The Last Fox

Chapter 5

Aroura

I was walking in the forest but it was different, there was a thick mist and it was dark. It didn’t smell like the normal forest, it barely had a scent at all.

I brushed against a fern, the dew drops floated up to the sky, I watch as they reach higher and higher.

I must be either dreaming or Brian killed me and I was stuck in the spirit world

Your are not dreaming but you are also not dead my beautiful creature

I jumped at the voice, it was female but was over lapped with high, medium and low voices.

I looked around to see if I could find where it was coming from

“Who are you?”

A soft chuckle filled the air

I’m the Mother Goddess

I looked around

“I must be dreaming.”

She laughed

I know you’ve been though a lot but just know it wasn’t supposed to be this way.

“What do you mean?”

In good time my little fox, right now you have to wake up

Before I could say anything my eyes flew open, I blinked rapidly trying to adjust to the light.

I went to move when I felt a solid body next me with its arm lightly over my body. I slowly turned my head, pain lightly pulsed though my head.

It was Dominic, he was sleeping next me in my bed. He would have looked peaceful if it weren’t for his eyes being red and puffy, he clearly has been cry, even with them closed you can tell.

I remember he said something,

My.... something.

It sounded like mate but I know that wasn’t it, it was biologically impossible. Other hybrids can’t mate with other hybrids only their own kind. It is possible to conceive with another race but it always results in painful miscarriages and sometime death for the female.

He must of felt me looking at him, he fluttered his blue eyes open

“Hey, your awake.”

He slowly got up and stood next to the bed

“How you feeling?”

I tried to sit up but stopped when pain pulsed though my body

“Pain, lots of it.”

He quick headed for the door

“I’ll get the doctor to give more pain meds, hang on.”

He peeked his head out and yelled

“SHES AWAKE, SHE NEEDS MORE MEDS!”

He walked back and knelt down he rested his elbow on the bed.

“How did you find me?”

He looked down

“I followed your scent and blood, you were in bad shape Foxy.”

I nodded

“I feel like I got hit by a fright train with thousands pounds of cement on it.”

I chuckled but he didn’t, he looked down

“It was my fault, I kept you in the forest for to long. You would have made it home in time if I didn’t stall.”

Before I could say anything the doctor came in

“Hello little fox, my name is Dr. Mendoza. And don’t worry your identity is safe with me, I’m just going to check your vitals and fill you in on everything. Then I’ll answer whatever questions you have, ok?”

I nodded.

She checked my heartbeat, she looked over my body and saw how I was healing, I guess I made some major progress. All the cuts were healed and the bruises were healing they weren’t purple anymore, she told me I had a lot of broken bones. All my ribs were broken, my legs had some fractures, my wrist were broken, my skull was fractured, I had a concussion and both shoulders were dislocated.

Some of my organs were bruises but nothing ruptured or torn

“Your lucky to be alive, if your friend didn’t find you when he did you probably wouldn’t have made it.”

I looked at Dom, I gave him a smile.

“Now, we did a r**e kit. Good news is he didn’t ejaculate in you so you don’t have to take the morning after pill but the bad news is there was some damage. I’m going to give you antibiotics and the strongest pain meds that I can give you, ok do you have any questions?”

It was a lot to take in, I just shook my head.

“Well if anything comes to mind just let me know ok? Get some rest, the more rest the better.”

I felt tears filling my eyes I tried to hold them in, I didn’t want to cry in front of Dom.

He looked at me and jumped up and gently hugged me

“Don’t hold it in, let it out.”

As soon as he said that I lost it, I cried so hard it hurt my body but it felt good to let it out. The tingles coming from Dom’s embrace helped me calm down, we just laid their holding each other.

I didn’t want to let go

“Can you stay with me?”

He whispered in my ear sending pleasurable chills though my body

“Always.”

He crawled back in my bed like he was when we first woke up, I spent the day fading in and out of sleep and taking heavy duty pain killers.

Dominic stayed by my side he never left beside one or twice to go to the bathroom, he either watched TV or napped with me.

The next day I felt a lot better, the doctor came in to check on me and was in shock.

She took me in for X-rays and an ultrasound.

She put up two X-ray prints

“This one here is from two days ago when you frost came in.”

She pointed, it was my ribs. They were completely broken and shattered, there was nothing left

“Now this one is what we just took 20 minutes ago.”

It was my ribs completely healed, they looked like they were untouched.

“I’ve been a doctor for 45 years, I’ve seen and treated all races of shape and sizes. Never have I ever seen someone heal as fast as you did, specially for a fox. But your body maybe healed but mentally, that will still need a lot of time. You are still going to feel sore but nothing compared to when you first came in.”

I was in complete shook, it was impossible even for a wolf to heal that fast. My parents came to pick me, they were in disbelief when the doctor showed them what she showed me and Dom. I got in some clothes my parents brought me and checked out, Dom helped me in the car.

“Call me if you need anything, I’m going to take care of somethings.”

He said giving me a hug, he rested his forehead on mine and left.

We rode in home in silence when I was glad, I really don’t want to talk about what happened. I just want to continue with my life and forget what happened, mentally I can just shove everything deep down.

We got home and walked though the front door

“Does Chinese food sound good for dinner?”

They knew that was my favorite food

“Sure sounds great.”

I said kinda melancholy

They looked at each other

“We’ll order some sushi and wonton soup,” said dad

“Yea and we can watch a movie, does that sound good?”

Mom said gently touching me, I involuntarily flinched. The look on my mother’s face hurt me so deeply, I tried to fight the tears.

