Episode 6 - Meeting Axel and Luca leeshs POV

8 years later ...

only 18 days to go and I turn 18 it wasn't ever much but Anna, Jake and Billy always made it amazing and I loved them all so much, just having them with me on my birthday meant so much to me but this year would be different because as soon as I turned 18, I would be legally able to leave and be free from scarlet, that's all I had ever wanted for years, Jack said I could stay at his until I got on my feet, with him and Whitney, I had helped Anna last week making sure all of the guests rooms and beds had been cleaned and turned down, all the guests they arrived a couple of days ago, it was that time of year again the moon goddess festival, Jake had spent most of his time with Axel and Luca, not that I blamed him, I was his best friend but I think he needed some male company he was older than me after all, he, axel and luca had all turned 23 this year, jake told me alot about both Axel and luca, over the years, Axel was Alpha to the blue moon pack now, he hadn't found his mate yet, he was the best swordsman and fighter in England, he had slayed more than 200 rogues in his life as alpha so far, me personally I think Jake over exaggerated everything, I had no doubt that he was strong especially being and alpha but I couldn't believe 200 rogues ... nah.... never.... he had built up rather a questionable reputation over the years, he was firm but fair some say, some say ruthless but all I knew of him and luca was from all those years ago, that day when the rogue attacked and I defended them, both were horrible to begin with but they wernt to be feared they were sweet, luca was axels beta and best freind, he found his mate shortly after turning 18, but tradegy struck when she was cruelly taken away by rogues, a week before their mating ceremony, well that's what I heard, other rumours circulated that she left him at the alter and rejcted him, he was deverstated the only thing that got him through it was Axel, I'm glad he wasn't on his own, to bare something like that alone well it doesn't bare thinking about, I understand that our wolfs or inner animals are with us, I love mi and ty so much and I can see how the companionship of another physical human being can be appreciated, but we wernt just human, anna explained to me about the mating bond, that it is a power no one can ever resist or break unless they are rejected and to be rejected by a mate is a fate worse than death, Anna told me of my parents and how because they were mated together, the moon festival was created, my dads parents and my mothers human parents, organised the festival together, the first week would be about all the unmated wolves, they would have the welcome meal, they would have 2 nights of mating balls, the 1st a masquerade ball and the 2nd a black and white ball also in the first week would be the alphas dinner,

the 2nd week consisted of 4 days of meetings with alphas and their packs to talk about alliances, this week would end with the Celtic warrior challenge, 7 challenges, testing a warriors, strength, character, speed, skills, smarts, agility, and a 7th which was to be revealed once there were 2 challengers left,

the 3rd week starts with a break of 3 days then the last 3 days is the moon goddess festival, the third day is spent paying respects to the moon goddess, thanking her for bringing us to life and we also ask for her forgiveness for things we may have done, we offered gifts to pay homage to her, and it ends with spectacular firework show, i was looking forward to the end of the 3 weeks because I shared my birthday with the moon goddess, I was born on the same day as my grandmother herself, what are the odds of that happening huh?! I had already resigned myself to the fact I couldn't go to celebrate and if I was being honest I didnt want to go, i didn't want to risk, getting attention from anyone especially, Scarlet and her oh so charming boyfriend, (dont you just love sarcasm) I had managed all this time to stay as hidden as I could Carlos caught me quite a few times, luckily I would always evade him before he got what he wanted, Whitney casting her protection spell always helped me, I didnt want to be silly let my guard down and everyone finding out who and what I was, I know mi and ty wanted to protect me but to me it was just as important to me that I protect them too from harms way. I found out only 2 years after Carlos staying here at the Manor, he wasn't who he said he was, strange visits in the middle of the night, never shifting in front of anyone, always cold, riding horses instead of running like so many wolves around him, he is a vampire but my curiosity always got the better of me why was he here? why was he with scarlet of all people? I knew he wasn't to be trusted but I couldn't help but leave him to see how everything would unfold, so far apart from late night rendezvous in the forest with the same rogue I saw the first time nothing had happend,

memory - following Carlos

I was stood out on my balcony, watching the moon and stars, its was really late, as I looked down there Carlos was running across the grass towards the forest

