Chapter 10

She is the first drop of rain he craves for, She is the smile he longs for, She is the one, around whom his whole life revolves, She is the love and he is the lover. Haze. I stood there clenching my fist to let my hammering heart calm down but it did no help. Within a minute candles and lights were illuminated giving me clear idea of the place. I gulped as I saw the building I was standing on. It was horrifying, there were cells lined on one side. "Open the door." Hayden demanded and three guards bowed, obliging his command and with one look from him they disappeared from our sight. "Come with me." His voice hardened as he entered the prison. I gulped as I saw a man or say three werewolves chained to the wall. They was bloodied and scarred. "Crystal." Hayden repeated looking at me with determination, his eyes assured me safety. I swallowed harshly and entered in the prison. I wanted to stand behind him, the scene was too terrific for me to act bold here but Hayden clearly had different ideas. He grabbed my hand and pulled me beside him. The prisoners suddenly opened their eyes and an evil smirk etched on their face and I saw Hayden's fist clenching. "King." One of them said in a mocking tone. His gaze travelled to mine and his smirk turned in a wicked grin making me shiver a bit. "I see the Queen is here. Just how I heard about you, little and feisty." He said licking his lips and a disgusting chuckle escaped his mouth. Anger and disgust spread through me as his words rang in my ears. I stepped forward and smile widely at him. "And just how I heard about you, dirty and disgusting pig." I spat with utter sweetness. After all venom is more poisonous with sweet. His face turned red in anger and he wiggled through his chain and he screamed in pain as the chain dug deeper in his skin. It took me not more than a minute to realize that it was a silver chain. "What's your name?" Hayden asked him lowly and menacingly as he pushed me softly in side. The other prisoner laughed dryly and screamed in pain as Hayden punched him hard on his face. I flinched from the cracking voice. "You'll eventually die, either by me or by your alpha of rouges or whatever you call him, pup. Answer my questions honestly and maybe I'll have some mercy on you." He said coldly as he fisted his hairs in painful grip. I felt really glad for Hayden not treating me like this otherwise I would've died from the pain and fear. "He will never kill me or any of us. He'll show up here and save me, King." The prisoner spat with venom and Hayden laughed darkly. I felt goosebumps on my skin. "And he won't spare that little naive mate of yours Hayden Black." The third one spat with venom. He looked at me like a trash, a pure look of hatred on his face. "If you think you'll leave this cell alive, this is where you are wrong pup. Not to mention how brutal and painful your death will be. You will feel life evaporating from every cell of your body." He said lowly as he kicked him in the stomach. I saw fear visible on his face. As much he wanted to mask it he couldn't. "He won't let anything happen to us, he gave us his words and we are not afraid to die. So don't you worry about us but worry about your little mate King Black. It's not long when you'll hold her lifeless body." He said with a smirk. I gulped at his words. They are after me. They want me dead. Hayden took the burning rod and pressed it below his ear making him scream in pain and helplessness. "Do not say a word about her, do you get me?" His voice was deadly and harsh. My heart leaped hearing those words. "What? After years King finally found a weakness." The second prisoner mocked him and laughed sadistically, adding fuel to his rage and anger. He slammed his head into the wall making blood drip out of his head as the prisoner hissed in pain. "She is not a weakness. She'll always be my strength." As much as this was not the time I couldn't help but feel flattered by his words. "Danny." Hayden barked and within few seconds he was by our side. "Queen." He bowed at me and turned to Hayden. "Take care of the pup here, he seems to speak a lot then he should." His words send a shiver of fear down my spine. As much as I knew the guy in the prisoner was no good but I cannot stand the thought of torture he'll be going through. "As you command my King." And with that Hayden grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the dungeon. ~~~~~ I was busy reading my novel when I heard someone clearing their throat. I looked up from the book to find Josh standing in front of my door. "Queen." He greeted me as he entered the room. "Josh. It's nice seeing you around." I said with a smile. Honestly, he was a pain when I came new to the house, always keeping his King's words and orders but now I feel proud of the man standing in front of me, being loyal and honest is really rare these days. "King has asked for your presence in his study in half an hour." He said with a firm voice. He thought I would deny him but after witnessing today's event I know it will be important. "Sure, I'll be there on time." He nodded and left the room. I looked at the clock and it was almost dinner time. My stomach growled in process. I stood up and headed to kitchen and grabbed an apple to munch on since dinner was yet to get completed. "It's good to see you smiling Crystal." Alice spoke with a soft smile while stirring the curry she was preparing. "And it's good to see you finally addressing me by my name." I teased her as we burst out laughing. "Dinner will be done within few minutes. It will be good if you ask King to accompany you." She said while biting her lips and I rose my brow at her. "You both look good together. Moon goddess did a fabulous job here. You both balance each other." Her voice was soft and a lump formed in my throat. Relationships was never my thing and it never will be. Love is a myth, it's just infatuation we feel, nothing else and with time you replace your loved ones with others, breaking hearts in process. "Love", this words enough mocks me, this word led my mother to her grave. I won't be naive enough to fall for love, never. "Queen." I snapped out of my thoughts at her voice as I kept the half eaten apple on the counter and left the kitchen shakily. ~~~ I knocked the door and within seconds he opened the door. I walked inside the study and sat on the other chair in front of him. "You wanted to talk about something?" I asked with a deep breath. "You are under grave danger." He said with a hard gaze and cold voice. I laughed lightly not knowing what to do. As much as this topic was really serious and important, I couldn't help but laugh at my sudden change in life. Previously people never acknowledged me and now a whole group of rouges are behind me, plotting my murder. Great, just great! "Ya, I kind of witnessed it today." My words came out cold and he narrowed his eyes at me. "It's not a joke Crystal." He spoke gritting his teeth. "Of course it's not. They attacked me once and are trying again, I witnessed it myself. My life is in danger, of course I am not joking." I snapped at him. His eyes flashed dangerously as I snapped at him. It's never a good idea but I never learn. He gripped my arm and jerked me upwards and slammed me against the wall, pinning my hands above my head. He inched closer to me, making me get back to nothing but a wall. I was trapped. I was trapped as he leaned closer to me and his eyes were dark and fury was clearly written in them. His jaw clenched as he was trying to fight with himself not to hurt me. "Do not raise your voice at me Crystal. I mean it." He said lowly as his face was just an inch away from me making me gulp. I couldn't help but nod at him as he released my hand and backed a little. "I guess you called me here not to pin me against the wall." I said with very sweet smile and he locked his gaze with me and I swear his gaze softened as he came closer to me. "I can't provide you your privacy at the cost of your life Crystal." He said softly as he made me sit down on my seat again. "What do you mean?" I know this won't end up in my favour. It never does. He took a deep breath and said those words I was dreading of. "You're moving in with me, in my room." He said and I gaped at him. I stood up and glared at the person in front of me who claimed to be my mate. No way I am living with him in the same room. "But ain't I safe in your house? After all you are the King." He eyes widened a bit at my words, as if my words hit him hard. "Someone from the pack is conspiring against us. Someone who is playing very smartly by siding up with rouges. So no, I won't take any chances Crystal. So you are moving in with me, in my room, period." "I won't touch you, if that's what you're concerned for." He added after a long pause. "This is not up for negotiation, is it?" I asked him with a frown as his eyes went cold within seconds. "This is not up for negotiation." He confirmed with firm voice. His voice held finality. I sighed and looked at him. "You promise?" I asked with a firm look on my face. "I promise, I won't touch you without your consent."
