“These are the uniforms. Boss will be here to show you around and take you to your training.”

“Thank you.”

She nodded her head then walked away. I put on the black and grey uniform with my boots and I put up my hair in a bun to show off the scars and marks on my body. Deimos told me they show off my power as a warning, that I don’t back down. I finished unpacking my bag then I looked around the room. I walked over to my window and it had a small balcony. I stepped out and I saw the garden, the deer playing, bunnies chasing each other, all of it.

“It’s peaceful.”

I jumped then saw Deimos behind me.

“You scared me.”

“I knocked.”

“I bet you did. I’m sorry, when I’m studying something, I lose focus on everything else.”

“I can tell. You looked less tense.”

“Nature is relaxing.”

“You’re tied to nature. Well, all of the elements but mainly earth and soul.”

I nodded my head.

“Makes sense.”

I turned and we got off of the balcony. We walked out of my room and he started walking me around in silence.

“Don’t tell me were doing the whole strong, silent type thing again.”

He smirked.

“You don’t treat me like a God.”

“I treat you as my equal because I know some that have power don’t like using their title and like to be treated as a normal person sometimes.”

“You’re the only person here that doesn’t fear the God of fear.”

“Because I have none.”

“Which surprises me.”

“Well, you’re in for a few more surprises.”

He c****d his eyebrow.

“A man can wonder.”

“Oh Goddess, don’t start making dirty jokes now.”

He started laughing and a few people stared. He went back to his blank expression.

“Go back to your posts.”

I used my Alpha voice and they nodded their heads. We kept walking and he shook his head.

“I have to say, you’re very powerful.”

“And I have no clue how to control it.”

“Which is why you’re here. Tori, I feel that you can be as powerful as a God if you really focus.”

“You have no clue how focused I am. But I don’t want the power, I want to control it so I don’t hurt someone.”

He nodded his head then we got to the training center. We stood on the mats and he threw wraps at me.

“Wrap your wrists.”

I wrapped them and he watched my every move. He nodded his head then I saw someone come at me fast. I ducked then wrapped up their legs. Once they were on the ground, I reached over and punched them in the face. I got back up to my feet and put my block up.

I took three blows to my back and let it ripple off of me and they bounced back. I looked back at Deimos and he looked impressed.

“Your training is the same at the base.”

I heard clapping then I felt something try creeping up on me. I felt the fear that was trying to be implemented on me but I pushed it away. I balled it up and shot it back at who it was. I saw a man standing there built exactly like Deimos but looked different in the face.

“Tori, my brother Phobos.”

He looked me up and down and looked like he was staring at his next prize.

“Call me Bo.”

I nodded my head then looked at the person that attacked me. He was lying on the floor and was in pain so I took most of it away from him.

“Better?”

“I can handle it.”

“No you can’t. Not the level of pain I can put you through.”

He rolled his eyes and I thought about Blackwell. I looked back at Deimos and his demeanor changed as soon as his brother got there.

“I think we’re done for the day.”

“Can I hit the bag for a while?”

“You don’t have to ask. Stay here as long as you want to but make sure you’re in your room by midnight.”

I nodded my head then walked over to the bag. I started boxing then I noticed that the two of them were standing there watching me while talking. I let Faith take over my hearing.

“She’s a powerhouse.”

“You have no clue.”

“Where’d you find her?”

“One of my worshipers is an Elder. I’ve worked with her for over forty years and she’s never once asked me for a favor back. This was her request, to train her to be strong.”

“I don’t know about you but I’m willing to break the rules and be with a human.”

“She’s not human. She’s a descendant of one of the Elders, a hybrid, and an Alpha.”

There was silence for a minute.

“She’s mated too.”

“I can see that bro. Her mark is beautiful too.”

“It’s a symbol of power.”

“Her mate, Alpha too?”

“No clue. She talked about him with me once and that was it.”

“Strong silent type?”

“She said the same thing about me.”

“Well you are.”

“Whatever man. But don’t try getting with her. The last time you got with a taken woman, things ended poorly for you.”

