The Last Fox

Chapter 3

I can’t believe what just happened tonight, I feel so bad for Dom. I heard the Blood Moon Pack was bad but not bad enough for Dom to want kill himself instead of marriage. Of course they rarely spoke of the pack to me, I don’t know really anything about them.

I slipped out of my dress hung it up in my closet, I walked around in only my underwear, I like letting my skin breath since I can’t shift like everyone else. I only get to shift when Dom and I go to our secret spot deep in the woods, it was a stupid rule. They never told me why they made that rule for only me, they just told me it was for my own safety cause foxes were weak and they don’t have a doctor for a fox just wolves. I chuckle to myself, I know it’s to keep me hidden from who ever kill my race, I’m a fox and foxes are super intelligent. I know a lot of things they think I don’t know, but I keep it to myself and wait for the right time to use it. I sit in front of my vanity and take the braid out of my hair, I run the brush though my long silver hair. I remember when I was younger we tried to color my hair to cover the silver, we did black, brown, red, even blonde but it didn’t work. It just washed right out, they tried giving me colored contacts to cover my eye color but they were painful and I couldn’t see. Every time a neighbor pack came for meetings or events Alpha Thomas would have Dom take me somewhere or my parents would take me to Disney for a week if it was a big event. I knew the law he set for the pack to never mention my existence, back in the 2nd grade a group of girls cornered me in the bathroom throwing trash at me saying I put everyone in danger by being alive and how I should kill myself. That’s when Carly and I became best friend, I remember she came in and knocked two of the girls heads together and soccer punch the other one. She was Beta Chris daughter, no one messed with her. The girls ran out of the bathroom crying yelling for a teacher, Carly held out her hand and helped me up. She picked the trash out of my hair, she told me I have beautiful hair and she was jealous.

I smiled at the memory, I grabbed a makeup wipe and cleaned the makeup off my face.

I heard a knock on my door

“Hang on!”

I yelled grabbing my robe

“Ok come in!”

My dad peeked his head in eyes closed

“Is it safe?”

He learned to knock after walking in on me n***d a few time.

I chuckled

“Yes dad, your fine.”

He opened his golden eyes

“How you doing kiddo?”

I nodded

“I’m ok, did they sort out the whole arranged mating thing for Dom?”

His face dropped

“Not yet, his father is hoping he finds his mate before his birthday. Speaking of birthday!”

He was trying to change the subject

“What do you want to do for your big 18?”

I knew this was going to be a hard birthday for me, is the birthday I’m supposed to be able to find my mate.

I shrugged

“I don’t know maybe something small like a cake and maybe just have Dom and Carly over watch a movie or something.”

He nodded

“Ok I’ll get something together for you sweetheart, time for bed you got school.”

He kissed my forehead and closed my door.

I sighed, it’s going to suck this year. 18 is when everything get more intense, since I’m the only fox I had to learn everything from books about fox biology. When a fox hits 18 they normally find their mate instantly causing their heat cycles to get more intense. A foxes heat is different from a wolfs, wolves heat cycle is painful and lasts for a day. While a foxes heat cycle is not painful, the fox becomes very sexually aroused and very flirty, they can’t control it and it last for 48hours. When I get my heat cycle I lock myself in the basement and try to work out my urges, it sometimes works. These heat cycles continue getting more and more tense until the fox has a baby, when a fox becomes pregnant it releases calming hormones that will sooth the heat cycles after the baby is born.

Course that will never happen for me, a tear ran down my cheek. I wiped it away and held my head high and took a deep breath

“It’s ok, it’s ok.”

It wasn’t ok, tears flooded my eyes escaping down my cheeks. Good thing I was a silent cryer, years of practice. I laid in my bed asking the Goddess why me, why she left me all alone in the world.

I ended up crying myself to sleep.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I peeked one eye open, I groan and shut off the alarm. I sit up and wipe the crusties from my eyes from cry, I jump in a cold shower to fully wake up. I dry off blow dry my hair get dressed, black tee shirt and denim shorts with my black converse. I did light makeup just eyeliner and cranberry lipstick, I ran down stairs to the smell of cinnamon rolls, my favorite. I sat at the table mom already had 3 big rolls ready for me with a tall glass of milk, I shoved one roll in my mouth moaning as I ate it.

“Take it easy, your going to choke.”

Mom said pour dads coffee as he sat down

“Geese you know you eat like a teenage wolf.”

He said sipping his coffee

I smiled, I finished my breakfast. I grabbed my back pack gave my parents a kiss and ran out the door.

As soon as I stepped out Carly pulled up

“Come on Foxy we’re going to be late.”

I jumped in the car and we rode to school,

“You ready for the Pack Fight tonight.”

She said with a smirk and a wink

“Hell yea, I was born ready.”

We laughed, I’ve been waiting for this day. If I won the Fight then maybe everyone will stop treating me different, maybe some will respect me as well.

We parked the car and walked to the school when I heard a fox whistle

“Hey foxy you ready to wrestle tonight?”