“Shh shh it’s ok baby, it’s ok. Don’t cry.”

She hugged me, dad came around and hugged me as well

“Dr. Mendoza said mental healing is going to be the hardest now. We just have to take it day by day, it’s going to be a long road but we’ll get though it together.”

I can hear his voice c***k, my dad never cried.

We stood in the kitchen crying together, we finally pulled ourselves.

Mom called the order in for delivery and dad went to pick a movie, I went up to my room to change in to PJs.

I put on a sweatshirt and baggy pants, I never where these unless the weather calls for them, it was spring. I looked at my self in the mirror and anger filled me.

No I’m not going to let him win, he may have stole my virginity but he didn’t steal my soul. I’m a f*****g fox, I’m stronger then this. I ripped off the sweatshirt and sweat pants and threw them in the trash. I grabbed a white tank top and some silk shorts, much better. I’m not going to let this break me I’m so much stronger then at, I lifted my head up high.

I heard the door bell rang, foods here.

I bolted down the stairs to the front door, it was Dominic.

I felt tingles flood my body

“Hey, why you here? I just saw you little over an hour ago.”

He chuckled

“I just wanted to check and see how your settling in.”

I smiled

“Good, I think I’m going to be ok.”

He smiled and nodded, he was going to leave when I grabbed his arms and hugged him tightly

“Thank you, you saved my life once again.”

He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back.

“Dominic, what a surprise, haven’t seen you in an hour.”

Dad said jokingly

Dom laught and waved.

“We’re just about to have dinner sushi should be here any minute, care to join us. We have a movie set up as well.”

Dom shrugged

“Sure.”

Shortly after the food came, we all grabbed some sushi and soup, we migrated to the living room. Dad sat in his big comfy chair and mom sat in her little chair next to his. I sat on the couch with my legs tucked under me, Dom sat on the floor right infront of me. Dad picked the movie this time, he picked Atonement.

I looked down at Dom, I had the urge to touch him. I took my hand and ran my fingers though his hair, it was so soft, sparks tingled up my hand to my arm. I don’t know why I get these tingles everytime I touch him, it’s only when I touch him. He didn’t seem to mind since he tilted his head back more so I can do his whole head, he lifted his arm and wrapped it around my legs tracing his fingers around my skin. More tingles with every touch, it was so relaxed and exhilarating. There were times I wish I could just tell him I loved him, more then a friend, but I knew I couldn’t. Specially now, I would not be able to handle that kind of rejection. So for now I’ll just savor these moments and enjoy them awhile I can before he finds his mate.

Dominic

This fox is killing me, first she opens her door with silk shorts and a tank top showing off her perfect breast. Now she’s rubbing my head, I had to put my plate over my junk so her parents didn’t see I was turned on. I wish I could just tell her, I might as well she’ll end up finding out sooner or later. Everyone knows now that’s to the haze, uncontrollable I spilt the beans and said she was my mate to Brian. Now according to Carly, everyone knows. Carly punched me in the arm for not telling her, we grew up together and she was my mates best friend she should have been the first to know.

I was planing on telling her at my party, a little before midnight before her birthday. I had it all planned out, after the party I’ll have a special table set up in the garden just for us and I’d tell her just before midnight.

My party is just two days away, I think I can wait two more days. To help satisfy the urge I reached up and wrapped my arm around her legs, but it only made it worse since her legs were as sooth as her silk shorts. She slowly circled her fingers around my head, then she started to playfully pull my hair.

I grinned my teeth, I don’t know how much more I can take.

The movie was finally over

“Thank you for having me over but I really should be going.”

I quickly gave Aroura and hug and ran out the door, as soon as I closed the door I shifted and ran, I just kept running, I ran up to my house. I went though the door, down the hall jumped into the indoor pool. It was nice and cold, It cooled me down, I shifted under water and popped my head up gasping for air.

Oh my Goddess that was close, that sneaky little fox.

I laughed at myself

“What’s so funny?”

I turned my head to see my father with his arms crossed, he looked mad.

“Is the fact that the whole community now knows your mate is a fox?”

I stood up

“They we’re going to find out anyway, her birthday is in 3 day. Your going to have to accept it father, you can’t keep acting like it not going to happen.”

His face softened, he sat down my the edge and rolled up his pant.

He placed his feet in the water.

“I just kept thing it was phase, you know like when you were a kid. You’d get a new toy obsess over it for a while then toss it aside and move on the the next thing, but when you turned 18. I saw the look you gave her when you saw her walk though the door, it was the same look I did when I saw your mother. It was like time stood still and she was the only person in the world that mattered, that’s why I sent you away to live with your uncle for awhile. I hoped it was just a fluke, that if you were around different wolves you’d find someone else.”

I looked at him

“I love her dad, she is my mate. No one is going to change that, the Goddess must have a reason for bonding me with the only fox in existence. We just have to let it happen dad.”

I said putting my hand in his.

He looked up at me

“You know this mean you won’t be able to have any kids, you have no one to take your place as Alpha. After you retire Carly and Jace’s first born son will take the role as Alpha, you know this right?”

I nodded

“I understand, she means more to me then anything.”

He took a deep breath and nodded

“I know.”

He took his hand and rubbed my head, finally he accepted the fact that Aroura was my mate.

I got out of the pool and walked n***d to my room, I jumped on my bed.

I smiled stupidly at the ceiling

“Two more day, just two more days.”

I closed my eyes slipped into satisfying dreams.