“Well that’s because she was a crazy b***h that tried getting me to knock her up with a half blood to have control over me.”

“Still, don’t try.”

Deimos left then Bo walked up to me.

“Left handed.”

I switched hands and boxed with my right.

“Ambidextrous.”

I kept hitting the bag while he stood behind me.

“I know you heard our conversation.”

“You were ten feet away from me.”

“We were whispering.”

I stood up straight.

“I’m mated and I’m happy.”

“He would be here with you.”

“I made him stay. He had responsibilities there-”

“You are the number one responsibility. Nothing comes before you.”

He got closer and looked me in the eyes.

“You can cover up the mark. No longer be mated to him.”

“I don’t want to. As soon as I’m done here, I’m going back to him and we are going to be back together.”

“And for now? You think he’s going to wait two months to see you again?”

“Yes, because I am too. We love each other.”

“How sure are you?”

“I’d put my life on it.”

He looked around and saw that no one was with us then looked back at me.

“You have no clue what we could do together.”

“Nothing good.”

He shook his head.

“We could change history.”

“We are going through the worst time in history for the world. The population has been wiped out.”

“And we are going to build the world back and make it better.”

“We?”

“All of us. But you and I, we could make a revolution.”

I shook my head.

“You’re powerful and I am too. We are both taking off more than we can bite but together, we can make sure that everything is done.”

“There is no ‘we’ here. I am being trained by your brother to be stronger and you are going to back off and let him do his job and let me do my training.”

I took my wraps off and threw them at him and walked away. I was walking back to my room when I felt a hand on my arm. I saw Deimos standing there and we went into my room.

“You did good.”

I chuckled.

“Was that a test?”

“No, everything he said was him but I knew he was going to try something with you. "

I nodded my head then I took a breath. He watched me and studied my scars.

“Say it.”

He looked confused.

“Say what’s on your mind.”

“Are you commanding me?”

“No.”

He nodded his head then looked back at the scar on my arm. I held out my hands and showed him the scars on my hands.

“Why would someone leave these marks on you?”

I turned around and he saw the scars on my shoulders and the exposed skin above the back of my tank top. He traced over one of them then ran his fingers over my mark.

“Did this hurt?”

“Barely.”

“Which scar hurt the worst?”

I sighed.

“It’s on my leg.”

He nodded his head.

“Which do you want to tell the story to me about?”

“You pick.”

“I don’t see all of them.”

I turned back around and looked at him. He didn’t have a hidden meaning behind that, he did want to see my scars.

“Can you give me five minutes to shower and change? I’ll show you all of them.”

He nodded his head then sat on my bed. I grabbed a tank top and a pair of shorts then went into the bathroom. I turned the shower on and undressed. I got in and washed myself off really fast then I rinsed off. I got dressed and dried my hair off with the towel then walked out.

He watched me walk towards him and I showed him the scars on my legs and he traced over a few of them.

“Which one was the most painful?”

I turned to the side and he saw the scar all along my thigh and calf.

“I slid down a tree trying to help my brother get down. He got stuck and couldn’t get his foot out of place so I went up, moved his foot, lost my grip and slid down the tree. I gashed open my leg.”

He shook his head.

“What about you? Let’s see your scars.”

He looked up at me and rubbed over my knee.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

He nodded his head then pulled off his shirt and I saw his body. His body was amazing and covered in cuts and scars. He stood up and towered over me as I ran my fingers over each scar.

“Most are from my father too.”

I looked him in the eyes.

“I never said anything about my father.”

“You fear him more than anything else. Him and your mother but you still have pity and love for her.”

I looked down but he made me look back up at him.

“For as long as you’re here with me, I’ll always protect you.”

I nodded my head. I looked back at the scars on his body and he grabbed my hand. He brought it to the scar above his heart.

“This one hurt the most. Because of the betrayal.”

“What happened?”

“A woman, my only love.”

“She tried killing you?”

“She wanted to be with Zeus, my grandfather. So to prove to him how much she wanted him, she gained my trust and love then tried to kill me.”

