Chapter 1
It had been a long journey driving from Washington, up through Canada and into Alaska to the small town of North Pole where Nicholi and I would be living for the next 4-6 years. North Pole is a small city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough county Though it is bigger than Forks by 1 square mile it's population is smaller at 2,154 while Forks is 3,552. For the next four years Nicholi and myself will be going to the University of Fairbanks Alaska. Our decided area of focus would be the Fire Science Program. Our ending goal, becoming firefighters. "So are you nervous?" Nicholi asked me as we started our winding drive through the woods towards our new home. I smiled and shook my head, my loose curls bouncing every which way. "I've lived on my own before so living with you shouldn't be so bad. It's just I have a few-" "Conditions." Nicholi cut in, a smirk on his beautiful face. "You have told me this several times on the trip here and I don't forget a thing." He tapped his index finger at his temple. "I respectfully accept your expectations love." I pressed my lips into a firm smile and gave my full attention to the scenery before us which included a beautiful, modest plantation set by a small creek. The plantation was perfect in size, it wasn't too big nor too small. It was a beautiful off white with navy blue shutters framing the windows. The front door was red giving it an all-american appeal. Here and there on the property were flowers beginning to bloom, birch trees and old willows that gave it curb appeal and a nice back ground. It also allowed in light but not too much to annoy us. Though I didn't sparkle like my parents I gave off a faint aura-like glow. The actual aura itself was invisible to the naked eye. What humans did see though was a summer-like glow which was alluring and very appealing. "So this is nice don't you think? It has alot of growing room and privacy." Nic said as he parked in the loop around driveway. I slowly unbuckled my seatbelt, the entire time my eyes never leaving our house. "Why would we need growing room?" I asked as I opened the car door and got out. "Well I mean when we get to that chapter of our lives, I imagine having maybe two or three," "I'm going to go and check out the fridge to see if we have food." I blurted out before quickly walking away. I didn't want to hear about how many kids he expected me to birth. My mind wasn't set on having kids but just living my life. That's all I ever wanted to do and it was going fine until I fell in love. Now all these other doors were opening and sooner or later I would have to walk through them. My mother had told me before we left that the Garett and Kate were going to stock the fridge but he didn't know that. Walking up to the front door I inserted the key and turned it until I felt a click. Once I opened the door I took two steps inside and froze. Everything was perfect. Everything was beautiful. Just like the furniture on the front porch everything inside was a white and tan wicker. Here and there were glass beautiful pots with orchids, cala lilies and daisies. The curtains though were a perfect powder blue that fit everything perfectly. My mind was being pulled in a million different directions as I took in the interior of my house that I didn't even notice when Nicholi had entered behind me. I jumped slightly as I felt his hands clutch at my waist and his chin rest in the nook of my shoulder. "It's perfect." He whispered into my ear. I slowly nodded my head. "Better than perfect." Then he released me and laced his fingers through mine before he led me through to the kitchen. "How about we check out that fridge, I haven't ate in half a day." I willingly followed into the kitchen and stopped again. The kitchen was a large modern country styled kitchen. The color scheme of the cabinetry was a rustic powder blue and the walls were a egg shell white giving the room a faint glow as the sun shone through the double French doors that led to wrap around porch. "Ah look here the kitchen and cabinets are fully stocked so we are good to go." Nic said. He began pulling out a ingredients. "I'm going to make us some dinner, why don't you go and tour the rest of the house." I gave him a smile and turned away from the kitchen before walking down the hall. Just a few feet from the kitchen was another set of French doors that gave view to a wicker dining area whose back wall was entirely glass. There was a split in the center of the wall and what looked like a wall so I assumed that the wall could be slid open like doors to make the dining area outdoors. Continuing on down the hall I added two bathrooms and a guest room to the first floor of the house. At the staircase I noticed one went down to a lower floor and one went up. I decided to check out the upstairs first and later the lower. Ascending the stairs I smiled as I looked at all the pictures on the walls. They were the same pictures I had in my bedroom at the lake house. At the landing I stared at the long wrap around hall that led in four directions. On the north side of the house was a bedroom with cream and white color with lots of frills and lace. An elegant double bed with a beautiful quilt and a canopy sat on one side and across from that was a modern yet rustic crib. with matching décor. Stuffed animals were piled in one corner and a desk in the other. Nestled along the windows were build in window seats with patchwork upholstery. I quickly closed that door and went across the hall to the next. This one was another bathroom. The room beside the bathroom was another bedroom with a large bed in the center and an en-suit bathroom. I knew that this was my room because it had almost the same interior style as my room back home. The only difference was it was all squeezed on one floor instead of two and I was missing my piano and bookshelves. The room across from mine was Nicholi's and then one the other side of our rooms were two more guest rooms. Following the staircases down to the lower floor I found three separate rooms. One was a storage room, one a large library and the last a music room. The music room was good acoustics, a beautiful white marble floor with powder blue sparkles and an thick ivory curtains with powder blue draw strings. It was the most beautiful room I had seen so far but only because it had my beautiful piano sitting the center. "Renesmee, dinner is ready." I heard Nicholi call from upstairs in the kitchen. Turning my back on the room I trekked upstairs and into the kitchen were a plate was sitting out for me beside Nic at the breakfast nook. I took a seat and immediately began eating the meal of chicken alfredo and a garden fresh salad. Once dinner was finished I washed the dishes, dried them and returned them to their spots in the cabinets. After the kitchen was orderly again I went upstairs to get my hygiene done so I could go to bed. Tomorrow was Saturday meaning I had two days before my first term at the University began. I was excited and nervous at the same time.