Brian said grabbing himself

I just ignored him and kept walking but he jumped infront of me

“I promise I’ll take it easy on you unless you say otherwise.”

He said reaching around to pinch my a*s.

Instinctively I shoved and slapped him across the face leaving a red hand print

He smiled

“Whoo you got some fight in you, I like that.”

He took a step forward, I prepared myself to fight when the bell rang.

“Saved by the bell, til next time Foxy.”

He said blowing me a kiss

“f*****g pig.”

Carly said pulling me to math class.

I hated school, it was so easy for me. Honestly I didn’t pay attention at all I just sat there and doodled in my note book. I sat in the back of the classroom cause I guess I “distracted” people meaning the boys wouldn’t stop staring at me. The teachers gave up trying to catching me off guard, I knew all the answers, benefits of being a fox. The only time people interacted with me was when we had school projects, only then would people fight over me being on their team. Other then that no one wanted anything to do with me, well except Tabitha. Tabitha was the Queen bee, she always though she was going to be Luna of the pack cause she was little miss popular and she had a huge crush on Dominic. But when Dominic turned 18 and found she wasn’t his mate she was pissed but she still holds on to this fantasy that when she turns 18 they’ll be mates. She vowed that when she’s Luna she was going to banish me form the region or make me be her personal slave. I always just laughed at her and ignored her, no point in arguing with stupid.

The bell rang for lunch, I head for the cafe. I looked at the lunch menu to try and figure out what I wanted when something hard hit me in the head

*CLUNCK*

“Ow what the f**k?!”

I rubbed the back of my head I looked down the see an apple at my feet

“Oops it slipped.”

Tabitha giggled with her minions, she was a typical mean girl. Long blonde hair, fake tan skin, bright hazels eyes, lots of makeup and wears slutty clothes. She slept with half the boys at school, the ones she concerned cool besides Dom. He’s tried to sleep with him multiple time and asks him out constantly but each time he turns her down.

A little growl rumbled in my chest

She giggled

“Aw you mad? We’ll get use to it, since Dom needs a mate he’s going to have to pick me unless he want to marry that psycho Shia. And when I become Luna I’m going to make you my personal jester.”

I wasn’t going to wast my time with this b***h, I head to the doors to leave and I felt a tug on my hair

“Don’t walk away from me you little b***h!”

I turned and shoved her off me

“Touch me again and see what happens.”

I felt the heat rising in my chest, I keep telling myself to calm down she’s not worth it just walk away.

Tabitha laughed and made a sad face

“Aw does wittle foxy not want to pway?”

I had to get out of here before I hit her I tried heading for the doors again when I felt her nails dig into my arm.

“I said don’t walk aw.....”

I lost it, as soon as she touched me I lost control. I swung my fist and hit her face, pretty sure I broke her nose cause a loud c***k filled the air.

The whole room gasped, Tabitha fell to the ground screaming

“You stupid b***h, you broke my nose. Get her!”

She screamed to her minions

The three of them circled me, typical wolf move. I let my fox sensed take over, I felt the one behind me lunge forward. I spin to the right grabbed the back of her shirt and threw her into one of the other minions knocking them both into the trash bins. The third one threw a punch missing my face by an inch I grabbed her arm and punched her three time in the ribs and kicked her to the ground. One down, the other two tried to attack at the same time until I jumped up and swung my leg kicking them both in the head knocking them out.

Three down, Tabitha stood up.

“That it b***h your mine.”

She let out a roar as she charged at me, I charged back I went low tackling her to the ground. I got on top of her and started swinging, I couldn’t stop.

*c***k c***k c***k*

I felt multiple people try to pull me off but I wiggled out of the hold and continued beating the s**t out of the b***h.

*ZAP*

A stinging pain shot me in the back releasing waves of electricity though my body,

Their f*****g tasering me

Then everything went dark.

I slowly opened my eyes to a bright light, I tried to sit up but stopped when a sharp pain waved though my back were they teased me. I felt a wet spot were the prongs pierced my skin, I probably got blood on my shirt now.

I looked at my hand and saw they were covered in blooded

“s**t”

I said to myself

“Oh s**t your awake, dude you are one crazy b***h. Taking on 4 wolves man you got some balls Foxy.”

Carly was sitting in chair next to me, I looked around and realized I was in the wolf clinic.

“What happened?”

I asked slowly getting up fighting through the pain in my back.

Shock and excitement filled Carlys face but a deep voice changed her expression to fear, she quickly looked down.

“Was hoping you would tell me?”

Alpha Thomas walked in with a serious look on his face.

I sighed

“Well Tabitha threw an apple at my head and wouldn’t let me leave, she dig her claws in my arm and.... I don’t know I guess I just snapped, I lost control.”

I looked him straight in they eye, which your not supposed to do then again I do a lot of things I’m not supposed to do.

He nodded his head

“Well Tabitha told me a complete difference story.”

I scoffed

“Of course she did.”