I shook my head and he looked me in the eyes.

“Can I do something without you trying to kill me after?”

“Depends on what it is.”

He cupped my face and softly kissed me. I wanted to pull away but at the same time, I wanted this. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him then I pulled away.

“I can’t. I love Kyree.”

“He’s not here. You left him there because he threw a tantrum.”

“I didn’t tell you about that.”

“It was obvious by how hurt you were and still are.”

“It doesn’t matter. He’s my mate and we love each other.”

He let me go then took a breath.

“Tori, I am willing to fight for you. I want you more than you could imagine. The moment I saw you, I knew that the beauty of my mother could not compare with you.”

“I am nothing like your mother. She’s the goddess of beauty.”

“I know that.”

I shook my head and he made me look back at him.

“I don’t fall for anyone. The last relationship I was in was over three thousand years ago. I don’t have flings, I don’t sleep around, none of that. But the moment I saw you, I craved a future with you.”

“Deimos-”

“Don’t call me by my name.”

“What do I call you then?”

He cupped my face again and I looked him in the eyes.

“Anything but that. My name is horrible-”

“Your name is beautiful and powerful.”

“As is yours, Torrence.”

I shook my head.

“It means lighthouse.”

“A guardian. Protection, someone that watches over their people.” He kissed me again. “An amazing and beautiful leader.”

He rested his forehead against mine and studied my eyes and I studied his.

“We are far too much alike for us to ever accomplish anything.”

“We are exactly alike which is why we will accomplish everything that is set in front of us.”

“We can’t be together. I don’t want you.”

I looked down and he scoffed again.

“Look me in the eyes and tell me you can’t imagine a life with me.”

I looked at him and I could see that I was hurting him.

“I’m in love with my mate and you cannot expect me to drop him for a God that doesn’t even know if he can be with me and for a man that I don’t know.”

“Let’s get to know each other then.”

“I need time.”

“Then you can have as much time as you want and need. I’m not going to age and if you’re with me, you won’t either. I will never lie to you or hurt you."

“How do I know that?”

“Time.”

I nodded my head then he kissed my cheek.

“Tomorrow you will be meeting a few others and get advice and seek different training ideologies.”

“We have to go back to the base in two days because I have the swearing ceremony.”

“I’m aware.”

“Will you come and stay?”

“You mean stay and watch you be with the man I want you to leave and become Alphas with him? Sure, I’d love to.”

I rolled my eyes and took a step away from him.

“This is a very important day for me. I’m going to be sworn in as Alpha officially and I’m going to need the support of the people that claim they love me and care for me.”

“I didn’t say I loved you.”

“You did show you care.”

“Of course I care, Tori.”

“Then you’ll be there for me.”

He sighed then nodded his head.

“I’ll go and be there for you.”

“Thank you.”

He looked at the picture of me and Kyree then looked back at me.

“Where’d you get that?”

“It was given to me by my Nana.”

“Is that your mate?”

“Yes, that’s me and Kyree with our dog Axl. We were going back to the base after our first mission together. We were exhausted and happy to finally be going back.”

He nodded his head then watched me relive those memories.

“Get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning and make sure to wear something nice.”

“You think in the middle of all of this, I have a nice outfit? All I have are uniforms and sleeping stuff.”

“I’ll have someone bring you a nice dress then. Do your hair and makeup too.”

He walked out of my room and I got in the bed. It was comfortable and the comforter basically swallowed me with how thick it was. I slept comfortably the entire night and I was at peace. I woke up to a knock at my door and three people walked in with Bo and Deimos.

“How’d you sleep beautiful?”

Deimos rolled his eyes at his brother's attempt to flirt with me.

“I slept well. How’d you sleep, Agápe?”

I looked at Deimos and he looked surprised.

“I slept good too. Your dress is right there and they are going to help you get ready.”

I nodded my head then I got out of bed. The two of them watched my every move as I looked at the dress. It was a pure white gown that was off the shoulders and was floor length. It was flowy at the bottom and had a slit all the way down the leg.

“I’m not getting married.”

