Katherine’s POV I bumped into Rowan and stumbled back a step, clutching my phone. “Sorry,” I said, trying to steady my breathing, “I didn’t see you there.” He frowned and looked at the phone in my hand. “What is that?” “Nothing,” I said quickly, hiding the screen, “just checking a message.” He didn’t push further. He glanced around the yard, then back at me. “You’ve been busy.” I forced a small smile and nodded, “Just needed some air.” He studied me for a second, then nodded and stepped away, giving me space. I exhaled and moved toward the ballroom entrance. The sound of music and laughter grew louder as I approached, and I had to force myself to stay calm.
