"The plan won't work without Selene as the Valak clan won't follow you if she does not agree to it. They might, if I order it but for how long and as we have discovered time isn't on our side. So, even if it hurts your pride the last thing you need is her not on your side. Pray to whatever you hold dear that this mess is fixable or we are all in big trouble."
There was no pause as the Primus of the Valak clan spoke and Vance knew there was no way the vampire was breathing, well not that Kova needed to. All they could do was just nod accordingly because even if they would never admit it, there was no lie in what Kova just said.
His father looked like he was about to protest but held his tongue. "Alright," De Vile said. "But you of all people should know the danger they pose if we don't deal with them as soon as possible."
"I don't need you to tell me that. Just because you want to be on my side now, does not suddenly wipe off all that happened years ago, you should know better than to try to make the situation worse than it already is." Kova made sure to make constant eye contact with De Vile as he spoke.
He finally broke it off to address the rest of De Vile's crew "Selene would rather see you all dead than join forces with you, the last thing you need to do is test how strong willed she really is. It won't turn out well for either of you."
De Vile rose to his feet, "We are ready whenever you are. Try not to take too long, we are not what we used to be."
The air suddenly changed and Vance put his head in his hands, the least his father could do was look apologetic. This was indeed his father's fault, if they had a chance of bringing Selene onto their side before, they just lost it. He doubted she would want to ever have anything to do with them.
Kova, however, didn't say anything but waved his Palm in a dismissive manner. The guard's reaction was impressive. The door flew open and the guards outside the door marched in and stood in a straight line on each side of the door.
The Blackwood clan's guards stepped up immediately but Kova's guards just stood by the door as if to say if they didn't leave, the Valak clan would be forced to remove them vigorously.
Nobody needed to tell them they had overstayed their welcome and needed to leave at that very moment. Vance was the next on his feet and he immediately strolled out, he didn't care about the rest. Technically, the only person he has come with was his father and the old man could take care of himself.
He was barely out the door when he heard his father's footsteps behind him. Vance could already tell.his after was waiting for the right moment to burst out into a whining spree. However, Vance knew he was not interested.
They got to the car and he didn't get in. His father glared at him. "What are you waiting for?" De Vile asked with obvious displeasure.
Vance ignored his father and started walking away. His father, who was already seated in the back seat of the car, took off after him. "Vance!" De Vile called. "What are you doing?"
"Going home, obviously." He had a bored look on his face.
"The car is the other way," De Vile muttered darkly. He was so pissed his eyes looked dark red.
