you with?"

" Literally anything as long as her hands can grab it"

" I'm sorry about that" Nick apologized

" It's no problem, it's all cool"

" And when she hits you, what is your usual reaction" Nick inquired he needed to understand each and every motive and emotions in order to conclude on what exactly happened between them.

" I usually felt like I was always wrong and I really hurt her with my words or actions. Most times I just apologized to her, telling her how much I love her and her I would change for her, we would make up after that" he concluded

" We are sorry for asking you all this personal questions to reopen your wounds but we need to know what has been transpiring between you two before that tonight, now could you tell us what happened that night, the night of her murder?" Almost immediately the expression on his face changed as he looked like he was about to lose his mind

" That night, we went out clubbing. At first I didn't want to go because I always get attention when I'm in the club but she insisted saying I had been a good boy all through week and she wanted to take me out on a treat.

" AI decided to go with her regards to the club, everything was normal till a group of girls came over to our table because she left to get to a drink, I was really trying my hardest to get rid of them but they wouldn't just to go. I knew how she was and what she will get once she got back but they didn't listen.

She finally came back but to my biggest surprise she didn't say a word, she said nothing, she just dropped the drinks on the table and joined in the conversation" he explained with a bit Of fear in his eyes,

" I was really scared and uncomfortable because of her silence and her eyes were solely fixed on me, which made me not to be able to drink anything because I knew there was something she had in mind. I was still uncomfortable which made me request that we should leave.

She didn't argue either nor say a word. she greeted the ladies with a warm smile before leaving, we barely got into the car, when she told me to walk home, shutting the door in my face.

I thought is was a joke, I tried explaining but she kept insisting that I go back into the club to talk with the girls I was with and she drove off knowing fully well I didn't come with anything because it was her idea for us to go out, I was pissed with her attitude and fed up with everything she was doing.

When I finally found my way back home, I used my spare key to open the door, she was pacing up and down the room waiting for me. On seeing me she asked me 'what took me so long to get home' I was done with her and I wasn't ready to put up with her shity attitude anymore. I just walked into the room to pack up my things because I needed a break from everything, from her, from us for everyone.. on my way home that night I already booked a flight to France because I just wanted to clear my head. I didn't wants to be anywhere close to her. she rushed into the room asking me where I was going but I didn't say anything, she got really furious and walked into to the kitchen and then came back with a knife in her hand, at once I thought she was joking and she just wanted me to stay but when she told me she was going to kill me and then kill you herself and I didn't want that, I also didn't want to wait to find out if she joking and at the same time I didn't want to stay with her anymore" he said with a belief pause as tear ran down his face.

" I really tried getting knide from her hands, it was a strong struggle which led to me cutting my hand in the process but I finally got the knife out of her hands and throwing it to the ground, she fell to the ground crying at the realisation at she saw he bleeding. I really didn't want to spend any more time with her, I locked my luggage as she fell to the ground screaming and pleading with me not to leave her but I didn't want any of it any longer I carried my luggage and walking towards the exit, she continue to run after me but I did not look back not even once. I decided to stay in a hotel for that night and the next morning the first thing I booked the flight to France" he concluded

" For the past 6 months why didn't you come back or check up on her? were you not too worried?"

" I was, I was really worried and I really wanted to fix things after I cleared my head for the first 2 weeks of my stay in France. I tried calling her everyday but there wasn't an answer until one day it stopped going through. I decided to call a best friend Evelyn to go check up on her and that was when we heard the news that her parents had broken the door of her apartment and found out that she was missing all this while and before the police investigation started and that when I came back because I couldn't believe she was dead for 6 months" he added

" Alright thank you very much for your time" Nicholas said

" Do you think I have a chance of leaving this place" Roy asked as he looked at Nick's face just to get a glimpse of hope

" To be honest right now it doesn't look good for you but that's why we are here, we're going to do everything within our power to get you out" he tried to assure giving him the best smile he could.

The guards came back handcuffing Roy and taking him back to his cell.

" What do you think? Is he lying?" Perry asked Nick

" That shouldn't be our major concern right now, we are to defend him and we need to do a good job at that regardless of what the truth" he replied but returned to the office before finally closing for the day.
