A Mate, Babies and A Wolf

Lucia’s POV
I was woken up to the sound of my mate telling me that we had landed and it was time to get off the plane. I was so tired. While I had fallen asleep it wasn’t a restful sleep. My dreams had been plagued with a battle that cost the lives of everyone that I loved and even someone I hadn’t realized that I loved, Lucas. I opened my eyes to stare into his face and just couldn’t help myself I kept staring at him wondering if we would have gotten off to a different start would we be here now? Or would we still be courting? I have accepted him as my mate and intend to allow him to mark me but at the same time I’m afraid. My one and only experience with him was not a good one and I wasn’t sure what kind of lover he would be in bed. Anthony was good I guess although I didn’t have much to compare it to. It was nothing like some of the novels I read but then again those are just fantasy and nothing like that happens in real life right. I was wondering if Lucas was ever going to kiss me and not just a quick peck on my cheek or my forehead but a real deep kiss. Anthony always gave me a few pecks on the lips and occasionally he would deepen it a bit but when he broke it off it left me craving something more. “Lucia did you hear me? We are hear and everyone is waiting for you. As future King and Queen we need to exit together.” Breaking me out of my thoughts I looked up into his eyes and said “Yes of course, there are so many things I need to get used to. Will you teach me? I want to be the best I can be.” Lucas smiled at me and said “I’m certain you will make a great Luna. Because of you we now have aliances with several vampire packs. You show grace and love with those you are around. You have shown strength and courage even in your weakest state. While I realize there are formalities that you may need to learn you already have what it takes to make a great Luna and Queen.” I smiled at him, took his hand and we started to walk out of the plain. As I got half way down the stairs Mystic said to me “I’m sorry for doing this to you love, but if we don’t have this baby now so that we can turn for the first time tomorrow it will be to late to save any of us.” Just as I was about to ask her what she meant I was crippled with the worst pain in my belly that I could ever imagine. Just then my pants became soaked and I doubled over. I grabbed Lucas by the arm and said “I think I’m in labor.” My mother heard my words looked at me and gasped. “Get her to the pack hospital NOW. Her water just broke that baby is coming today.” At first Lucas just stood there and stared at everyone and then suddenly like someone had kicked him he sprang into action. Sweeping me off my feet he sprinted to the pack hospital where I was immediately taken into a room. I could hear cries coming from another room and it terrified me. I sounded like the person was being tortured and I wasn’t sure that I wanted to know. But I asked anyhow “Who is that screaming like that?” The nurse looked at me and said “your majesty that is the Luna she is also in labor and giving birth as we speak.” I must have turned very white because in the next instance she looked at me and said “It sounds terrible and there will be pain but when it’s all over with you will forget all about it. Once you hold your pup in your arms you will be in love all over again.”
Lucas’ POV
Our plane had landed at Lucia’s home pack almost an hour ago but knowing how tired she was all of us that had accompanied her chose to stay on board and let her sleep a little longer. About fifteen minutes ago her mother got a mind link telling her that Lucian’s mate and Luna was in labor. Her mother wanted to be there for the birth of her first grandchild so I reluctantly went in to wake up Lucia. It took me a bit to get her to awaken but once I did she just kept staring at me. I kept telling her that we were here at her pack and needed to deplane because everyone was waiting on us. As royals they couldn’t leave the tarmac until we got off the plane and it was urgent her mother gets to the pack hospital as her sister in law is in labor. But Lucia just kept staring at me so finally I said “Lucia did you hear me? We are hear and everyone is waiting for you. As future King and Queen we need to exit together.” That seemed to break her out of her thoughts. Blinking a few times she replied “Yes of course, there are so many things I need to get used to. Will you teach me? I want to be the best I can be.” I just looked at her in disbelief she thought she wasn’t good enough to be my Luna and future queen. How wrong she was. I was the one not good enough to be her Alpha and future King. I looked at her and said “I’m certain you will make a great Luna. Because of you we now have aliances with several vampire packs. You show grace and love with those you are around. You have shown strength and courage even in your weakest state. While I realize there are formalities that you may need to learn you already have what it takes to make a great Luna and Queen.” With that she smiled at me, grabbed my hand and we made our way out of the plane. My mate seemed to be accepting me and wanting to be the best she could be. I intended to show her every day just how grateful I was that didn’t reject me and that she accpepted me despite how horribly I had treated her when we first met.
