Rayne ran forward while dribbling the ball. Just then, Layla and Amara flanked her, instantly confusing her. They lunged at her simultaneously, with Layla heading for the ball with full force while Amara approached from the other side.
As Rayne was occupied by Layla, Amara moved in to swipe the ball from her. She then headed for the basket while blocking Sia, who moved left and right with impressive footwork. Sia swiftly took the ball from her and passed it to Daphne, who was already positioned near the basket and blocking Tori from getting past her.
Sia threw the ball over to Daphne. Daphne and Tori jumped at the same time, both trying to catch it. Daphne caught the ball, quickly jumped to the left and made the shot.
Clapping sounds erupted from the stands, and someone shouted, "Whooooooo! Whooo! Wonderful girls! Absolutely wonderful!"
They all turned around at the same time. It was Coach Zatima.
"Hi, Coach!" Callista called from the far end of the court. The rest of the girls greeted the coach too as Callista jogged towards her.
"That was a beautiful strategy, Calli. I saw what you did there," the coach said.
Callista smiled briefly before turning to face the girls.
"Daphne, I am loving the speed and reflexes. Tori, you've gotten better at attacking. Layla and Amara, that coordination was top-notch. Rayne, very good stance management. And last but not least, Sia, that footwork was something else."
They all smiled to themselves and nodded in response to her praise.
"So, we're going to keep at it for another hour, then call it a day. Okay?"
"Okay!" they all replied.
"Let's start with some stamina-building exercises," the coach said.
"Yes, Coach!" they all replied.
Back at the hotel, Vincent was preparing to go out when he called for Arthur.
"Yes, Master Vincent," Arthur said.
"When the girls return, tell them I went for a meeting and will be back by eight o'clock tonight, so we'll have dinner together," Vincent said.
"Yes, sir," Arthur replied.
Vincent entered the elevator and came out on the top floor. A car was already waiting for him in front of the hotel. As he passed the reception, the receptionists greeted him.
"Good evening, sir."
He raised his right hand in acknowledgement and walked towards the car. A tall, well-built man in a suit opened the door, and Vincent got in.
"Where to, sir?" the driver asked.
"The company," Vincent replied.
The car sped off into the distance.
In another city, it was nighttime. A woman wearing a bodysuit was scaling the walls of a tall building skillfully, as though she had done it countless times before.
On the fifth floor of the same building, a young woman who looked to be in her mid-twenties, with hair reaching the middle of her back, sat in a café sipping tea while going through some documents.
Then, the next minute, she checked the time on her watch. This was actually a signal for three people in the café to make their move.
The first person, a young woman, finished her drink, stood up and walked out of the café.
