CHAPTER 4

1104 Words
The following day as I promised, I approach the Alpha’s quarters on time as the newly employed maid. His broad chest and wide smiles make me salivate until I nod and quickly enter. His presence was enveloping my senses, except for the devilish smirk that does appear across his chin when he completes a task. “You should be training already, not here in my room.” He says but I remain quiet, awaiting his order. Richy soon enters the room, jerking me towards himself suddenly. He looks responsible as a beta, as far as I know. I soon reach the field and it’s a great sight to watch wolves shift and train themselves in the intricacies of combat. “So lovely." I comment when a white wolf darts towards another blue wolf. Richy swallows as he keeps staring at me. I can clearly see him with my peripheral vision and I’m already embarrassed by those stares. “You’re next.” He suddenly informs and everyone begins to cheer. I stare daggers at him, “should that be so quick?” He smiles to encourage me and I eventually shrug my shoulders, hoping everyone won’t make too much jest of me. “Amanda with the blue wolf and…Leah!” The master screams in joy as every wolf around us applauds. As she shifts into her wolf to the excitement of everyone, my breaths tremble as I see death face to face. Suddenly, my spirit is troubled and my body is affected due to that. My body begins to grow hairy , suddenly and quickly, until I become one like her. I taunt her to approach and she moves rapidly towards me but I slide under her, but not without a scratch on her wolf. She displays a lot of skills as the most skilled werewolf but I evade all the attacks and I can swear I don’t know what is happening. When her wolf is now enervated and can no longer attack, I hurry towards her but the wolves around stop me so I don’t injure her again. The next place I find myself is in Lucas’ quarters, handcuffed. “Why the hell would you lie to me about your identity?” He screams. “I swear, I don’t know what happened!” “You almost killed our best werewolf. She sustained a lot of injuries from your attacks but you claim to be an omega?” He questions but I raise my brows quizzically in response. “Richy, lock her up in the cell and ensure she remains there until further investigation is carried out and she is not guilty.” He orders. My pleas fall on his deaf ears and I’m kicked inside the pack cell. It’s my second time visiting here – first is being suspected to have lied about being banished from the pack and now, about getting a werewolf not to talk about attacking the most skilled werewolf and injuring her so severely? There’s no close person that’ll believe I could do that. I myself don’t believe. The room I’m kicked into is dark and empty. I walk around, thinking of chances of escape. I suddenly lay low when I hear a little cute voice. The voice sounds very close to me. It must be close to the pack cell, close to my room, very close to myself! Layla, who’s layla? “We.” The voice responds. This is definitely my wolf. I have read a few books on how wolves speak for the very first time. I can’t contain the excitement of having my wolf speak to me. I ask her a few more questions and I am being replied to. I chuckle softly at that achievement. Hours turn into days, days turn into a week before I am finally released from the pack cell. I can smell Richy as he approaches with an expressionless face. He enters the room and removes the chains from my hands. As we walk back to the Alpha’s quarters, he claims to be advising me. “Leah, are you a very strong werewolf? You didn’t have to state otherwise to the Alpha. He’d have given you more ground to train and be trained. No more lies, promise?” I find it stressful to argue with him, so I only nod my head, whispering back, “no more lies.” Each time I visit the Alpha in his room, I usually find only him inside or with Richy but it is different this time around. There’s another man with a commanding presence right beside him. It seems they are waiting for me. “You can excuse us, Richy.” Lucas deadpans. Lucas’ eyes glisten as he moves eerily close to me, pointing his fingers also, “now tell me, are you the weak omega I saved? Or do you want more weeks in the pack cell? It’s actually a very nice place to live.” And there appears the devilish smirk. I stutter, “I swear, I was banished from my pack because I am an omega. I don’t know what is happening.” He moves away from me like though he knew that was what I would say. “I have a seer right here. Tested and Trusted. No wolf has the rights to feed an Alpha with lies when the seer is present. Tell him everything you know and he’ll confirm the truth.” He says and offers me a seat. Before I start to speak, Richy re-enters the room and Lucas allows him to stay so as to hear my confessions. “All my life, I’ve been an omega that has been thrashed by mates with stronger werewolves. I don’t have someone close to me to advise me on how to get my wolf or train hard to quit being an omega. I swear that I don’t understand how it happened at the field.” Lucas wants to talk but the seer refrains him. “I’ll take it from there. Leah Young was an omega and was truly banished from mooncrest pack. But there’s a special wolf within her. Her previous Alpha never found out, neither did you, Lucas.” “Are you now a full werewolf?” Lucas interrupts. I nod my head slightly. “Why didn’t you inform me earlier?” “I only recently got my wolf, Lucas.” I whisper back as our gazes meet and converge at the seer’s. “She is from the Alpha’s bloodline and of course…” He continues to say, as we glare at him, “she’s a dire wolf.”
