CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

"At the sign of any trouble don't hesitate to let me know and drive to the front of the house, so we can make our getaway," Jason commanded. He was already walking away at this point so he made sure he was speaking directly into the mic. It was also a way of making sure it was working perfectly. They had tested it beforehand but as always he wanted to be sure everything was right. "Yes, Boss!" T also replied into his mic and Jason heard him perfectly. Satisfied with this he smirked as he walked down the path to the Valak's daughter's house. He could feel his skin tingle at the thought of what was to come. His breathing was coming out a lot forced and he knew he had to calm down, no need to get all worked up yet. The neighborhood was quiet and there were barely any cars moving around, he knew they would not be disturbed. He had done his research of course, before setting out and he wanted to be ready for the unexpected. He got to her front door and turned the knob but the door was locked. Of course, he was prepared for this. It would have sucked if it was unlocked after he went through all that trouble of getting a master key. He slowly pulled out the key from his pocket and held it to the light. The moon's glow flashed on it and Jason grinned creepily. Without an iota of hesitation, he shoved the key into the keyhole in one goal and turned twice. Jason's smile increased as the lock obeyed the command of the foreign key. He pulled it out and turned the knob. The door opened to reveal darkness. The first thing he noticed was the smell, sweet-smelling with a hint of blood. Jason squinted, his night vision was not completely bad he could definitely see more than the average human but compared to vampires it sucked balls. It also didn't help that he needed an outrageous amount of time for his eyes to adjust in the dark. Still, the darkness didn't stop him from walking in first, he stood in a corner beside the door while his goons trooped in. He immediately closed the door and locked it in the same manner he had found it locked. He locked it twice. Jason wiggled his nose as he sniffled. His nose was the only thing he could say was on par with a few vampires. The only thing he had gotten from his weak-linked father. Jason resisted the urge not to spit out as he thought about his old man. His other siblings were lucky, among them he stuck out like a sore thumb. Well, considering they needed blood like a diabetic needed their insulin, it was hard not to call them vampires. Whereas, he was what? A plain human who could not even stand the sight of blood, let alone the thought of drinking it. Well, thankfully he had overcome his phobia and tonight was the big night, he would finally get to test his theory.
