The Abused Mate

Chapter 7

Anna's POV:

It was almost midnight and I was sitting on the ground outside the pack house. Damon and Dr. Kristen were running around with nurses trying to get everything ready. Ruby was sitting beside me holding my hand, rubbing circles on it with her thumb. 

"Ruby, I'm scared. I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle this. They took blood from all of you for me. I don't want to die." I confessed.

"You are going to be just fine. My brother is going to be with you. Besides, you and him are mates. He is literally the only one who can make a first shift not so bad." She replied.

"I know, I'm just scared." I said as I zoned off. I wondered what Nova would look like. I knew she would be beautiful either way. I closed my eyes so I could talk to her. We only had ten minutes.

"Nova? Are you ready to make your grand entrance?"

"Anna, I don't want to hurt you."

"Look, it was going to happen at some point. It might not even happen tonight."

"Oh no, Anna. It's happening. I can feel it. I have never felt more ready."

"Well, if your ready, then I'm ready. I love you Nova."

"I love you too, Anna."

I opened my eyes to see Damon standing in front of me with everyone standing behind him.

"We have five minutes til midnight. I will be with you the whole time." Damon said smiling at me.

"I'm sorry we have to leave but we are going to be right there in the pack house located in the second floor bedroom right there so we can see what happens. If we have to come down, we will." Ruby said.

"NO!" I yelled. "I will not risk anyone's life. End of discussion. I will see you all when this is done."

Everyone quickly went inside as there was two minutes left. Ruby yelled from the window, and everyone else smiled and waved. I looked back at Damon knowing this was going to change everything. I was going to be a new person. I was so scared, but I didn't want Damon to see it. I told Nova to be strong and don't let Cole know how we truly feel. We both have to be strong to get through this. 

Damon looked at his phone and it was 11:59pm. I took a deep breathe and kissed Damon. If I did die, atleast this kiss would mean everything. I put my heart and soul into that kiss, and I know he could feel it. It was full of passion and love, but it was quickly interruppted but the sound of a bone snapping.

I dropped to the ground in pain as I felt my feet start to elongate into paws and wolf legs. I felt my rib cage break and move. I felt my spine snap and stretch, then I felt my arms stretch and break. I closed my eyes as I felt every bone possible break and reshape. It hadn't even been a full minute! I could hear Damon yelling at the doctor to come down.

"She is shifting too fast! This could kill her!" Damon yelled. I could hear everyone yelling and coming down outside.

"STOP!" I managed to yell out, and everyone stopped dead in their tracks. Did I just do that?

"There is no way. Damon, is she?" Matt asked.

"Hang on, everyone stay where they are!" Dr. Kristen yelled.

I opened my eyes and could tell I was looking through someone else's eyes. I looked down and saw white fur, and very large paws.

"Nova?"

"We have shifted Anna!"

"Nova?" I heard Damon call out. All I could do was watch and listen.

Damon's POV:

Anna shifted for the first time and it didn't even take her five minutes. Hell, it didn't even take her two minutes. Nova is a beautiful wolf. What I don't understand is how she looks just like me. She has the same black half crescent moon, its just on her right eye. She is even the same size. I could tell when she yelled stop that she was an alpha. I don't think she even knew she was one. I will need to ask about her family. It was extremely rare for a female to be a white wolf, let alone an alpha. It was just unheard of. I have a very strong mate.

"Nova?" I finally spoke out. She lifted her head and I was met with fire red eyes. It was mesmerizing. That would be one way to tell us apart when we were shifted together. She walked over to me and nudged me with her snout.

"She wants me to come out." Cole said through the mindlink. I didn't hesitate. I gave him full control so I could make them both comfortable. I know Anna was probably freaking out on the inside. Atleast when I shift, I can talk to her. 

We shifted quickly and Cole approached Nova and licked her face. They started rubbing snouts and walking around each other. After a few minutes, Cole gave me control and we shifted back. Nova gave Anna control back and she shifted just as quickly as I did. When she shifted back, she had on underwear and a bra. I had to shift behind a tree and put boxers and shorts on. This must be a gift she has. She also had a new light about her. She seemed whole. Her scars were barely visible, they were actually disappearing on her skin. Her breasts had grown a little bit because her posture was now perfect. Her hair was glowing. The gash on her face was completely gone.

"Anna, you did amazing! You look amazing!" Ruby yelled.

"Hang on, sis." I said back to her.

"Anna, a few things have changed, but before I show you them, I need to tell you something. Your wolf is literally identical to mine. You even have the same moon on your face, its just on your right eye." I said looking back at Anna.

"I'm not going to lie. It hurt like hell, but I actually feel amazing. Does that usually happen?" She said as she looked down at her body, noticing all her scars were fading before her eyes.

"What's going on? What's happening?" She said. Before I could answer, a bright white light appeared in front of us, causing everyone to gather behind Anna and myself. The light got bigger and a woman appeared in the middle of it. She seemed to step out of it, like she was standing on a platform that was invisible.

"Hello, my children. I am here because Nova has finally came forth. I can not stay long, so I will leave you with this. You are one of the blessed wolves, but not just any. You are blessed with five gifts. Five of which you will discover with time. One you have discovered already. When you do discover them, use them wisely. They will aid you Alpha Damon. She is made just for you, as you are for her. You both are alphas, you will challenge each other, but it will only make you stronger. 

You are destined for great things my children.  Each and every one of you. And Anna, I made the scars and wounds disappear. You are literally good as new. No one deserves that kind of pain and suffering. I love you all."

The light disappeared as quickly as it came and she was gone.

"Was that the Moon Goddess?" Matt asked.

"Yes. And it seems we have a bright future ahead of us." I replied.

"That's cool and all, but she said I'm a WHAT?" Anna yelled.

I responded with a smile, "You are an Alpha."
