*Thump* Thump* Thump* "Just five more minuets please" groaning from who ever woke me from my slumber. The curtains soon opened and the blistering sunlight woke me up. I tries to adjust my eyes to see who it was. Unfortunately I couldn't send away this person for it was my mother. Great. My mother had long white hair that was loosely curled, with braids going from the side of her head going to the back of her head. Her pointy ears were decorated with different ear jewls that shone through out the room. She had pail skin which made her emerald green eyes stand out. She was beautiful, their was no doubt about that. Her green dress complimented her eyes, and around her neck was her most prized possession. A necklace that my father gave her, in all my life I have never seen her not take it off. "A princess doesn't have any lie ins in bed. There are many things to do while the sun is up." I just groaned and rolled out of my bed. Went over to my bathroom and washed my body and brushed my teeth by the sink. Walking out in only my towel my mother had her arms crossed and her brow was raised. "A princess must always look her best, come along, so go and put some makeup on." Rolling my eyes I went back into my bathroom and walked over to my vanity room and applied the very basic amounts to my face. I mainly focused it all around my eyes.    I had long straight white hair that flowed all the way to my hips, so I decided to put a few braids along the edges of my face and placed a few hair accessories in my braids. I had ice blue eyes, which I got from my father, but the rest of my facile features I inherited from my mother. I applied a pink tint to my fairly round lips, used neutral tones to create a smoky eye, applied mascara then filled in my brows. Walking out again my mother looked a bit more pleased with my looks. "I've already chosen your dress, quickly get changed and meet me in my office." My mother did have really good taste in fashion. The dress that was layer across my bed was very simple but elegant, it was a light blue dress with delicate stitching of white oak leaves around the edge and centre of the dress. I quickly slipped on some white shoes ands rushed over to my mothers office.     My mothers office was well decorated, everything from the furniture to the walls had the foundation colour of golden yellow, the padding in the furniture had either blue, green or purple patterns. Her desk was very elegant, solid gold with the legs looking like waves splashing against the shore. My mother was sitting upright in her chair which looked as if she had cast a spell on an owl to spread its wings and asked somebody to capture this position and engrave it in gold. It was so beautiful, that I envied how my mother got to sit in such an elegant chair while I got one of her chairs that had very basic detail on it. For the next three hours she went though my posture, my knowledge of the kingdom and the proper way to present myself in front of people.  "It's important for a princess to present herself with grace and elegance at all times. When you are presented to some potential suitors, your image is important and you need to leave a good lasting image on them." "I don't want a suitor, can't I just rule as a solitary monarch?" My mother sighed. "No, you need to marry somebody who is an heir to the throne, its the only way and a lady can not rule alone." I hated that I needed to marry in order to become a queen. Its ridiculous. "Anyway, your brother would inherit your fathers throne." Another stupid thing was that my brother would get everything and I get nothing. He's ten years younger than me and yet he is automatically the heir to the throne. I do love my brother with all of my heart but I still wasn't over him being the next heir. "What happens when I meet my soul mate? Will I be aloud to marry him?" I only wanted to marry my mate, I didn't care what statues he would be perfect for me and that's the only person suited for me. "If your mate if of royal statues and an heir to another throne, the yes that's fine" I had a small smile but that soon came crashing down by my mothers next sentence. "If he isn't of royal statues then no, I will not and shall never allow that to happen." I slumped back down into my chador and allowed my mother to finish my lecture. A few more hours passed and I was dismissed by my mother. Its all crazy, I don't want this life I want to become more than this weak princess who can't marry her mate, who can't inherit a throne unless she marry an heir and her mother forbids her from learning how to fight. I hated my life, sometimes I dream of running away and never coming back but I couldn't bear the pain it would cause my parents. I walked towards the training centre and watched my father teach our warriors how to fight. To the right of him I could see my brother holding a sword that half his size. I envied the women who were learning to become our realms warriors, I just watched them practice. They were so swift, stronger and elegant, I wished to be like them. I wanted to be like them, one day I will be but when that day comes I'm not quite sure yet. I wondered back to the palace and bumped into my magic teacher. Every elf has some type of magic properties, the lower ranking ones have healing properties and the highest ranking ones have more powerful properties. My mother can summon animals to do her bidding, my father has ice properties which help create huge ice walls which he only puts up when our lands are in trouble. My brother has already discovered his magic properties, her can control water a bit similar to my father but my brother can't turn his water to ice. I still don't know what mine are, which frustrates me. "Hello princess Eleanor, are you ready to try and discover your magic today?" "Yes Azure, I've got nothing better to do these days" "Come along then Eleanor" I followed Azure to a solitary place in the royal garden. Azure had black hair that he had tied up into a bun and the back of his head, his sides were shaved. He was a good looking man who had silver eyes which I found very memorizing to look into. He wore black trousers and a baggy loose white top, which covered up most of his tattoos, except from the ones on his neck. "Close your eyes and feel yourself become free from your body, feel energy around you consume you." I started to feel light, almost like I was floating, but I concentrated on what he was telling me. "Feel this earths energy flowing through your veins, feel it in the palm of your hands." My hands started to become warm and had a slight tingling sensation. "Your doing amazingly, keep concentration on my voice, now feel the ground from beneath you, try and understand its movements, try and listen to the nature around you." My ears could hear animals but the more I concentrated the more I could here voices, almost their thoughts. "Don't get distracted, concentrate on what I'm saying." Azure sounded like he just scolded me. "Now feel the energy through out your body , to the centre of your body, feel the energy around the edge of your body." I could feel moisture surrounding my body but I still kept my eyes shut. Why was I feeling four elements all at once. "Now princess Eleanor, open your eyes." I slowly opened my eyes only to see my feet not toughing the ground, fire gently burning in the palms of my hands, water surrounding my body; mist around my hands from where the fire and water meet. I turned behind me to find owls, squirrels and many different woodland creatures behind me watching me in awe. "Now release all of that energy slowly" But I didn't want to, its taken me centurys to discover my powers. I stayed as I was, but the fire in my hands started to grow and the flames become more prominent in my hands. I couldn't stop it , I was panicking. I couldn't control my powers. One minuet I was panicking, feeling to fire run through my veins, the next minuet the fire had gone and I was in Azures arms. "Its ok Princess, I'm hear, it all ok." He kept comforting me, he looked scared for me, I was touched by his emotions. "Next lesson I think is learning how to control your powers" we both let out a silent chuckle. I finally managed to stand up, I retired to my bedroom and ask Azure to tell my family I'm exhausted. With that he bowed his head and walked away. I stared at him for a while, I could see more of his tattoos through his top which I made slightly damp from my water powers. He was well built which made me feel safer in his arms. I'm still too young to find my mate but I felt this pull toward him and I couldn't figure out way, I just hoped he was my mate . Walking into my room, I removed my dress and walked into my bathroom. I turned on the hot water, feeling the warm water against my body instantly relaxed me. My mind kept replaying what happened in the garden, since my powers have been unleashed, I felt more attracted towards Azure, why was that? I got out of my shower and headed towards my bed, I got changed into a nightie and fell into a deep slumber with only the image of Azure in my mind.