'what's he up to?' I said to mi and ty

'no idea but let's follow him' mi said

I ran down the back stairs snuck out of the back door and into the forest being careful of course not to let Carlos see me, he walked and walked until he came to a clearing on the west side of the forest, I climbed up into the branches of a willow tree and watched as Carlos stopped, I heard a low growl come from the front of Carlos, a figured emerged from the darkness, a black and white wolf, a rogue the stench of sewage followed red eyes, as he reached Carlos he shifted back to his human form, "where have you been Vlad" the rogue said

I never noticed what he'd called him I just listened,

"do you know how much alcohol it takes to make that woman drunk and fall asleep?" Carlos asked the rogue,

"maybe you should get your woman in check and give her something to fall asleep quicker ... or forever?" the rogue said

Carlos grabbed hold of the rogue by his neck and hoists him up like he weighed no more than a feather, chocking, grabbing hold of Carlos hand the rogue tried to speak or at least get out of his grip but the more the rogue struggles the more the rogue choked

"I will choose when I show up do I make myself clear" Carlos said

After a moment the rogue finally answered Carlos with a rather, chocked "yes" Carlos lowered his arm and let him go giving him a chance to get his breath back he rubbed his neck, while scowling at Carlos, Carlos began to walk around him, "is everything going to the plan?" Carlos asked the rogue

"yes it's going well we attack 3 different packs each night we have had some casualties and they were from last week when we attacked the blue moon pack, Alpha Axel is stronger than what we think, he is merciless when he kills rogues, no fear, now hesitation, no weakness, it is my belief he and his beta luca will be ones to watch and will give us trouble" the rogue told Carlos,

"do not worry about those two I will dispose of those two when the time is right, keep doing what I am paying you for, be patient wait and I assure you, you and your pack of mercenaries will be free to live a life you choose" Carlos said,

"the serum is being perfected by a scientist of some kind, his daughter is a witch we are using her to keep him working" the rogue said the Carlos

"good the more leaverage we have the better we must get it finished" Carlos said

they nodded and exchanged a hand shake

"now go, go back to your rogues my dear friend and we will strike soon enough" Carlos said and with that they both parted ways,

I havnt said anything yet because I don't have much to go on yet, Jack knows about it but he is like me without any evidence who would believe us....

I had been training with Jack and Whitney all day, whitney left early, she said she had some important jobs to do, I never questioned it and carried on training with Jack, I walked back to the Manor walked up the stairs to my bedroom, when I heard rustling in my room, I slowly opened the door, Whitney, Anna, and Emily were all waiting for me in my room, I walked in,

"what are you guys doing here" I asked

"well tonight is the first night of the mating ball and we have no idea when or even if you want to find your mate but we want you to get dressed up and go to the ball and enjoy yourself, dance with anyone that takes your fancy, drink, eat and be merry, Whitney and Emily will be going with you, no one will recognise you with this on " Anna said as she pulled out the most beautiful white mask I have ever seen,

"what do you say?" she asked

"but I don't have a dress, or shoes or even underwear" I said

"well cinderella you don't just have one fairy god mother you have three, so we got this for you" Whitney said

they each stepped aside and behind them hanging up was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen in my life, it was white silk, it have a low cut out back with delicate crystal chains all different hanging in the space, it was a v-neck front with small thin straps, a train on the bottom and had a slit up the left leg, and sat at the bottom of the dress was a pair of the most stunning blue shoes with a small silver, cresent moon shape, on the front of them as decoration,

