" What are these" Lian asked as he went through the evidence in Nick's case note which he was working on
" Are you blind it's an evidence sheet! it looks bad right?" he asked as he worked towards the coffee maker
" I know what it was, I just wanted to know what case this is and yes it does look bad, everything looks perfectly planned out to me" he said with his eyes on the pictures.
" That was the same thing I was thinking, this murder took place six months ago and the accused was in New York with his family, the police found out after her parents became worried, not her friends or boyfriend, her parents." He explained as he dropped the cup of coffee on the table.
" Yeah that's also fishy, the scenes and the evidence are well detailed, see this" he said pointing towards another picture.
" I think the killer tried getting ready of the evidence, but it was seen during the police investigation" he pointed out.
" Exactly he tried to get destroy the evidence but why would he leave behind the brush and gloves he used for scrubbing?" Lian asked
" Maybe he was in a haste not to get caught"
" That even make it more strange but who I'm I to think so" he said with a little laugh
" It all looks planned out but at the same time it could be that, he is the actual killer" Nick pointed out
" So what are you going to do, this is your official first case, attorney Nicholas" Lian said with a proud smile.
" We thought about checking the murder scene at first and cross checking it with the evidence board" Nick explained
" That's good but I think if you really want to get something good, I feel you should talk to the accused first before checking out the murder scene then you can cross checking his story with the evidence at the scene just to be sure" Lian suggested
" Wow! Lian that's amazing, why don't you just go back to school and become a detective? You were all about how you wanted to do something like that in highschool"
" Nicholas, I have answered that same question a thousand times and the answer is still the same as it has always been, No and besides I love teaching it gives me more joy than anything."
" Yeah right or you are just trying to live out someone else's dream" Nick said carelessly before realising what he just said
" I'm sorry I didn't mean it" he said acknowledging the fact that he already hurt his friend.
" It's all good, I'm not offended. I really did want to just leave out his dream at first but now I really can't wait to stand in front of young men and women and take them down their career paths" Lian spoke
" you are beginning to sound like a preacher more than a teacher " Nick said as he rolled his eyeballs taking his eyes back to his book, " And Lian you're still trying to live out his dream, I care about you and that's why I'm going to say this. You're Lian and you're totally different from him, nothing that happened to him is your fault it was all an accident" he expressed his concern, he had been best friends with Lian for the longest time and he knew Lian studying education was just out of guilt.
" I'm off to bed" Lian announced trying to running away from the topic, this was one topic he didn't want to talk about with anyone not even Nick.
" And now you run away from the subject again" Nick said turning to look at Lian, knowing his regular behavior
" I'm not running, I have to be at the cafe early tomorrow" he explained before walking off.
" I'm starting to think you are now the new owner of the cafe and not Lucas" Nick said to Lian's hearing.
Lian laid on the bed, he couldn't help but replaying Nick's words in his head he felt the pain he thought he buried for a while " I am you, you are me, we are one and the same. What you like I love and what you hate, I despise" he whispered as he closed his eyes tight trying to get some sort of relief.
He opened his eyes after taking a deep breath and touched his scar he had by the right side of his stomach, before pulling the sheet over his head trying to get a good night sleep.

Cobi had just enough of putting up with his father's requests and he was ready to start putting his plans in motion but first he needed to leave Paris.
" I agree to you request" Cobi said staring at his dad at the other end of the video call
" You're telling me you are ready to take responsibility and become a lawyer?" Mr Greber asked.
Despite giving Cobi a month to make up his mind, he had spent more than that in Paris. It was already going to a year already.
" Do I need to repeat myself again? I agree but only on one condition" he said staring at his father through the screen
" What is your condition?" He asked, although he wasn't ready to bend to his sons will
" From now on, I'll be the one in charge of mum's treatment, her doctors and nurses and everything that has to do with her, would be solely on me" he spoke with a hint of not changing or going back on his decision.
His father didn't give it much thought he just wanted his son to become responsible, as long as he didn't lose the company or let it fall into the hands of strangers he was good with his dumb condition. And besides she would be in Paris which gives him the upper hand to do whatever he wants without Cobi knowing about it.
" You'll be returning home by the new years and your engagement with Anne would commence, immediately after your graduation we are getting married to Annie or if I wish to push It forward I will" he spoke with a big smile plastered on his face.
Cobi nodded in agreement, he didn't have much to think about just that he could get his mother out of the hands of his father and they could start a new life just them somewhere else.
After the conversation he walked right into his mom's room, she was soundly at sleep, he watched her sleep peacefully and the only person that came to his mind was Lian, He had the same exact express on his face when he slept as well. Although it was their first and last meeting, Lian left a mark that he was always going to be reminded of.
Cobi walked to the calendar in his mother's room, he stared at the dates his father granted his coming back at new years. He counted the days in his head, he really couldn't wait to put his plans in motion.