We got about half way down the stairs when Lucia suddenly stopped. She let out a anguished cry and grabbed my arm to get my attention better. I looked over at her and her pants were soaked. I wondered if she had wet herself. She looked at me before I could even voice my thoughts and said “I think I’m in labor.” Her mother had glanced up at us when she heard the commotion and yelled for me to get Lucia to the pack hospital now as her water had broke and the baby was coming today. I was trying to digest what I was hearing. We were almost a month early in her delivery this couldn’t be good. Was our baby going to be ok? Ranger spoke to me “our baby and our mate will be fine. She needs to deliver today so that she can shift and gain her full powers tomorrow. It is a full moon tomorrow and she can only gain her powers after shifting at a full moon. The next full moon will be to late for the battle and we will all die. I promise you though our Luna and our pup are strong.” Lucia screamed again in pain and that brought me out of my thoughts and conversation with Ranger. I looked over at my mate doubled over in pain and knew I had to take action. I scooped her up in my arms and started springing towards the pack hospital. When we got there a bunch of nurses and a doctor were waiting for us. They took Lucia out of my hands telling me to give them a few minutes and I could rejoin my Luna. I nodded and did as I was told. Then from out of nowhere I heard the worst screaming of my life. It wasn’t my mate but the female was in dire pain. I looked over at my future mother in law and she smiled. “Sounds like my first grandpup is almost here and my second one won’t be far behind. Oh what a happy day to be a grandparent.” Just then I heard a baby crying and watched as Lucia’s mother clapped her hands. “Lucian and Emily have a girl. Oh I can’t wait to see what you two have. I can’t wait to spoil my grandpups.” Just then Lucia started to scream from the room and it terrified me to hear her in pain like that but then something she had yelled filled my heart beyond words. “I need Lucas, I need my mate where is he please I want my mate with me.” She wanted me. She actually wanted me. Oh happy day.
Lucia’s POV
Labor was hell. It seemed as soon as Lucian mind linked the whole pack that he and Emily had a healthy baby girl my contractions decided to come faster and harder than before. I didn’t even have time to congratulate him before one took my breath away. I screamed out for Lucas my mate. He came to my side and kissed my forehead. “I love you. Ranger told me that everything is going to be fine but we are on a tight time table.” I looked at him and as soon as I was able to catch my breath I said “I know Mystic said the same thing. I have to shift tomorrow night. Will you be there with me like you are here with me now?” He grabbed my hand and smiled then said “I will never leave your side as long as I am able to be by you my world is complete. Let’s get our pup into this world and then we will work on the rest.” He no sooner got those words out of his mouth when another contraction hit me like a big semi truck. The doctor looked at me and said “I see the pups head Luna it’s time to push. It’s time to bring this pup into the world.” I pushed as hard as I could and just when I thought I couldn’t push any more I heard everyone in the room gasp. I was afraid because I couldn’t hear my pup crying. Was he ok? I needed answers. I looked at Lucas and said “Is he ok? Why isn’t he crying?” Just then I heard the sounds of a puppy crying for its mom. “Why does our baby already sound like a young wolf?” Lucas looked at me and said “because my love you and our son are very special indeed. He was born in his wolf form and he has just now turned into his human form.” Just as he said that a nurse handed me my beautiful bundle of joy. She was right I forgot all about the pain in that instant. He was perfect. I wondered what it meant that he was born in wolf form. I had never heard of a pup being born that way. Lucas went out into the hallway to let everyone know that we had a son and that we were both doing well. My mother came in right after and told me that both of her grandpups were beautiful and she couldn’t wait to spoil them. When she found out that he was born in wolf form she gave a soft gasp and said “like mother, like son.” I looked at her and she elaborated for me “you were born in wolf form as well, then your wolf went dormant for a while. We weren’t sure why but we were told it wasn’t her time to be out.” I then informed my mom that I was going to have to shift tomorrow night and she replied with how it made sense as it was a full moon and I needed my powers. Mom had a lot of explaining to do.