"you didn't have to do this" i said

"yes we did now, shut up and don't argue" Whitney said I giggled

"so why don't we move everything down to my room and you can get dressed in there" anna said as she began to pick somethings up, I got really excited and nodded my head rapidly, we all laughed and giggled and moved everything downstairs,

"first things first shower you stink after all the sweaty training you've done today" Whitney said pulling a funny face,

I went to get a shower, I dried my hair Emily did my hair she pinned it up amd left a few curls dangling down, Whitney did my makeup she gave my eyes a smokey look including lashes but the rest was natural not too much, she then put my mask on, and it sat firmly in place, she finished it off with bright red lipstick, I looked completely different I never imagined myself looking like this,

"right ladies the dress now" Anna said

I was so nervous, my palms were sweaty I had butterflies in my stomach

"girls what if scarlet spots me?" I asked

"she won't adult wolves arnt allowed at the first mating ball are they remember" Whitney said

I smiled "oh yeah ... OK let's do this"

"besides we will be with you" Whitney said as she linked my arm,

Anna had hold of my dress, her arms were through it so I could slip it over my head, I had my panties on but I didn't need to wear a bra with the dress, I took off the robe I was in, lifted my arms up and Anna and Whitney helped me get in the dress while Emily was ready with my shoes, the dress was on, Anna sorted the chains on the back of my dress and Emily helped me put my shoes on, when I was finally dressed, all three of my fairy god mothers stood and gazed at me, Anna "oh sweetheart you look" she began to cry

"leesh you look stunning" Whitney said

"I have no words baby girl" Emily said

"you guys don't be so nice" I said

"were not see for yourself" whitney said as she turned me towards the mirror, I turned to the mirror and I had no idea who I was looking at in the mirror, I was speechless my hair was pinned up with some loose curls hanging down the dress clung to all the right places my mask was beautiful, my makeup matched everything perfectly not too over the top,

I turned to Anna, Whitney and Emily and smiled

"if you find your mate tonight all I can say is the boy you got a lot to work for" Whitney said

we all laughed, Emily and Whitney were all ready before they started with me, they just needed to slip into their dresses, Emily wore a long red ball gown, and a red mask, Whitney wore a dark green dress suit it had a low v-neck front, and looked like a blazer, the pants were long and skinny at the bottom of the legs she wore sensational heels, her hair was tied into a pony tail her hair hung down her back, "right girls get together" anna said as she ushered us together, we each had a photo taken together and single, have fun and hope you find your mates, leesh sweetheart I will come and see you tomorrow ok" I gave Anna a kiss on the cheek and hug, After a moment or two we began to make our way down the stairs we thought if we walked through the kitchen area and into the hall noone of royalty or of alpha making would ever graze there eyes over the servent quarters, once we got there, we walked into the hall, we each grasped a glass of champagne from one of the trays George was holding, even he didn't recognise us,

George looked at me smiled "hello beautiful"

"georgie!!" I said stunned

"leesh! what are you doing here" George said

"leave her alone she's having some fun while looking completely scrumptious" Whitney said we all laughed as we walked into the room, I could feel eyes staring at me both male and female, I felt so uncomfortable, George followed us with a tray of champagne

"ok, be careful ok?" George asked

it was 11.45 pm only 15 minutes until we watched while all of the umated males and females would be pairing off in the couples, I never really thought of it this way before but some or most of the couples in this room, would have their lives changed forever, Whitney and Emily had found us a table near the patio door, so if scarlet happend to appear I could scarper, I was sat in the corner, opposite the staircase, I had finished my champagne, Whitney handed me another one, I just lifted my glass to my mouth when, the whole room fell silent as jake with two other men walked down the stairs, I only assumed were Axel and Luca,

"Anna didn't tell Jake you were coming tonight so let's see if he notices you" Whitney said with a smirk on her face,

I giggled the music started again, and everyone carried on with what they were doing, I discreetly watched as all three of them stood on the stairs, then moved through the crowd,

