The Last Fox

Chapter 4

Dominic

I carried Aroura threw the woods, taking the long way and walking slow. Her scent was very soothing and intoxicating, I didn’t want it to leave. But I knew I had to get her to her clothes so she can get home before the haze, she may have been able to take on 4 wolves by herself but not a group of males. The haze sends wolves into a s*x frenzy that is uncontrollable, we can’t control our strength. She’d end up getting killed, she may be strong for a fox but she’s still a fox and her little body would not be able to withstand it.

I looked down at the beautiful little white fox that was cuddled up in my arms, I’m pretty sure she feel asleep.

I came to the tree where she tucked her clothes

“Foxy, we’re here. You got to wake up beautiful.”

I gently jiggled her, she let out a cute little squeak and stretched in my arms then jumped down.

*Well good luck with the haze tonight.*

“Yea I’m going to skip this month, probably going to lock myself in my room and ride it out.”

She nodded

*Well when you find your mate it will be easier for you, she’ll be able help you satisfy the urges.*

A flash of heat rose in my cheeks, I wish I could just tell her.

“Hopefully.”

*Well in the mean time you can always call or video chat me, I may not be able to ‘physically’ be there for you but I can virtually.*

I smiled, I placed my forehead on her and whispered

“I’d like that.”

I left to give her some privacy and to get a head start home before the haze hit, the sun was starting to set now. I looked up at the beautiful sky, orange and pink with black following behind it. I heard cheering coming from the the stadium, sounds like everyone was enjoying the pack fight. I felt bad Aroura had to miss it this year, Carly said she trained hard and actually had a chance to win this year.

I continued to walk past the stadium when I felt the air shift, it got hot and thick. The hair on the back of my neck and arms rose, I felt my body get hot and start to sweat.

Shit the haze was starting, I wasn’t going to make it home in time I was already starting to struggle to keep control. I had to get somewhere safe fast, the cemetery was just around the corner I could just lock myself in one of the crypts and wait it out in there.

I just hope Aroura made it home safely.

Aroura

I get dressed and started towards town, the sky was beautiful. Orange and pink with faint stars trying to break though, wish I could just sit and watch the rest of the sun set but the haze is going to start and I have to get home and lock myself down.

BUZZ BUZZ

I pulled out my phone to see 3 missed calls and 5 unopened messages from my parents

GET HOME NOW!!!

I sighed and started to make my way towards home, I came up to the stadium and heard the cheering. I was still mad I couldn’t be there, I trained so hard this year but I understood.

I’ve never seen the haze only a video of it in s*x Ed class and it was violent, it was straight up pure savage and nasty. The wolf looses all control letting their animal side take control, the men become extremely territorial specially when they have a mate. Other hybrids stay away when a haze hits, if another race is caught in a haze they have no chance of surviving specially if their female. The haze cause the wolves to go inside frenzy and they have no control, they use all their power, sometimes there is death or major injuries to wolves but other race just can’t withstand the raw power.

I started to make my way down to the road when I felt the air change, it was hot and thick. I felt the danger prickle though my body. s**t the haze was starting, I have to get out of here before someone spots me. I was about to run when I heard heavy breathing behind me, my heart dropped. I slowly turned around to see Brian of all people, he stood panting, sweat dripping from his forehead. His body was partially shifted, his ears were pointed, fangs were out and his claws were out.

I stood tall to try and show I wasn’t terrified

“Hey buddy, looks like you’ve seen better days. I was just passing though, I don’t want any trouble. I’ll just head home no need to fight a little fox.”

I slowly backed away to give me enough distance so I’d have a good chance to run, I knew I’d be able to out run him but he was to close.

He grunted and tilted his head smiling terrifyingly

“Fight? Oh no Foxy I don’t want to fight you.”

He licked his lips.

Terror shocked my body, I turned to try and run but he was too fast. He slammed into me knocking me to the ground so hard he knocked the wind out of me. I struggled to catch my breath, he held my arms above my head with one hand and touched my face with the other.

“ I’ve always wondered what it would be like to get with a fox, I read you guys were pretty kinky and tight.”

I tried to break free from his grip, there was no way. I felt his free hand make his way down, I pulled my head back and slammed it into his hoping it would daze him enough to loosen his grip to I can slip away.

CRACK

I saw stars, pain waves through my skull. It didn’t even phase him, just looked at me with his burning yellow eye and chuckled.

“Oh you want rough for play, I can do that.”

He punched me in the stomach, the air left my lungs again followed by pain and the taste of copper in my mouth.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out, Brian slammed his mouth into mine kissing me so hard it hurt.

I bit his tongue, in response he punched me in the ribs.