They laughed then I brought it to the bathroom with me. I took my clothes off and pulled the dress up. One of the ladies zipped the dress up for me and I walked out of the bathroom. The two of them made the same face at the same time, staring at me in awe.

“Wow.”

“I know.”

I chuckled then I sat on the chair that they had pulled out for me. The ladies started doing my hair and makeup while I sat there then one of them pulled out a wand of some sorts.

“This will hide your scars.”

“No, leave them out.”

“Miss, they don’t-”

“Leave them.”

She nodded her head then they finished what they were doing. I looked in the mirror and saw that I had a bold red lipstick on with cat eye makeup. I had my hair done in different volumes of curls and it was pinned back. I was wearing strappy black heels then I stood up. I was around five foot eight without heels on but with these, I was almost six foot and they were still towering over me.

Deimos and Bo stood there in complete shock.

“Mom, you have a challenge here.”

“Even without all of it, she gives mom a run for her money.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Thank you but I still have the same attitude. Now, move your asses.”

I pushed them out of my room while they were laughing and the three of us walked out. I turned back to the group and smiled.

“Thank you so much, you did an amazing job here and I’m grateful for you.”

They each smiled at me then the three of us walked downstairs. They fought over who’d help me down the stairs but I walked down on my own and once I got to the floor level, the training room, people stared. I looked back at the guys and I noticed that the two of them were wearing suits to combat with my dress.

“Black and charcoal grey, nice.”

“Well, we have to look good.”

“You have to try, I’m effortlessly handsome.”

Bo looked at Deimos and smirked.

“Bo, you’re a pain in my ass.”

He started laughing.

“Can we go?”

Deimos nodded his head then took my arm in his. He waved his hand then there was a door.

“I still have to get used to that.”

He opened the door and we walked through and we were standing on clouds in front of a gate. He pushed it open and there was a woman standing there with a man. She was stunning in every way imaginable. He looked rough and like he’d gone through hell and back.

“Mother, father.”

That’s when I realized, we were in olympus. I looked at the two of them and everyone saw my confusion.

“Tori, breathe.”

I took a shaky breath then looked back at the woman.

“Aphrodite.”

She tilted her head then I looked at the man.

“Ares.”

He nodded his head then looked at his sons.

“Who’s girl is she?”

Aphrodite slapped his chest then he started laughing. They embraced their children then she took my hands.

“My child, how beautiful you are.”

I stood there stunned.

“You’re the Goddess of beauty.”

“And I’ll admit when I see a beautiful woman.”

I looked down then she lifted up my chin to look her in the eyes.

“Which one of them do you like?”

“Truthfully, neither. I’m mated already and I’m happy with my mate.”

She nodded her head then took my arm with hers and guided me to the palace. As soon as we walked in, it was nothing like I could ever imagine. We walked into the ballroom and there were over a hundred others in there. As we walked down the stairs, people looked up at us and watched the group of us come down the stairs.

“Don’t fear any of them.”

“They are Gods’ and Goddess’, how am I not supposed to fear them?”

“Because as long as you stick with one of the four of us, you are protected by this part of the family.”

As we got down the stairs, a tall and powerful looking woman walked up to us.

“Sister.”

They hugged each other and then they turned to me.

“Dear, this is Athena.”

My eyes got wide. I bowed to her and she chuckled.

“Child, what’s your name?”

“Her name’s Torrence.”

I turned to Deimos.

“I can speak for myself.”

Aphrodite and Athena started laughing together.

“She’s got an attitude. I like her.”

I turned back to the woman.

“I can’t believe I’m here, in either of your presences.”

“Well Torrence, believe it. I heard that you’re being trained by Deimos?”

“I am.”

“How would you like to come study at the Temple of Athena? You can learn everything you can about battle strategy and study under my wing.”

“And you can learn from me how to manipulate men and become a seductress.”

Ares stepped over to his wife.

“And learn from me how to win battles and wars.”

“Well she can learn that from me too brother.”

Deimos got closer to me and whispered into my ear, “Do you need saving?”