He smiled a little

“Don’t worry she ended telling the truth, but even though she did start the fight you did some serious damage. You still need to be punished, which is why I’m pulling you out of the Pack Fight tonight.”

My heart sank

“What?! I’ve been training for this you can’t do that.”

A flicker of anger ran though his face

“I am Alpha, I can do that. Just because your a fox doesn’t mean you aren’t part of this pack. You follow the same rules as everyone else, that is final.”

I took a breath to say something I knew I was going to regret went Carly grabbed my hand

“Don’t.”

She whispered

I huffed

“This is bullshit.”

I said jumping off the bed and storming out of the room past the Alpha.

As I walked down the hall I could hear Carly apologizing for me to the Alpha. I just shook my head, I passed the room that Tabitha was in, I heard her doing her fake crying saying how her birthday was ruined now cause she may not heal in time for her party.

I smile

At lease something good came out of this.

I walked thought the sliding door, I didn’t want to go back to school, I didn’t want to hear the whispers and have people stare at me. So I just started walking around enjoying the warm sun.

*BUZZ BUZZ*

I grabbed my phone to see a text from dad

‘We’re going to have a long talk when I get home tonight.’

I sighed and put the phone back in my pocket, I rubbed the spot on my back were I was teased. It was slowly healing, I would heal faster if I shifted. So I headed to the wood line, walked a few feet in it out of sight of wondering eyes.

I stripped out of my clothes and hide them in a tree, then shifted.

Ah much better

I felt the pain going away a bit faster now, there was two holes where hair was missed on my back.

The skin was slowly starting to close the holes.

I ran deeper into the woods feeling the dirt under my paws as I ran, the smell of the trees. I enjoyed being a fox, it was so freeing not have to answer to anyone. I finally made it the the pond, I lend over to drink some water when I heard a twig snapped.

I quickly turned into the direction the sound came from, I kept low and ready to attack.

I looked around it, it was quite. Then suddenly a big brownish black wolf jumped out of the wood with a roar, I jumped back falling in the pound. I popped my head up and climbed out of the pond soaking wet.

*Heard you need to cool off after what happened at school today.*

Dom said laughing, I looked at him and shaked splashing him with water.

*You scared the s**t out of me.*

He snickered, he walked closer and stopped when he saw the two small patches of hair missing on my back, the holes closed together but the hair hasn’t grew fully back yet.

*I can’t believe they tased you, those teasers are set for full grown wolves. It could have killed you.”

I felt the anger in his voice

*I can’t believe your dad banned me from the Pack Fight tonight, I’m so pissed.*

Dom looked down felt something was being hidden, I squinted my eyes at him

*Dom, do you have something to tell me?”

He shook his big black head, I inched closer to him

*Dom. Tell me now!*

He couldn’t look me in the eyes now, I started nipping at his side.

*Tell me.*

Nip

*Tell me!*

Nip

*Fine, fine! But you didn’t hear it from me.*

He sighed

*The hazing is coming early this month, the elders felt the change this morning. Father said you needed to be home when it hits which maybe during the fight. It’s for your protection.*

Now I felt like a jerk

*Oh.*

Dom sat next to me

*We know you can handle yourself but not during a haze with about 50 s*x crazy guys, with me being one of them.*

I stiffened straight up with wide eyes, the thought of Dom wanting to have crazy animalistic s*x with me made my body vibrant and heat up, if I wasn’t in fox form I’d be very red right now.

Sensing my tension Dom stumbled over his works

*I mean I wouldn’t want to cause I wouldn’t be able to control it... I mean it’s not like I wouldn’t want to... I mean your beautiful and.... I mean.*

He was freaking out at this point, he was like a child hopped up on sugar.

I slowly tilted my head at him

*Dom! I get it, I was in s*x Ed. I learned all about the Haze and what it does to wolves. I understand it’s uncontrollable.*

He settled down and relaxed

*Right I’m...so..... What do you want to do for your birthday? It’s the big 18.*

I shrugged

*I was thinking just having you and Carly come over for cake and watch a movie or something.*

He nodded his head, he looked up at the sky and saw the sun was sitting a little under the top of the trees

*We should be heading back, looks like it’s almost 3ish. We’re still not sure when the haze will hit so you should go lock yourself up.*

I looked up

*Your right I should be heading home, I’ll see you tomorrow, have fun at the fight.*

He turned around with his back to me and shifted, I quickly looked down so I didn’t see anything but I did get a glimpse of his butt.

“I’m not going to the fight.”

He said putting on his clothes, starting with his pants.

I looked up at him surprised

*What do you mean your not going, you always went.*

He turned around putting on his belt

“I really only went cause you wanted to go and now that you can’t well..” He knelt down infront of me, “There’s no reason for me to go.”

I looked at his face then traveled down to his chest, he gained a lot of muscle since he’s been gone. His skin was a golden tan now and very well defined, my eye traveled towards his pant line showing his V.

My little nose twitched before I darted my eyes back up to his, he had a cocky smile.

“Come on Foxy let’s get you home.”

He reached out his arms, I leaped and nestled up in his chest.