SNAP

Air left my lungs again after I just got it back and more copper filled my mouth, I felt his free hand rip my shorts off and undo it zipper. Panic waves though my body, I didn’t want to lose my virginity like this. I managed to get my legs between us holding him away, his tip was just inches away from me. I tried using all my strength to hold him away, another punch struck my side. Now his tip was touching the outside of me trying to get in, I tried to head butt him again but it didn’t work another punch to my side.

He was all the way inside me now, the pain pulsed though my body, I knew I wasn’t going to make it though this alive.

Suddenly I was able to breath again, Brian’s body wasn’t on me anymore. I managed to curl up in a ball, pain pulsed all over. I looked around to see what happened, I saw Brian on the other side of the street in defensive stands shifting into full wolf.

Then I saw Dominic standing between me and Brian, he was breathing heavy half shifted. I very low terrifying rumble escaped him chest.

He said something but I didn’t really hear what he said, my ears were ringing but I knew I had to get out of here. n***d half shifted people started flooding out of the stadium to see what was going on. I shifted and tried to run to the forest and find somewhere safe to try and heal. I managed to get to the tree line stumbling into the wood, I found a rock formation and wiggled my way though the cracks. I curled up in a little ball in the leaves, pain radiated though out my body.

Tears filled my eyes followed by darknesses.

Dominic

I made it to the cemetery, the urge was getting stronger. I open the door to the crypt, suddenly I had a strong feeling to go back to the stadium. I tried to fight it but couldn’t, I made my way back to the stadium. I could hear the frenzy inside, I started for the door when I caught an irresistible scent.

Frost and sweet berries,

“Mate.”

I followed the scent, then I realized the smell of copper mixing in with it. I looked and saw Brian on top of someone, it was Aroura.

I ran and grabbed the back of his shirt and threw him across the street, stood between Aroura and him ready to fight.

He rolled and shifted into his grey wolf, he got into a defensive stance and let out a roar, he was challenging me for her.

A deep rumble built in my chest

“MY MATE!”

I heard people come out of the stadium to watch the fight, they all howled and growled.

I looked Brian right in the eyes, I leaped at him shifted in mid air. Our body’s collided sounding like two Mack trucks hitting head on, he tried biting my side. I hit him with a big paw in the side and bit his leg swinging him to the ground, he yelped and quickly jumped back up to attack again. He managed to get a bite on my arm, in return I bit his shoulder ripping a chunk out of it. He cried in pain, I took the opportunity and bit down on his neck tightening my grip. He struggled to break free, I heard him struggling to breathe.

I felt his body starting to go limp when sudden the air was clear, the haze was over.

I let go of Brians body, he shifted into a human letting out a gasp quickly sucking in air to fill his lungs.

“Wh.... Where is she?”

He gasped, I saw the regret on his face, I knew he couldn’t control it but I was still angry.

I looked around, Aroura was gone, I sniffed the air trying to pick up her scent.

“Yo.... You called her your mate. What the f**k does that mean? That’s im... impossible.”

I ignored him, I had to find Aroura and see what damage he caused. I walked up to where she was, blood everywhere, anger raged though me.

An auburn wolf ran up to, it was Carly

*What happened?*

I continued to sniff around

*Aroura was out during the haze and Brian tried to r**e her.*

Carly growled and started to walk to Brian

*Carly I need you to help me find her, this is her blood. She’s hurt bad, we have to find her.*

She nodded and sniffed around

*Got her, she went this way.*

I ran following her scent, Carly was right behind me.

She managed to make it to the forest, I saw blood on a rock formation. She must have squeezed her way though and hid inside.

I tried to peek inside, I saw her curled up in a little ball, her white fur stained red. Her breathing seemed to be very shallow, I had to get her the the clinic now.

I shifted back into a human and reached in to grab her, I pulled her out as carefully as I could.

The poor little fox was shaking, covered in blood.

Carly whimpered with tears in her eyes

“Carly I need you to go tell her parents what happened and have them go to the clinic.”

Without hesitation she was gone, I cradled the poor fox in my arms and ran as fast as I could to the clinic.

I kicked open doors and yelled for the nurses

“Quick she needs help!”

2 nurses came running out and saw the fox

“I’m not sure how we’ll be able....”

I quickly cut her off

“Please try, you have to have someone here who can help.”

She looked at the other nurse

“ Well a lot of the doctor aren’t here because of the haze but.... Dr. Mendoza is here. She maybe able to help follow me.”

She lead me down the all into a big room with a bunch of machines. I carefully place Aroura on the table, the other nurse handed me a pair of pants.

I quickly put them on and watched as they tried to check her vitals, the doctor quickly came in. She was an older woman, she must have been new here cause I’ve never seen her before.

