TOXIC OBSESSION

NICK

Nick started with the security service from the apartment where Bella stayed, he needed to go over the CCTV footage.

Both him and Perry greeted the security team before making their request, in no time the footage was displayed on the screen. Bella had come home first that night, she came in alone just like Roy had said, and about an hour later he finally got home opening the door on his own with his spare key that he had in his left hand.

After about what seems to be an hour and 30 minutes Roy came out of the house, along with his luggage and Bella after him trying to convince him to stay which he didn't listen to, after some time of her crying in front of the door she pulled out her phone from her pocket and made a phone call before heading back in the house and sound from the CCTV was not audible, after an hour something strange happened Roy had returned back in the same clothes but this time without a luggage.

He also opened the door with the same spare key he had used a few hours ago and after some time he came out carrying Bella's dead body in a sack and dragging it off into her car before driving out to bury the body.

Roy had stated that he left but he never mentioned coming back to the house.

" Do you have any of the CCTV footage from inside the house?" Nick inquired wanting to get a better view of things, he wanted to know exactly what had happened inside the house that day

" Yes, I have a camera that is working but there is no audio and you can barely see what's going on because it was fixed at the side of the kitchen, the only thing that could clearly be seen was Bella taking the knife from the kitchen counter before walking to the room" he explained as he placed the footage for them to see

" The others cameras were disabled and the memory box missing" the guard added

" it's was obvious that the person that killed her took them along to cover his tracks" Perry said

" I also have a feeling that whoever came back the second time was definitely not Roy" she added with her eye still on the screen,

" We never can tell, it's better we do not jump into conclusions" Nick pointed out

" what are we going to do next?" Perry asked

" We need to check with the hotel that Roy claimed to be in during the night of incident because here in" he said referring to the evidence

" The police records states that he went missing for about an hour, at the exact time the murder took place" he , suggested still looking at the evidence sheet which was before them

In a matter of time Nick and Perry drove to the hotel where Roy had stayed for the night during the incident and checking in with the security team in order to see the CCTV footage of that night.

At around 11:35 p.m. he carried his bags and luggage is into his room where he stayed for about 30 minutes before leaving the room at 12:01 am, around that time 12:35, he had returned to Bella's house and killed her.

The body was brought and buried at around 2:15 a.m. Roy had returned to his hotel room exactly around 2:45 a.m. before boarding his flight to France.

" He never said anything about going back to the house" Perry voiced

" Maybe he didn't go back" Nick said pulling out a clip of video he had gotten from the CCTV footage at Bella's house and showing it to his partner to see.

" This" he pointed to Roy leaving the house

" Roy is left-handed, I also noticed that at the prison and when he came back home the second time here" he said turning the video to the next clip " he opened the door with his left hand and he did the same thing at the hotel" he said pointing towards the video on the screen in front of them

" Whoever killed Bella is right-handed, there is no way it could have been Roy" he pointed out

" I do understand your point but we can't just say that at court and expect everyone to believe us very easily" she voiced her opinion

" That's why, we have to go back and talk with Roy again, also we need to know the exact places where he went to during the night that he was missing, I will also need the autopsy results to prove that the stab wounds on Bella was by a dominant right-handed person and not Roy"

" I think everything will be in place really soon" Perry added.

Immediately Nick ended his meeting, both him and Perry, both went back to the office, Nick went to pack his stuff in order to go home.

He rushed into the elevator with the mindset of driving straight to see Lian's father but he bumped into Millie in the elevator, his supervisor.

" Good afternoon ma" he greeted with a smile

" Good afternoon" she answered raising her eyes to see him.

" Nicholas is right?" she said to confirm

" Yes" he answered impressed that she actually could still remember his name

" I heard you and your teammates are working hard on your case" she said giving him her full attention.

" We are just trying our best to make sure that everything is possible and we are able to get him out of jail as soon as possible and unharm" he replied

" Well then Good luck to you and your teammate" she said before the elevator door open and she left.

Nick had a smile on his face, he was beginning to have feelings on his superior Millie but he knew it couldn't go beyond that. He got out of the elevator and drove as fast as he could to see Lian's father in the hospital, he haven't called him again because he had been a bit busy with his case.
