LETHIA
Eating with a friend and having my own bedroom felt very unfamiliar with me. In all my life I was trained to become a perfect assassin. An assassin who only knows how to kill and listen to our masters command without ever knowing how to let our guards down nor rest. Even in our sleep we were trained not to sleep fully but half. Anything could happen in our sleep that was what we were taught in the assassination institution. We were taught to kill never really have the experience in living in peace. Never truly undestanding the feeling of the warmth of a friend or a touch of kindness. In our experience, the world is dirty and messed up place. It's only to kill or to be killed.
But now everything has changed. Calix showed me warmth. She past a few more pizza to me in the table noticing that I was still hungry, but I didn't dare to eat more. She showed me a smile to someone who is a killer. She gave me a beautiful room which I never thought in this life time I could ever get. I always had to share the room with Mauren, which reeks in sweat and blood from all our training and jobs required.
I am grateful to Calix for saving me if it weren't for her I would be dead by now. Some part of me wants to trust her but the other part of me warns me to stay away from her. Its a natural way for assassin to react all humans can't be trusted including little children. Children are the most lethal weapon with just a drop of kindness shown to them they could come stab you behind your back once turned around.
That's why I never fail to do my job, and I do it perfectly with no flaws. I am afraid of what my master will do to me once I fail like those who had failed him. I am worried for myself. I have killed to be able to live until now.
I just don't understand why my master will kill me. Knowing Mauren she wouldn't do something so reckless not unless if its by our master order. I scrambled my thought over this matter. I didn't want to die nor I want to cause anymore grief.
But right now I am not one the assassin from the Diamond Institution and I don't really know if either that is a good thing or a bad thing. In frustration I bit my fingernails.
Knock! Knock!
I hurried to the door opening up to see that Calix was sweating from her run. She looked at me and smile. I didn't know how to react but to turn my hand into a fist with oversized shirt in it from embarrasment. Jamica came out of her bedroom which was in front of mine running up to Calix hugging her legs causing Calix to laugh. "I'm dirty Jamica," Calix stated.
"You still smell great even when you sweat Calix." Calix gave in a sheepish look. Taking Jamica up into her arms.
"So you say I smell good, Jamica. Now how about rubbing all my sweat onto your body."
"No. Ewww Calix. That's gross." Jamica said making the both of us laughed. Calix turns to look at me her wild blue eyes makes all kind kind of butterflies jumbled inside of me. When she smiles I can feel heat coming off of my face.
"Calix look Amy is blushing." Little Jamica pointed making me put my hand over to my face to hide the redness of my face. Why did Jamica have to say that now I don't have the face to see Calix? And why does a girl have to look god damn hot?
"Are you alright?" Calix said worried.
"I'm fine." My hands still on my face and when Calix placed her hand onto my forehead. It makes my embarassment even worst as I tried to calm all my nervousness down. Just what kind of power does Calix had over me.
"You don't have a fever that's one thing I know. But Lethia, do you have a phone?"
I shook my head. "As an assassin we don't have a phone. The only times that we have a phone is when receiving a call from our master."
"What's an assassin?" Jamica asked. "Why are you calling Amy Lethia?"
"An assassin is a super hero who saves many people whenever they are in danger. Also, she likes to be called Lethia. Is that ok with you, Jamica."
"As long as I can make you and Lethia happy I'll gladly do it. I'll like to be an assassin when I grow up."
"No," Calix quickly shook her head. "Don't ever do that kind of job to make mom, dad and me worry. Be a artist when you grow up don't you like to draw."
"Yes, I love to draw," Jamica responded. Calix pats Jamica on her head which sets my heart feeling with warm seeing them this way.
"Anyway, lets get you a phone today and do some shopping." Calix turns to look at me.
"Shopping?" which it sounded very unfamiliar with me. I never gone shopping before.
"Yea, you can't keep wearing my clothes forever." It was true. But to be honest I didn't mind the clothes she wear smells like nice like lavender. However, I shouldn't say that to Calix making her think I was weird so I nod my head in response. "Well see you downstairs in 15 minutes." She wave a hand at me and walked away. This is the first time I had gone shopping and I was a little excited to experience this change perhaps this was a good change. Hurriedly I took off my clothes headed inside the shower got out and wore a t shirt with blue jeans that Calix gave to me surprising me they both fits me like it was made for me. Making me wonder if this clothes were really actually Calix or is it Amy's?
I combed a little bit of my chocolate brown hair before running down the stairs making me look at Calix who had switched into a black t shirt with black jeans wearing sneakers going with small circle piercing on her left ear. Little Jamica dressed up quite elegantly in an aquatic blue dress. Calix looked at me for a while like she was in some trance. Making me wonder more about my similiarities to Amy.
The three of us headed out together the both of us held Jamica hands making her hop happily like she had felt happiness again. When the three of us got into the shopping mall a lot of people stared at me and Calix. I always knew that I wasn't bad looking but I never knew I could get so much attention making me feel quite uncomfortable. Calix seems to read my mind when the three walked inside a clothing shop. Calix pulled a long grey jacket down from the stands. She quickly placed the jacket over to me hiding my body from the crowd. "There you go." Calix said. She walked over to the counter and bought the jacket. "Wear it. It's quite chilly in here." I listened and I felt happiness of the warmth everyone wanted to experience.
Calix had bought so many things for me from dresses to accessories even some make up. Though I said it was enough from buying so much things for me. Calix said a girl must be confident in her appearance. To be honest I had so much fun.
On the way to the parking lot a few girls pointed to Calix running up to her before she can get into the car. The girls shrieked as they yelled out Calix name. "Oh my gosh its really Calix Stone."
"You are so handsome."
"May we take a picture with you?"
"Sure," Calix said. Taking pictures with them then waves them good bye.
Jamica fell alseep on the back seat due to the traffic. I stared at Calix for a bit before there was a ring in her phone. She answered.
"I'm outside. Sure, I'll be heading to your house. It'll take about twenty to twenty five minutes drive from where I am to your house. Yea see you there. Bye." She looks at me and smiles. "We'll be going to a friend house his name is Antonio. We go to the same school and we are on the same basketball team pretty much to say we are very close friends and let me tell one thing before we head there. He'll jumped when he sees you. Why? You look exactly like Amy."
When we reached to our destination a blonde hair boy appeared out of the house. "Human barbie doll!" he jumps. "How are you still alive?" Calix gave in a laughter before putting her hand on his shoulder.
"Antonio meet my friend, Lethia."
I waved my hand in greetance. "Hi."
He looked in my eyes like he have seen a ghost dragging Calix back before she heads any furthur away from him. "I'm not seeing a ghost right now. Right? Calix."
"No man. This is Lethia she just looks really alike to Amy. Now let's eat dinner I am starving."
Antonio nods slowly glancing back at me. "Right?" He sighed. "I'll get the plates ready."
When I walked into the kitchen there was a girl voice. She was humming, and it was a lullaby. I could hear clearly but everytime I hear this song it gives me the creeps. Calix looked at me. "Lethia, are you hearing it?" she asked. "The song. The hum."
I nod. "I've been hearing this lullaby for more than a week now. I thought no one could hear this lullaby but me." In this moment, the ruby ring that was in Calix index finger glowed.
"What the f**k is going on?" Antonio cursed.
