Chapter 6

1280 Words
Anna's POV: My eyes were closed, but I could hear a fight going on upstairs. Then everyone started howling. When Hunter died, they lost their Alpha. And it seemed the whole Black Moon Clan was up there killing everyone in the pack. Cole approached me and licked my face. I reached for his face but my hand fell limp. I had absolutely no power to even lift my hand. He quickly stood over me, grabbing the shock collar in this mouth. Cole bit down hard, snapping it in half and it slid down to the floor. Damon was now in control and shifted back to himself. He took his shirt off, picking me up bridal style and covering me with it. I knew I was out of it, but I couldn’t help but feel the tingles laying against Damons chest. He had an eight pack, and he was actually quite tall. Maybe six foot three? Either way, once I’m actually able to stand next to him, he will tower over me. The Jade Moon Clan was over. The survivors headed for the hills or joined other clans. My brother Jake and his mate Lilly disappeared, but we would worry about them later. Damon quickly got me back to his home, this time having Dr. Kristen meet us there. He carried my inside, taking my straight upstairs to his bedroom. "Please hang on Anna. I am so sorry I left you. Just stay with me." Damon said as he laid me on the bed. "How bad is it this time Dr.?" She shook her head and made a phone call.  "I am going to need you to step out so my people and I can work on her.  But stay close, I will need some of your blood because you are her mate, she will accept it. I don't know her blood type." Then two men came in with scrubs and tools and Ruby came in taking Damon out with her.  "Just hang on sweetie. It will be over soon." With that, she placed a mask on my face and I slowly fell asleep. Damon's POV: I can't believe that alpha seriously took her again. That pack is done. She doesn't have to worry about them. We didn't find her brother though and that worries me. Cole is always on edge because he doesn't want Anna or Nova to be hurt again. She has been through so much already. We have alot to talk about once she wakes up. We don't know anything about each other. "Ruby, did you find anything else out about her while I was gone?" I asked. "Only thing I know is that she is seventeen, which is why she hasn't shifted." Then it hit me. I didn't know the slightest thing about her. I needed to find out everything. We waited for about two hours when Dr. Kristen came out.  "Damon, I have good news and bad news. Good news is she is stable. Bad news is, I don't know when she will wake up. Her mind seems to be blocked off completely and I think you will be the only one who can bring her back out." Without hesitation, I ran into the room. She looked so pitiful, but she looked better. She had bandages all over her and her skin was pale. I went over to the bed and took her hand in both of mine and closed my eyes. I was gifted with the power of connecting with someones inner soul, so I closed my eyes and started searching. There were so many memories that I saw, I saw her being tortured and punished, I also saw a family together with a small girl and boy. I knew that was her family. I wonder where her parents were and why they didn't try to help her. I kept moving through her mind when I came to a door. It had a lock with a four letter combination on it.  I thought for a second and entered Nova since that was her wolf's name. I heard a click and the door swung open. I saw Anna sitting in the middle of a black room with her knees pulled into her chest. She was crying uncontrollably and stopped when she heard the door close. "Damon, is that you? It can't be. I've been in here for a week and no one has heard me." I ran to her and pulled her to me.  "Sweetie, you just got out of surgery a little bit ago. It hasn't even been a day." I tried reassuring her. "You don't understand. Time is different here. I've been alone for eight days. I should of shifted by now. I thought I was dead." "You should of shifted? How about we get out of here and go back home?" I asked. She sniffed and nodded her head. I carried her to the door where it swung back open and we left. Anna's POV: I woke up back in the room with Damon holding my hand and Dr. Kristen standing in the corner smiling at me.  "Good job Damon, I didn't expect you to find her that fast. It only took you two hours. I will be back shortly to check on you." She turned and walked out of the room.  "So what did you mean when you should of shifted?" Damon asked. "What is the date today?" I replied. "Today is the thirtieth of September, why?" He said. "Oh no, oh no. I am going to shift at midnight. I am not going to make it through that! Look at me!" I yelled. Damon grabbed my chin and made me look at him.  "I will be right there with you. I will talk to Dr. Kristen and see what she thinks will be best. Just try not to stress yourself out anymore." He walked to the door and poked his head out, "Can you send the doctor back in please?" He closed the door behind him and sat with me on the bed. I didn't cower away this time. I felt so safe with him. He had saved me three times in a total of a week. I slid closer to him, allowing our bodies to touch. I wanted to feel the tingles and sparks that came from the bond we have. We both turned when we heard the door open. Dr. Kristen came in and stood at the end of the bed. "What seems to be the problem?" She asked. "Well, it seems Anna's birthday is tomorrow. And she is turning eighteen." Dr. Kristens eyes grew big and immediately started writing things down on her notepad. "Alpha, we will need to draw more blood from you. She is going to need it tonight. We will have to set something up outside to make sure we can help her through this. Well, you help her get through it." "Won't you be there?" I asked. "I am sorry, but I can't. When a wolf shifts for the first time, the only one who can be there is their mate. Otherwise, they may hurt or even kill someone if they come too close. It wouldn't be fair to anyone if we stayed with you." I nodded my head and began to go over the different scenarios in my head. I could die, I could kill someone if they try to help me, or I don't shift at all. I was beginning to panic, but Damon smiled at me and the fears quickly went away. Now I just needed to wait a couple more hours and my shift would begin.
