"Mr. Jefferson, what do you think about…" She didn't finish.
"Fred," he interjected.
"What?" She asked, confused considering he just interrupted her train of thought.
"Please call me Fred, Selene." He said with a small smile while his eyes studied her face.
Selene felt her feelings seep out and knew her expression was just about to show how she truly felt and she knew this was bad because disgust was the only thing she felt and that was definitely not the kind of face you made at the lunch table let alone to a prospective business partner.
She forced herself to smile and said, "Okay." She hoped her smile was genuine because it certainly did not feel that way; she was never one who was great at hiding how she felt. Her facial expressions always gave her away.
She was glad he did not say anything absurd like he wanted to hear her say it she was certain she would have stabbed him without remorse or regret. Thankfully, Mr. Bennett quickly changed the subject easing the awkwardness that had settled at the table.
Throughout the rest of the conversation, she made sure not to say his name to avoid a repeat of that because there was no way she would have called him by his first name. The idea made her want to crawl under the table and remain there.
She got to the car and closed it with a loud bang. Her skin was still crawling underneath her clothes. In retrospect, the meeting had gone well and there was no doubt they would get the contract.
She was also very glad that she held herself irrespective of the several times that the urge to slap the s**t out of Fredrick Jefferson had come on very strong. She definitely would have broken his neck in the process because of how she felt.
She did an internal scream and started the car. She was glad one part of the stressful things she had to do today was over. She had no other business with the contract, Mr. Bennett could handle the rest and she knew he would be more than willing to do that.
She wanted to rush home as fast as she could but she knew she could not do that yet. She needed a couple of things. She had gotten away with it because she had hung out with a couple of humans, not vampires else they would have smelt the blood and the healing process of her wound.
She had tied a scarf around it but she knew it was not enough and it had to be a little loose but it had hurt too much to tie it around her but she was afraid the juices from the wound would leak out onto her shirt.
She quickly made her way to the nearest supermarket. They would definitely have what she needed and she was super thankful she did not need a doctor's prescription to get the items she needed.
A couple of bandages and spirit to clean out the wound even though she did not necessarily need that as vampires were literally immune to everything. With everything meaning bacterias and viruses.