"so how about we go dance the music is starting to liven up?" Whitney asked

I smiled and stood up Whitney grabbed hold on my hand and Emily grabbed hold of the other, I was moving my hips side to side and my hands were moving to the music, to Jason derulo"s - make love not war thanks to Whitney and her music library on Spotify the last few years, training with my music pushed me further, it really helped me in times when I felt alone, Whitney had taught me a few dance moves, when the chorus came on we started singing it and doing the moves as we went,

"can we just ... make love ... not war" I started to sing low against the music

we hadn't got through it half way when the bell began to chime to say it was midnight, as soon as the bell finished, the room was put into a spin as, couples rushed to find their mates, Whitney, and me were stood still in the middle of the dance floor watching all of the females and males finally find there perfect partner, Emily went stiff and rigid she slowly turned, and clapped eyes on her mate, he walked over to her, he kissed her she melted in his arms, then without saying anything they walked away leaving me and Whitney on our own, I was so happy for her, Whitney, Anna Emily and me had grown so close, seeing Emily find her soul mate was amazing,

as I turned towards Whitney, I looked over her shoulder and seen two sets of eyes staring at me, they both glanced at me and stared until I heard them both shout "MATE!"

Whitney turned to see who I was looking at then turned to look at me,

"I need some air" I said

"leesh stay calm ok your not 18 for another 3 weeks thats why they can sense you and you can't it'll be ok I promise, come we can go for some fresh air" Whitney said

we walked outside, I rounded the corner to the Manor and came across the grass garden,

"whit am I OK to have sometime alone I can't understand all this" I asked her

"of course huni I will be at our table if you need me" Whitney said

"i will be back in soon I promise" Whitney went back in, I took a deep breath, took my heels off and hooked them in my fingers, the moon shone so bright over the lake, it was breathtaking, a warm gentle breeze flew over my skin and through my hair,

if anyone had seen me, I must have looked like a ghost as my dress blew behind me, I felt better once I was out in the fresh air, I walked towards the lake edge watched as the water lapped the shore, it was so quiet I could hear the wind, the crickets cherp, and the owls hoot,

the next thing heard was was rustling in the trees but I made like I hadn't heard it, a feeling of sickness came over me and it wasn't because of the alcohol I had drunk which wasn't much, then I heard that wicked laugh, I hated so much, coming from the bushes,

"there you are my delectable little flower, does Scarlet know your here as the belle of the ball" he said

I ignored him and began to walk away when he grabbed my arm, he turned me to face him,

"come little flower is that anyway to greet me, your future husband and mate" he said

"take your hand off me now, before I do something I regret" I said he laughed at me which only made my blood boil

"you will never be my husband or mate, I would rather die than have you touch me you make my skin crawl" I said to him.through gritted teeth

"feisty I see?! I like a woman that is feisty takes longer for me to break them in" he said as he held me closer,

"let go of me now" I said struggling to get out of his grip,

unknown male "I believe this gorgeous creature asked you to let her go"

Carlos let me go, the male stood behind me, another man joined him after that

other unknown male "I believe you are right brother, the lady asked you to leave her alone"

Carlos nodded his head and walked away towards the house, I turned to see two very tall men about 6'9 looking at me, one has brown hair with deep brown eyes, shaved and the other light brown long hair with a beard, both full of muscles, both dressed in black suits which they had half stripped amd opened from their huge frames, my god these men were beautiful,

"Axel, Luca I've been looking everywhere for you two did you find her your mate" jake said as he walked towards us, as soon as he said those names my hand came up and clutched the necklace I had on, I had never taken it off since the day they gave it to me, they must of known it was me, when they seen it, Jake noticed me standing there

"is this her? is this your mate?" jake said

"yeah it is, but Jake I do believe you know this beautiful woman," Axel said

"no I don't" he looked at me, I took my mask off the moonlight shone on my face the makeup highlighting my features,

