Urban Soldier King

"Are you sure you want to quit from the Special Ops team?” the tough-looking old man asked the young man sitting in front of him.   The old man looked nothing special except for the piercing eyes which seems to be able to see through anyone with just one look. His chest was adorned with countless medals and insignias showing the accomplishments in his military carrier. Those who know him address him as the 'God of War'. He holds power rivaling that of the current Chief of Army Staff. He is Lieutenant General Long Wudi, the Defense Minister of the country.   "It’s not like I'm quitting from the army General. I just want to live a normal life for once. I have grown tired of this solitary and restricted life. I have already done more services to the country than those veterans do in their whole carrier in the last 6 years. Surely you are not going to deny that, right?"   The young man with dangerously calm eyes replied without being even a little bit flustered. His name is Long Yun. Long Yun is an extremely talented officer. In the various training exercises - his plans and tactics have always amazed the senior officers. The people in the army already view him as the successor of the god of war Long Wudi who would maybe surpass him. He also has another special identity in the military, the leader of the first ‘Special Ops’ team called ‘Ragnarok’.   The Special Ops teams are the dream of every soldier in the military as each one of them is very powerful and talented individuals. All of them are nourished by the Government. Their overall condition is a few times better than the normal soldiers as they are elites of the country. Even among the Special Ops, team ‘Ragnarok’ is a mythical existence. Each one of them was a powerful martial artist. They only take their tasks from the President himself and the Defense Minister is the middleman who is overall in-charge.   Everybody in the army would look at Long Yun like he was a mad man if they knew he was resigning from such a position.   The old man sighed. “Alright. If that is what you want. I can assign you to some other region where you can refresh your mind and then again come back. I’ll leave your position vacant for the time being but in case of any emergency you must return at once.”   “Okay, old man. Knowing you I expected you to be like - Go and do another 10k pushups then come talk with me.”   Actually, the two of them were like a pair of father and son. Long Wudi started training Long Yun after he found him in an abandoned cave of a mountain close to the Donghai City. It was purely by luck that he had a mission close to Donghai city and was returning from there when the rain started and he needed to take shelter in that cave and found baby Long Yun crying. Long Wudi had recently become a father and this baby looked to be barely a year older than his own daughter. So he decided to take the baby Long Yun with him and search about his whereabouts later.   Not long after that their daughter was born Long Wudi’s wife got into an accident and lost her ability to bear another child. His wife was over-protective of their only daughter and he knew his wife would never agree to let her daughter join the military to succeed him. Although at first Long Wudi tried to find Long Yun’s family, soon he gave up having no clue. Even the name ‘Long Yun’ was given by his wife who was more than happy to have another child and raised him as her own.   Long Wudi raised Long Yun to be a great and powerful soldier. As long as he didn’t overdo it, his wife would not stop him. He would train Long Yun from Dawn to Dusk every day even within his busy schedule, he would make time to see his progress.   Long Wudi never hid the fact about where and how he found him and made him promise that before he became an adult and was powerful enough; he wouldn’t go to find his real family. He just realized that both the conditions have been met and knew what he wanted.   “So, where do you want your new posting?” Long Wudi asked despite knowing the answer.   “Donghai City.”   “There is only a post for the military instructor for the Donghai University open in Donghai city. Are you sure you want to go there?”   “Whatever. The less troublesome post the more time I get for myself”   “Alright then. But before going there go and spend some time with your Aunt Qin and Long Xue.”   Long Yun nodded his head and exited the room to take his belongings.   Long Wudi stared at the posting order for some time before nodding his head and stamping it.   “Looks like the Donghai City will soon be turned upside down.”   How could a powerful man like Long Wudi not have any clues regarding Long Yun’s origin? He just wants Long Yun to find everything out on his own and do what he thinks is right.