She looked at the fox in disbelief

“Is that a.... fox?”

She had a Spanish accent.

I nodded

“Please, help her.”

I felt the tears fall from my eyes.

She nodded

“What’s her vitals?”

One of the nurse looked grave shaking her head

“It doesn’t look good from what I can see is she has a lot of broken bones some blood lose and possible internal bleeding. Her heart beat is dangerous low, but I can’t fully tell less she shifts back to human.”

She looked at the fox

“What happened?”

I shook my head

“She was attacked by a wolf during the haze, he tried to...”

I couldn’t finish the sentence.

Her eyes widened for she knew where I was going.

“Oh my, well then I will have to do a full exam. First I have to have her shift so I’m going to have to give her a shot. You can wait in the waiting room.”

I shook my head

“No, I’m not leaving her.”

She felt the Alpha power coming off me, she nodded her head.

One of the nurse left and came back with a needle with neon blue serum in it. She carefully scruffed the foxes fur and injected the serum, she carefully pet the spot she stuck the needle.

Her body started to shift, her body was black blue and purple all over.

The doctor covered her mouth and tried to hold back tears

“Oh my Goddess, this was from one wolf?”

I stood in shock, staring at her n***d body covered with blood and bruises.

The nurses hooked her up to a bunch of machines and IVs, to doctor put her gloves on and decided to start with Aroura head.

Her face wasn’t as bad compared to the rest of her body, she had a bruise on her forehead with a cut like she tried to head butt Brian a few times.

The doctor opened her eyes and checked her pupils

“She has a concussion but I don’t think any brain damage, won’t know for sure till she wakes up. No blooding from the ears or eyes which is good, possibly fractured where she clearly head butted the attacker.”

She worked her way down her neck

“Her neck is fine, her collarbone seems to be ok. Possible tissue damage in her shoulders and arms.”

She made her way to her ribs, a light touch made Aroura’s body flinch.

I growled

The doctor threw her hands up

“Her ribs are severely broken, we’re going to have to do an ultrasound sound and X-ray to fully see the damage. Hopefully none of her organ have ruptured.”

She made her way to her hips and froze

“Sally” she gestured to one of the nurse and whispered to her

“Please go and get a r**e kit from the back room and a Morning After pill.”

Anger filled my body, I didn’t get to her in time. Tears ran down my face

“I was to late.”

The doctor looked at me, she lifted my chin up to look at her golden eyes

“You saved her life, if you didn’t find her she’d be dead.”

Guilt still filled my head.

The nurse can back with a black bag and a little cup with a little blue pill.

I couldn’t watch when they did the r**e kit, I looked at Aroura face and held her hand.

“I’m so sorry my love.”

I whispered in her ear lightly kissing her cheek.

The doctor finished the kit

“Well good news and bad news, good news is he didn’t ejaculate any fluid in her so she won’t need the pill. The bad news is she has some vaginal trama, I’ll give her some antibiotics and clearly some very heavy pain meds to help her heal.”

I nodded my head and continued to stare at Aroura’s peaceful face.

“Does she know?”

I looked at the doctor confused

“Know what?”

She looked at me with a small smile

“That she’s your mate?”

I shook my head

“No, no one knows. Just like how no one outside the community knows she exists.”

She nodded

“I promise on my life, I won’t tell a soul.”

She cleaned up and tried to wrap Aroura up to help her heal better.

They put a light blanket over her to keep her warm

“You know the closer you are the faster she’ll heal, it’s the power of the mates bond. Even if she’s not of age yet it still works.”

One of the nurse came in

“Her parents are here.”

The doctor nodded

“Ok they can come in.”

The nurse nodded an left it get them

“I’m guessing her adopted parents don’t know as well.”

I nodded.

Ted and Mary came in shocked to see their daughter hooked up to machines.

“My Goddess!”

Mary cried rushing to Aroura other side, the doctor filled them in on everything.

“It will be awhile before she’ll be fully healed. But she’ll survive thanks to the future Alpha, he saved her life.”

Mary came around and hugged me

“Thank you Dominic.”

I nodded, still feeling guilty. Thinking if I didn’t waste time in the woods with her if she would have made it home in time.

They stayed for a few hours then left when visiting hours were over, the doctor let me stay she told them it was for protection.

The doctor winked at me and smiled.

I smiled back, everyone left the room.

I looked at Aroura, the cut on her forehead healed and the bruise was no longer purple.

She was healing faster now normally the healing processes was slow in human form unless the mate was near.

The closer the mate the faster the heal.

I carefully crawled on the bed, gently snuggling up to her.

Her smell soothed me enough to fall asleep.
