He got to the hospital, immediately rushing to the room, he opened the door to the room and was shocked to see Lucas,

" Nicholas!" Lian's mother called out as she made her way to her second son

" Mum, are you alright?" he asked looking at her swollen eyes " why did you cry so much, look at your eyes" he said slightly touching them.

" I'm fine" she replied with a warm smile

" I would have been here a bit earlier but I was caught up at work and I was a bit busy, please forgive me" he added before kissing her hands, " You must have been scared and I wasn't here to comfort you" he said pouting

" I'm fine now Nick, I had Lian and his handsome friend here with me and his father is doing just fine now, so there is actually no need for you to worry but I feel more relief now that you're here" she added still admiring the looks of her adopted son.

" That's enough Mom, I didn't even have this kind of reception from you, I'm starting to rethink who your real son is" he said walking over to them to break off their little moment.

" I think someone is jealous Mom"

" I also think so too but there's nothing he can do about it but to accept it" she said with a little giggle, her phone beeped indicating she had a message and it was from her daughter, she wanted her to come pick her up from the airport.

" Boys can you excuse me for a second I need to go fetch Lily" she informed

" But we could go get her for you, there is no need for you to go outside, Nick is here" Lian suggested

" I want you boys to stay here, you've all been on the road. I can handle picking your sister" she said before grabbing her bags.

Lucas was sitting on a chair at the extreme end of the room

" What is he doing here?" Nick whispered to Lian's hearing

" He came with me, satisfied?" Lian blurted he knew very well Nick wouldn't let it slide.

" No I'm not, I need deeds. Any time ask you a question I did not expect you to answer me in a stupid dumb short reply, I need explanations details from beginning to the end, understand. Now I thought you were avoiding him?"

" Well, if you must know he came over to apologize for last night and offered to drop me off here, he has been here ever since then" Lian explained

" OMG, that's so sweet" Nick cries out

" Shut it" Lian said rolling his eyes

" how is your case going?" He asked trying to change the topic

" Pretty good but I need your help with something detective Lian" he said trying to butter up Lian.

" Quit it, would you? I'm not helping you with anything else, it's your case you should be able to deal with it"

" I know that but things are giving me a little bit more headache than I expected and besides it is very important but we can't discuss it here, we would talk more about it we get home tomorrow"

" You shouldn't have come over, how are you going to get to work early enough not to be late tomorrow?"

" My dear best friend, Lian it so happens that your brain is slower than that of a snail because I'm not going to be working tomorrow" Nick informed proudly

" Why? Don't tell me you got fired!!"

" Are you being serious right now? How did I meet you again?. I'm not going because it is a damn weekend me and who goes to work on a f*****g weekend and besides I haven't seen my family for a long time, I want to use this opportunity to see them especially my mum, she has been yapping about how she misses me and wants me to come see her for the past 5 years, I haven't set my eyes on that woman. Oh no I'm really a bad son!" he said

" I can't believe you just realized but that's thanks to your father. That man is a pain in the ass"

" I know, you don't have to tell me, I'm his son, I have been thinking of ways to buckle up my belts in order to talk to him"

" But you know if anything happens we're here for you, right?"

" Of course, I know you are my family and I'll let you know if anything"

A few minutes later Lian's mum came back with Lily who was pleased to see Nick and not her own brother.

" It looks like Nick's the real son and you are just adopted" Lucas whispered with a smile

" it has been that way ever since we were both kids and we became friends. Everyone took him as their son, we are practically Brothers from different mothers" he said as he watched his mum and sister have fun with Nick

" It's great to see you all together, I never knew your relationship was as deep and unique as this, even at home"

" Trust me the next person you wouldn't expect their relationship to be this good is my Dad, you are he's actually missing out on a lot because he's not awake but when he is, they don't stop talking, sometimes I envy thier relationship, it's actually better than what I share with my Dad" he said as he passed on a plate of food to Lucas

" Lian!" his mother called out taking him outside by the arm

" What happened mom, is something wrong?" he inquired, wondering what made her pull him aside in such manner

" No it's not at all, I just wanted to ask you about your hot friend that came along with you" she mentioned with a smile

" You mean Lucas? what about him?"

" Is he just your friend" she asked reducing her tune

" Mom!! we are just friends"

" But that's not what I see in his eyes that he gives you, whenever he stares at you, his eyes says something different" she pointed out, Lian knew this was nothing but Nicholas is handwork.

" Mum we are just friends, he came to see me at home and decided to give me a ride here, he's actually my boss at the cafe where I work"

" I know that, Nicholas told me"

" And so Nick is behind all this?"

" No he's not, he's the only trustworthy son I have right now. you couldn't even tell me that he confessed his feelings to you"

" Hold up a bit, let me get this straight when did Nicholas have this chat with you and the time to tell you all this?" He asked knowing Nick has been on a tight schedule,

" That doesn't matter, Luca seems like a nice guy, why don't you want to date him?"

" Mum!! I work at the cafe and I have learnt to separate my work and my personal matters they shouldn't get in the way and in addition I see Lucas as nothing more than only a friend that's all" he tried explaining

" But friends make the best lovers don't you agree"

" Just kill me right now, mum don't" he said been embarrassed as she talked about the issue

" You are getting older Lian, you need to start going out on dates and start making plans to build a family" she advised wanting the best for her son

" I can't believe you and as for Nick, I am going to kill him"

" Don't you dare touch my son, he's just worried about you that's all. Is that a bad thing?"

" No but intruding in on my privacy is" he added " I'm definitely going to kill him if not today but very soon I will make your precious son pay for this" he said before walking back into the room.