"seriously Jake how long have we known each other" I said giggling a little

I looked at Jake "LEESH! OH WOW YOU... LOOK... WOW"

"thanks jake but not forgiven for not knowing who I am" I said

"wait Axel? Luca is Leesh your mate to?" jake asked

"yeah she is but my question is how is it we can sense her but she can't sense us?" Axel asked

"because I am not 18 yet for another 3 week ...Well...ish" I said

"so why were you at this ball? underage unmated partners are not allowed" luca asked

"Anna, Whitney and Emily brought me they thought I needed a treat, I had no idea you would find me" I said

they all looked at me,

Axel was staring at me for a little while he never spoke, then

"are you ok? does he bother you alot?" he asked referring to Carlos,

"more than I like but I can handle him" I said

I smiled at them both,

"its nice to see you after all these years the last time I seen you was ..." I said as I stared at them both like I was mesmerised

"the night we came to see you with your necklace" luca finished my sentence off

"look i better get back to Whitney before I get into trouble she will kill me if I leave her there alone maybe see you around at some point ... jakey remember were watching a film on your thingy on my birthday" I said

"yeah I remember it is still 2 weeks away" jake said

"actually its 18 days away not that im counting then I can leave this place"

Jake looked sad at first

"come on jakey you know why, I wont be that far away though so you can come and visit me" I said

"I know it just won't be the same without" jake said I turn my head to axel and luca

"it was nice to see you both again" I said

"we will head back in with you" Axel suggested

"oh ok sure" I agreed feeling good rather awkward at first, the last time I seen both luca and Axel was all those years ago we havnt seen each other since because, Anna sent me to stay with Jack and Whitney the full 3 weeks, every year since until this one, Anna thought it would be best if I stated away from them encase any rogues came back for Axel,

I placed my mask back on and we headed back into the hall, just before I got to the door, I took hold of Axels Arm as I placed my left shoe on my foot, and I swapped and touch Luca's forearm while I put my right shoe on, I smiled at them both once I was finished and said "thank you" to them both

we walked back in and everyone in the room turned to look at us, I quickly walked away, back to Whitney,

"are you ok?" Whitney asked me

"I wish I had never come her tonight" I said

Whitney seen Axel and Luca walk over to me with Jake,

"we will talk later" Whitney said "ok" I agreed

I grabbed a champagne flute from the tray georgie was carrying and downed the full glass,

as Axel and Luca walked over to me I watched as two she wolfs got up from their table, walked towards them, a tall blonde hooked herself on to Axel, but Axel ignored her and moved his body from her grasp and carried on his path to me, Luca was more polite,

a red head had latched herself on to his arm, he gently removed his arm,

"I'm very sorry but my mate is sat over there and you are not the one I want,... ever" he said to her

both of them pouted and huffed away to another table, Whitney and I sat down at the table, Axel sat next to me and Luca sat next to Axel,

Axel stared at me,

"what! ... tell me what you have to say?" I said to him

"where are you going after your birthday?" he asked me

"im leaving my protector jack who is also whitney's boyfriend has told me I can stay at theirs until I find somewhere to go or find out what I want to do" i answered him

"you will be coming home with us to our pack you will be our luna of the Blue moon pack" he said sternly I instantly got my back up and my blood boiled how dare he boss me about mate or no mate I wouldn't go from one prison to another,

"oh no I won't, I am nearly rid of this prison I will not go to another to be beaten and tortured" I said

Axel was take back by what I said I almost felt guilty for assuming I would be treated the same but his answer of taking me away to his pack and being his luna didn't convince me otherwise,

"leesh what happened to you?" he said,

I could feel myself filling up, I was about to burst into tears, instead I got up walked around them, I ran through the crowd, and up the stairs, I finally reached my room, I took my mask off, wiped my make up off, pulled my eyelashes off, kicked my shoes off got changed in to my pj's, hung my dress up and let my hair down, I got into bed and cried myself to sleep...
